Amazing, beautiful and very friendly hotel. WiFi everywhere which felt like luxury. Very tasty foods with the restaurant viewing the beach. The pool just outside the doorstep with the ocean as a backdrop. People were amazingly friendly. Definitely a place I would love to revisit soon.

We stayed in Villa Leila for our honeymoon in September. The view was amazing and our butler, George, was fantastic :) The fact that I'm saying "our butler" makes me laugh- we've never stayed in a place with such luxury to have our breakfast, lunch and dinner brought to us in our room (or wherever else we would like) at...

We spent 7 days in heaven in a huge private villa with a rooftop pool, 2 wild terraces and even a bath with a view on the indian sea. Our butler was very kind and careful, he arranged us so many surprises! The hotel offers a large choice of activities and when we went snorkeling on the Mnemba atol we...

My birthday was celebrated on Zanzibar at the Matemwe Retreats. It was utterly fantastic. Zuberi our private butler conspired with my husband to give me the best birthday ever! From snorkeling, and the "found island" in the middle of the Indian Ocean, complete with picnic lunch, to a beautiful birthday dinner under the stars on the roof of our villa....

Myself and my husband just got back from the Matemwe Retreat where we went for the 2nd part of our honeymoon (we went from Kimondo Camp in Tanzania to here - both part of Asilia Africa group). From the beginning our stay was wonderful. We were welcomed on arrival by the General Manager, Ross, who was so friendly and welcoming...

Atmosphere/Activity: the retreat itself is large with plenty to do (spa time, beach activity, pool area), the beach itself has beautiful, powdery sand but beware of the water during low tide; there are hundreds and hundreds of sea urchin on the bottom (it is a fun game to try to walk out to the breaker without hurting yourself!) During high...

My Wife and I stayed at the Private Beach house after our wedding and our successful summiting of Mt Meru. The house is spacious and well laid out, everything is at your finger tips and the attention to detail is exquisite. Our butler Ndaki and our Chef Glibart were both amazing, as was the rest of the staff at the...

This place was insanely amazing. Our family of four stayed in the Beach House and were pampered beyond belief. The house itself is exactly the way and style I would design my own house, with a lot of space, high ceilings, large bedrooms, and beautifully decorated. The outdoor space is gorgeous and perfect for a family. We could lounge around...

In combination with Sayari (another Asilia property for a weeks safari) we had a simply magical holiday. For a week we were spoilt rotten by George our butler, and i have to be honest we did absolutely nothing...a busy day would be walking down to the main bar which is attached to the lodge. But with busy working lives back...
