#9 of 45 hotels in Nungwi
Travellers' Choice
The Warere Beach is nestled on a secluded strip of beach, east of Nungwi, one of the most popular beaches in Zanzibar. Nungwi is known for its crystal blue water, phenomenal sandy beaches, snorkeling, and great nightlife. While most hotels in Nungwi are crowded into Nungwi Village, Warere Beach is located in a quiet, isolated stretch of beach that allows for privacy and pure relaxation, yet easy access to all the action Nungwi has to offer whenever you need a little excitement. The view from our beach is breathtaking, and we designed our hotel around this spectacular view. Each of our individual bungalows has views to the beach. Our three special beach front rooms are literally on the high tide mark, so you feel like you are living in the Ocean. At low tide, you can always relax around our swimming pool, with attached pool bar, so drinks are always on hand! Our onsite restaurant serves a delicious menu of swahili fusion food and you can order a la carte or choose our evening set menu.

My husband and I just visited Warere and found the hotel top tier for relaxation, excellent service, good food and drinks and having very comfortable well appointed rooms. The view from the rooms and the pool are spectacular of the gorgeous white sand beaches. The owner Shauna was very kind and responsive to our inquiries.

I stayed at Wawere for 2 nights. I had the Seaview Room, which is a spacious bungalow. It was a nice, lowkey environment. The pool was nice, well-attended to, and had a wonderful ocean view. Towels were provided in the room. The staff was very friendly and worked very hard to see that all our needs were attended to quickly. The food was okay. They put a nice extra bed in our room, so the 2 of us friends did not have to share a bed. Breakfast was included and the best parts were the egg and crepe station. They also had a selection of pastries, fresh fruit, and sides. I don't remember any meat options. For dinner, they were missing a lot of things on the menu, particularly seafood. We ended up leaving for other larger nearby hotels on both days for both the social aspect and for better food options. There is a small beach option, but only for certain hours of the day. It will completely disappear during high tide. There is a nice porch to sit and relax. My biggest complaint was that my room didn't get cleaned. Apparently, you are supposed to be told that if you want your room cleaned, to bring your huge key back to the front desk. I wasn't told this and absolutely wanted my room cleaned. I didn't feel it was 100% when I checked in and was looking forward to having the smaller issues taken care of. Anyway, I was very annoyed at 5 pm when I was told that they could only clean it the next day (when I was leaving). I think this hotel is nice for families and friend groups. I would have liked to have better food options.

This hotel was absolutely stunning. The first thing to highlight is the beautiful view that surprises you at the reception. We had the seafront room and the landscape from our window was magical. When laying in bed, you can clearly hear the sound of the waves and that’s very relaxing. The bed was super comfortable, we always had electricity and hot water, the WiFi works well and we were given a big bottle of water everyday. The staff was really nice and helpful, and the whole hotel was always clean. Breakfast was very complete, they had whatever you might want (omelettes, crêpes, milk, cereals, bread, cake, fresh juice, etc.). The pool area is well organized with a beautiful view of the ocean. The beach right in front of the hotel is a bit rocky, but if you walk only two minutes you can reach a more accessible spot. The place is super quiet, there aren’t too many tourists (like in the western part of Nungwi and Kendwa) or beach boys. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to see the beautiful sea of Nungwi but without being in the middle of a crowd.

We were EXTREMELY pleased with our stay at Warere. The staff will do anything to make sure you are enjoying the place to the fullest, from the driver to the chef, extremely professional and terrific customer service. Food was so carefully prepared, there is love on everything they do and you can feel it. They arranged all of our tours, were super organized and on schedule every time, making the whole process stress free and as smooth as possible. Location is great, feels like a private beach and close enough to various attractions. After a week doing game drives this is the place you want to go to unwind and recharge. Shoutout to Mo, he went above and beyond to make us happy. I have been to several places and can say this had one of the best services I've ever experienced and can not wait to be back one day.

Lovely small hotel; really well designed with amazing views of the green-blue sea from every angle. Our room(s)... actually two interconnected rooms were at the top in the main building and were very big with great balconies, with fridges, safes etc. They were spotless. The pool was also nice and overlooks the sea a few yards past it. The restaurant was very airy and comfortable with a small but really tasty good value menu. The staff were also very friendly and informative. The location in on the slightly quieter east but is an easy twenty minute walk along the beach to the village past several other hotels. Overall, a great choice for anyone with or without kids. Thank you
