Amazing hotel in Nungwi, can only rexommend this place! From first moment of arrival to our last good bye we felt super welcomed. Feels like you are staying in a family hotel in a secret garden somewhere hidden from the rest of the world. The tropical plants around the pools and the entire design of the place is excellent. The restaurant has a great breakfast selection (you can choose 3 items, like an a la carte menu) and their a la carte all-day restaurant has a variety for everyone. (We are vegans and had amazing food there) The beach is 1 minute walk. Recently opened their beach bar, which has the best spot for sunset with lounge music, is a must. The staff is super nice and can assist you with tours, tuktuk and recommendations. If you are around Nungwi, dont consider other places for your stay!

Hotel's Favourite
The lovely owners of Aluna have created an atmosphere that is lush, relaxed, warm and made us feel like family. The property is beautiful with lush gardens, lovely pools and pleasant dining area. Everything is clean and well maintained. Our room was spacious, clean, nice hot shower, air conditioning, roomy closet and little table and chairs on the balcony overlooking the pool and a bit of a view to the ocean. The food was delicious. Lunch and breakfast a set menu and good, but each day the choices for dinner were different and all so good we felt no need to go elsewhere, though there are other restaurants nearby. And one of the best things about this very special place is the staff - they were all friendly, charming and totally helpful. We felt sad to leave them all, the owners and manager included. Definitely recommend this place - great memories.

We liked our stay at Aluna Paje so much that we decided to also book 5 nights at Aluna Nungwi. Again the hotel grounds and rooms were very clean and this time the hotel was straight at the beach with nice sunbeds, but also still had a great pool that we could enjoy. We really liked the beautiful garden and the very polite and friendly staff. The food and cocktails were amazing and it was nice to visit the turtle sanctuary right outside the hotel at the beach. If you are looking to visit Zanzibar, both Aluna hotels are highly recommended by us!

While on holiday in Aluna Nungwi, we were lucky enough to meet Patrick. Here's a picture of him. He's a gardener. His work is invisible to guests, but its result exceeds all expectations. The hotel grounds are like a garden of eden. Surrounded by greenery. And how are the fences from plants that separate the space near the room from public places made? Patrick, thank you for your best work.
