Our trip to Riu Palace in Zanzibar was absolutely perfect. The location is great, the landscaping is breath taking and the food was delicious, but what really made our vacation so wonderful was the amazing staff- from the maid staff, to the bartenders, wait staff, security, landscapers, front desk staff and the beach staff-everyone always made us feel welcome by greeting us with a smile and a helping hand. We wanted to acknowledge two of the phenomenal members of wait staff that we met- Steven at Pomenade restaurant and Paulina at Ginger. Both Steven and Paulina would welcome us with a smile, take time to talk to us, and were always on top of getting us anything we needed. We enjoyed seeing them when we would visit the restaurants/bars and hope to see them again the next time we visit Zanzibar. While staying at Riu Palace, we were lucky enough to go snorkeling, swim with dolphins and enjoy a sunset sail on a dhow down the coast of Nungwi with the staff at Scuba Caribe who also are nothing short of amazing. If you are looking to do excursions while on vacation, Scuba Caribe is the place to go. It was my first time snorkeling, they made me feel safe and comfortable, even while swimming in the middle of the ocean with dolphins. Additionally, on our second day at Riu Palace, my boyfriend stepped on a sea urchin. Without hesitation, the staff member working on the beach that day ran to get papayas, aloe and a needle. He went to work getting the quills out of my boyfriends foot and checked back on us multiple times throughout our trip to make sure he was healing ok. Unfortunately, I never did get his name, but we were so lucky to have him there to help us. The only real complaint we took away from the trip was the ia restaurant. The staff was great, but the food was terrible with a very limited menu. After talking with other travelers, we weren't the only one with the same feeling/experience towards this particular restaurant. If you are looking to have dinner somewhere other than Pomenade I would recommend skipping ia all together and making reservations with Krystal, or the steak house- both had multiple menu options and the food was outstanding. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would encourage everyone to visit Riu Palace Zanzibar. We made memories we will never forget and cannot wait to visit again. Take the trip, you won't be disappointed. Hakuna Matata.

I would like to send a Big thank you to Cosmas and Steven from the restaurant, they everyday took time to make sure we get all we need and have a very nice chit chat! Same for Lucas from the animation team, this guy is great, he always make sure that everyone is having fun The food is great, the beach is breathtaking, perfect place to relax .... it's so hard to leave this place!!

Exquisite holiday. Friendly staff. Great service. Love the 24 hour bar. Would suggest increasing availability to the sit down restaurants as we were there for 5 days and couldn’t get a booking at all. All inclusive is the way to go with MCC also included.

Really Amazing! Great location, great and delicious food selection, everything conform to Riu „Palace“level ! In my opinion one of the most beautiful beaches which I have ever seen. Additionally there are 3 pools to relax ( one infinity pool to view wonderful sunsets with some drinks)
