Unsatisfactory stay at nungwi, the photos and reviews don't show exactly how the place is, the bedrooms are not as good as the pictures, the toilets aren't that clean, when we landed the AC wasn't working in one room, leaking in the other, there wasn't water pressure to have a shower, door locks weren't opening. These are some of the few issues we faced and the only resolution we received was a round of beer and 25 dollars in total for 4 days of stay reimbursed ( which was promised but never returned to us) overall.dont recommend this place. However the reason.i haven't given 1 but a 2 star rating was because the staff were extremely humble.and very nice to.all of us as well as the common chilling areas were very nice.

Response from Oori Levy, Owner at Badolina Bungalows
Responded 1 Aug 2021
Hello, unfortunately you checked in after we had a very high voltage surge from the electricity company which happens from time to time in Zanzibar. It burned our AC's in a few rooms. And with extra bad luck in your room the basin tap was broken and the door handle. We fixed the door and the tap within 1 hour. We instructed our receptionist to give the group beers on the house to ease the inconvenience. The AC needed a bit more effort. The leak was fixed on the spot, but we had to replace the AC main card which took us 24 hours. We instructed our receptionist to give you $25 discount for the first night. We are very sorry it did not happen as we did our investigation and it got forgotten between the two receptionists shift change. We tried our best, but sometimes it is not enough. Most of the guests I’ve met will actually appreciate all the hard work we did with such a short time to fix all the problems in your room. I guess you are the type who see the half glass empty. All I can say is that our pictures definitely fit the reality as it is important for us to create correct expectations from the beginning and not false expectations.

We have spent 5 sleepless nights in Badolina, having in mind the location the music was super loud until morning hours. In addition to this, the breakfast was poor choice followed by the dirty dishes. Unfortunately, we have not read any poor reviews on this place and decided to spend this much time here.

The place itself is amazing and well run. Uri, the owner, is an amazing guy and took great care of us. When we had a medical emergency he helped us around the clock and wouldn't take any money for it, any time we visit Nungwi again we will always come back to here.

Really nice and cozy place. Very close to the beach. I'm a solo female traveler, stayed ina mixed dorm. Everything was ok, clean, comfy beds. Nice staff and good restaurant. And the chill zone is just awesome.
