Great value!!!!! We stayed at Heartland Lodge for a couple nights in March but wish we could have stayed much longer. Accommodation was excellent and breakfast was amazing. Jim and Mary were wonderful hosts and made us feel like we were at home and gave us great advice on the best places to visit.Highly recommended and will definitely stay longer...

B&B offers well equiped, quite and spacious rooms, on the first floor of the B&B. The hosts (Mary & Jim) make you feel very welcome, and are really helpfull to get the best out of your stay in Twizel. For example; they are able to organise a table in an already crowded restaurant. In addition they offer you the option...

My wife and stayed here a night last week en route from Te Anau to Christchurch. Hosts Mary and Jim met us at the front door and provided both a snack and beverage of choice. The room and ensuite bathroom were each spacious, clean and very nice. After a sojourn to Lake Pukaki/Mount Cook (wow!!) and dinner in Twizel, we...

My partner and I stayed at heartland lodge for just one night but would have been more than happy to stay a few months (or more!)  We were keen to get Jim and Mary to adopt us! We were welcomed to the lodge with a lovely sign addressed to us and other guests as well as the amazing smell of...

First impressions....we were never offered a cold beverage, water, tea or other after a long day of traveling. Guests and hosts were quite loud after 10 PM. One of the lesser appealing accommodations based on many of our other experiences in NZ. All others offered at least bottled water on arrival. I do not drink tap water regardless of the...

Thank you, Carol and Steven, for taking time to post a review and again we apologise for any noise that may have disturbed you shortly after 10 pm. Carol and Steven arrived well before check-in time without unloading luggage. They were given directions to Mount Cook and on return, were welcomed and and a meal booked for them. Guests are...

We decided to stay here because it's close to Mt. Cook and Lake Pukaki, and a good break between Queenstown and Christchurch. Jim and Mary's beautiful home and genuine hospitality were heartfelt and something that we'll always remember. We really had good time jamming with Jim in the evening while enjoying Mary's soothing Rooibos tea. We especially appreciated access to...

We had a family stay here for a night on our way from a Christchurch to Queenstown. We booked the Residence which is has 4 singles and a queen bed. The kids were all freezing overnight even though it was the middle of summer. The hosts were lovely and very accommodating and helpful. I don't think that this place is...

Thank you, Rick, for taking the time to post a review and your positive comments. We apologise for the unseasonably cold weather affecting the South Island at this time. Unfortunately there must have been some confusion over terms and rates. The Retreat was booked for two persons only and we managed to accommodate all six of you. The extra charge...

We had an amazing stay at the B&B from Jim and Mary. Although we arrived late we were welcomed with warmth, tea, wine and home made cookies. They took the time to chat with us which gave such a personal touch to our stay. Heartland Lodge is a beautiful house with a wonderful garden. The B&B provides the guests a...

- Delicious homemade food along with a heartful welcoming from the host will defenitely make us pay a visit again in the future.
