Location, location, location for this hotel is by far its most important feature. Easy to find as it is right on the A1 Ring Road. Check in was very slow especially as at first they could not find the booking on the system, we had to provide paperwork etc. until they finally agreed we had a booking. Room was on...

Pretty much the theme of the trip. We got out of the park after a 20km hike late at night and needed a place to crash. The Skaftafell had 1 room left. three beds and a bath. adequate for our needs given our desparation for a room. Close to the park. Nice people. Room was satisfactory. More expensive than it...

I had been here in 2013 when it was a Fosshotel and stayed none of the outside rooms. This time I got a room inside and it was better. The rooms are spartan, but given the location this can be overlooked. Dinner was great as it had been last time. Breakfast however was subpar. this seems to be the result...

We stayed here one night on our Ring Road tour. The hotel is in an excellent location for Skaftafell National Park. Our room had two single beds and was roomy enough for the two of us - it was in an annexe at the back so we had to walk to the main hotel for breakfast. Buffet breakfast was excellent...

The Good: 1) Super friendly and helpful staff (we asked them to wake us up if the Northern Lights were out and they did!) 2) Convenient and central location if you're visiting Vatnakojull, Jokulsarlon and neighboring areas 3) Free breakfast buffet (delicious) 4) Free parking The Bad: 1) The price considering what you pay (small, dormitory-style room; restaurant way over-priced)...

We stayed several days. It has excellent proximity to many local wonders of Mother Nature. It is quiet, well managed and has a good morning breakfast included. My only wish was that each bed had a real reading light. It is impossible to read. I found this often through out Iceland that reading lamps are non existent. I guess everyone...

Good hotel in a truly amazing location. You have mountain and glacier views and could can just walk 15 mins from the back of the hotel and get to one of the glaciers. The food was (at least for us English) pretty expensive so both nights we ate at the transport cafe at the petrol station opposite. The food and...

The rooms are basic and clean (motel style and small) but the beds are really comfortable and the location is great for visiting the national park. Breakfast is good but dinner, 2 nights, was really good. I can definitely recommend eating there.

More of a motel than hotel. Stayed only one night as part of a volcano tour group. The location is good for a visit to the Svartifoss waterfall , Skaftafellsjokull glacier and the Jokulsarlon glacial river lagoon, where giant slabs of ice have split from the face of the glacier behind to float in the glacial pool. We had the...

We stayed here for 2 nights on a Naturetrek tour. The room was very functional, but the beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. There doesn't appear to be many other hotels in this area and it is reasonably close to Jokulsarlon (iceberg lagoon). The evening meals were ok. Breakfast was more limited than other hotels we stayed...
