Hostal Ulap Yasica is my favorite place in the world, and for good reason. Situated on the outskirts of Matagalpa, it’s peaceful, eco-friendly, and the family that runs it makes you feel at home right away. I was here for a week during my mission trip to Matagalpa, and it was great to have such a comfortable place to go...

We had a great stay in hostel Ulap Yasica. Although it's located a bit outside the centre of Matagalpa I really really recommend this place. It is definitely one the most beautiful and sustainble hostels we've ever stayed in (solar energy, vegetables straight out of the garden, rainwater storage,...). The restaurant is great and in contrast with the rest of...

It's been a little while since I stayed there, but this place was so peaceful. It's up in the cool mountains of northern Nicaragua. The restaurant is delicious and serves a wide array of vegetarian food. The customer service is friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone staying in Matagalpa.

If you plan on walking everywhere and not taking a taxi every time, than don't book here. You have to walk along a highway for 3/4 of a mile before even reaching the edge of the city. It's also annoying that you have to ring the bell and wait like three minutes before a staff member shows up to let...

The whole place breaths relaxing, the food is amazing, they have very nice vegetarian and vegan options, the also have meaty options. The owners and staff are amazing. they cultivate their own veggies, isn´t that amazing? they have some basic luxuries (if such thing actually exists), hot water in the showers, wi-fi, a public use TV and comfy areas to...

I stopped here with some friends we didn't stay as we were on a tight schedule but the accommodation looks clean and the food was really good. It's located 2 blocks from the famous chocolate Castle and they have a nice garden on site. They cater for vegan and vegetarian which is refreshing :)

The place is very comfortable. Lots of wood which is just pine, nothing special. The dorms give the feel of being in a warehouse. There is a trendy menu for breakfast, but it does not seem to be very connected to locally available food issues. The hotel is a bit outside of the center of Matagalpa. Our taxi driver insisted...

Very welcoming, cozy and friendly hostal. Lots of young international passerby's make for great conversation, sharing stories and making friends. Dorm is a largish building with its own small living room and desk overlooking Maltagalpa scene. Lobby living room very comfortable with cable TV, games, fridge, etc.. Nicely decorated but noise from highway a bother until 10 p.m. Staff is...

Stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the great warm showers, wonderful breakfasts (take avena with milk and banana, really great), nice garden, friendly people. Living room area feels nice and homey. Only thing: be sure to bring repellent.

We spent a night at this hotel not enough time to enjoy their restaurant that we found out later has a very nice menu. the place is located just at the outskirts ok Matagalpa, we love the weather despite the noise of the trucks that drive by. pros: Warm water, restaurant, weather, room, plants, green. cons: Noise, needs updates.
