We stayed here for a couple of nights in Feb 2014. This is a grand old dame of a hotel that has seen better days. Rooms are older decor and the whole place is a little run down. Despite this, it has that wonderful sense of grandeur of a grand old hotel. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, full of birds...

We had the chance to spend 2 nights here last month. What a pleasant surprise when we climbed the steep hill (our little overloaded car almost didn't make it!) to find this exquisite and stately hotel, looking very much like a mansion on the hill. It is light, airy open, and the views are breathtaking. The two simple rooms we...

After traveling through the town of Matagalpa with narrow winding roads and up a steep hill we were rewarded with a beautiful hotel. The rooms were large and comfortable with balconies overlooking the gardens. Meals were served buffet style for our group and were tasty. The showers took us a little bit of figuring out to get hot water.

This was a very clean, friendly hotel. The breakfasts were delicious, and the openness of it was inviting. It is high atop a hill with a great view of the city. The door locks left much to be desired, but all in all, it seemed to be in a very secure location. A car is always needed when staying here...

Stayed here 4 nights while in area on mission trip. Though the rooms are somewhat dated, they are spacious and comfortable. Though not up to the standards of hotels in the US, this is not the US. We very much enjoyed our accomodations. Staff were friendly, especially in the beautiful open air restuarant. Food was very good, and typical to...

For the good: Beautiful, well-kept grounds (as you'll see on other "reviewers" pictures). Most of the food was pretty good. Big rooms (if you consider that a plus). As the for the rest oh the hotel: - Without a car, you won't be able to go anywhere. Hotel is secluded and the road to it is made of dirt (it's...

Location, location, location. This spacious hotel has incredible views of Matagalpa. We love sitting on the second or third floor, outdoor surround-balcany, sipping evening drinks and watching the parrots gather noisily for the night in the canopies surrounding the hotel. Lorie and I've spent about 8 or 9 nights here on two visits - one in 2012 and one in...

The hotel is considered "best in town". Location a little outside town and nice and quiet during day and night. The building has grandeur and garden space around it, regretfully its condition has known better days. The rooms are very large but with minimum furniture, they have a small fridge. Only a few rooms have air conditioning, the others just...

The Hotel is great. The rooms are very spacious and clean and every room has a balcony. Also when the hotel is on a mountain, the town center is not far away (5-10 min by foot). The restaurant is nothing special. the only public computer is very slow and you just have Wifi at the ground floor.
