My family and I spent two nights in this beautiful, quite place. It was like having our own private paradise, 5 kms. away from the city of Coban. It was orginally designed by an architect for his family, who lived there for a number of years before they turned it into a hostel. It has beautiful architectural details. It is...

We stopped in to Guatefriends Coban for an overnight stay with a party of 12. Our group had folks as old as 65 and as young as nine. Everyone enjoyed the quiet country setting and friendly staff. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast...healthy and well prepared and presented. Understand, this is a guest-house and the beds/sheets and water pressure are not...

Very beautiful house surrounded by trees and about 10 minutes from Coban. It's worth it to stay outside of town because you don't have all the noisy town noises at night like dogs barking to each other and fireworks going off early in the morning, etc. The family are helpful but not overbearing, they have travelled so they know what...

We love so much this place that we keep coming back. The tranquility and the ambiance of this place is superb, I had recommended friends to visit them and each of them had loved it. This time we got to stay inside the house which is a different experience, but as always was an incredible one. We had great dinner...

We loved it so much so that we came back for a few days. We just felt so relaxed and recharged. The house is absolutely beautiful and we felt...

I am very ashamed to say that we stayed at Guatefriends a year ago and I am just writing a review. We can't say enough good about the owners, Otto and Nora, and their family. They have welcomed us in their beautiful home and made us feel like family. We have enjoyed the gorgeous views and the rooms but more,...

By far the best experience we had in Guatemala! We stayed here the first leg of our trip and were welcomed in the home with open arms. The house is stunning, seriously, just beautiful. If you can splurge, get the private room on the second floor. It's fantastic with a beautiful view of the valley. The family that runs it...

I have stayed at Guatefriends a couple times and thoroughly enjoyed each visit. The family who owns this hostel is genuinely welcoming, accommodating and a great resource for information about local attractions and Guatemala in general. They will make you feel at ease whether you are traveling solo or with a group. Their location is peaceful and you are surrounded...

You can put the word "AMAZING" in front of each of the following nouns: ...Setting ...People ...Food ...Views ...Hospitality ...Value ...Architecture ...Art ...Atmosphere I honestly am returning to Coban this June with my girlfriend simply because this Hostel was amazing. The two main eco-attractions which I visited when we went last May are Semuc Champey and The Caves of King...
