Wonderful rooms. Great buffet breakfast. Short walk to town but far enough away to feel isolated. Lovely views across the river to the mountains. Lovely swimming pool. Helpful and professional staff. Will stay here again
Stayed in the Tai Dewan suite. What a room. Well appointed with a balcony that went on for ever. Great views. Brilliantly appointed room and suite. The whole resort is wonderful. There are great places to stay in vang vieng and the views are also...More

The best feature of the resort is its nice view of the river and mountain. The garden is well kept and the swimming pool seems to be well maintained though the color of the water is not really inviting ( green tiles?). The rooms we...More

Yes, we took a private transfer from the Riverside to Luang Prabang. It was quite expensive and probably not worth it if I'm honest. The hotel were surprised that we wanted a private transfer when they offer a minibus service themselves. I'd go for this option instead as the journey time is not significantly reduced with a private transfer. It took about 7 hours door to door with a couple of quick stops on the way. The journey is beautiful and you see a lot of 'real' Laos along the way, and a lot of different geography from flat plains to windy mountain roads.
Honestly though, I'd take the hotel minibus over a private transfer. It will save you money and not take much longer.
