I stayed for just one night in Room #12 and wished I had stayed longer to enjoy the beautiful views of the river & mountain from the balcony. #12 was clean, comfortable, with one large bed, powerful AC, a great shower, good lighting and an inviting balcony with chairs & sun beds & umbrella. We ate at the hotel restaurant...

about 3-5min tuk tuk ride from the bus station.Clean room,Great scenery. The staffs are helpful. They serve tasty local lao food. It's very quiet and peaceful staying here.Worth the price that I've paid for.You can easily walk to the boat service hut(just 1min walk from reception)to hire a boat ride along the Mekong river and enjoy the scenery.Wifi is available but it's strong...

My wife and I have recently stayed at this resort (as it is now called). I was somewhat worried by the previous review but I think the reviewer was somewhat hard on the hotel. Like him I was not impressed at the precooked eggs but we only had to ask and cooked to order were provided. As to the light...

This is now called Thavonsouk Resort but is far from a resort. We stayed two nights here recently on a tour of Laos. The location is excellent, especially the views from the balconies overlooking the river. However the rooms were very sparsely furnished. The light switch was by the door and so you had to walk back to the bed...

We stayed there for one night; we were travelling from Vientiane to Luang Prabang. The rooms were ok, a little run down, and not 100% clean, but what can you expect for 20$ for a twin room? The breakfast is served in the restaurant at the shores of the river. Really nice view, don't miss it!

First impressions: Not too terrible... not great either... just average. Mind you, it's not exactly a Hilton. Average B-plus. Costing between CD$60 (standard room) to CD$125 (riverview suite) per night, it's good value for its 3-star rating. Pros: Its location is quite good. It's one of many resort hotels lining the Song River at Van Vieng, Laos, a place infamous...

Not much too rave on as the room was quite old and bare: just a bed, TV on top of the frig, a clothes closet and a desk and chair. Had to bring in a chair from the deck. The drain in the shower was simply a hole cut into the floor. No covering. The deck had stunning views of the...

This hotel has the best location in town, right on the banks of the Song River with fantastic views over to the mountains, but the average rooms & rude staff ruin it. The breakfast goes from 7 to 9:30am, but they run out of food by 8:30 & they don't re-stock it. My friends & I were going to have...

Our room was dirty and poorly equipped. Security was poor -- no in-room safe, door secured with skeleton key. We were robbed of $500 by someone who entered room while we were at dinner -- easily accessed room door, and picked lock on suitcase containing valuable. Our own fault for leaving $$ in room, but be aware the place is...
