We were invited for a dinner buffet yesterday and it was an absolute delight! The buffet was diverse, offering a wide array of delicious dishes to choose from. The staff were also welcoming. We actually loved everything, from the tantalizing starters to the yummy desserts, every bite there was a culinary adventure. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience that left us completely satisfied and eager to return.

Very nice and relaxing stay.Really appreciate the hotel offering a birthday cake for my husband's 50th birthday. very courteous staff, especially Mrs Farzina and Mr Vikash from Infinity Blu as well as driver Waseem with whom we travelled for a tour of the estate. the Hotel gives a free shuttle to all residents to travel to specific locations around it for visits. the drinks at the bar were really genuine cocktails but they could be accompanied with a bit more varied appetizers such as peanuts as well. on the whole we had a great time and really enjoyed the hamman, sauna and jacuzzi. Hoping to go back one day soon.

Had an amazing time at Awali, the staff are super friendly, the room is big with lot of amenities, the breakfast is great and the sunset time magical. We had diner at the chateau and we highly recommend it. Also don’t forget to go to the coco shack! Ask Nicolas to prepare a ti punch coco at the zenzibar if you like cocktails, it’s delicious!

I would just like to say this hotel is fantastic! Staying with my family and we are all very much enjoying it. Food is amazing everyday, everything is lovely and clean. Beach is beautiful and love the fact it has sister hotel next door and shared restaurants etc. Golf course is also amazing. All the staff are really friendly and a big shout out to the kids club and medical team! Would definitely recommend and will come again !

From the beat of the drums as you arrive, the smell of the orange/cinnamon hotel scent from reception the mood is set for a relaxing holiday. Check in was easy, with choice of arrival drink. We requested a change of room due to location and this was resolved within 24hrs. Staff were all happy, helpful and attentive. Big shout out to Kolly, Bro & Nicolas for their great cocktail drinks in Zenibar. As a returning guest, it was lovely to see old familiar faces who gave us such a warm welcome back from Christina in the boutique, to Olivier on the beach and Farzinah in Infinity Blue. You guys make our time with you feel like a family reunion. A big shout out goes to Ramana, nothing is too much trouble. He is the Awali for us. Thanks to the ladies in Savanna too (Vanessa). The food selection has definitely improved since our last visit and provides guest with a taste of Mauritius. We were lucky enough to have an evening at Gin’ja, and this was our favourite dinning location. The sushi and sashimi is the best we’ve ever experienced in such a special location too. The new guest chef evening was a great success and we love that the Awali team also get to learn from global Michelin star chefs. This is only going to benefit the Awali guests in the future as they put their new found skills to the test. Our room was clean, comfortable and also had that hotel scent that says Awali to us. Sheila was a great room attendant. I was lucky enough to use the spa on a number of occasions. The treatments were just what I needed and the staff professional and friendly. Offering advice on the best options for me. Finally, the golf. I don’t play myself but my husband loves the Chateau course and was lucky enough to play on the new links course, La Reserve. The course is challenging but what views and in such great condition. Thanks to Deepa and the team for making our lunch with great views of the 18th hole so special. We will return again. Our only negative comment would be that each time we pay more and get less from the AI package. 10 days was not long enough in this small part of paradise.

I recently stayed at the Heritage Awali in Mauritius, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. The hotel boasts beautiful surroundings, but it falls very short in several areas. Firstly, the service was inconsistent and often disappointing. While a few staff members, like Oliver in the pool area ( who is far too good to work here),with his positivity and work ethic and Navish at the main lobby, provided excellent service, most other interactions left much to be desired. On reception after arguing about a late check out and the offers made on the hotel sites, I spoke to one lady called Jayshiny who was simply delightful and said I could pay 6000 rupees for the peace of mind - that was easy! Often one would wait for literally an hour for meals and receiving vague excuses became a common occurrence. The main general manager Jerôme Carlier is no where to be seen, despite asking to speak to him, however he does send a note to your room offering the chance to buy a villa onsite with a personal tour, a member of staff explained he only deals with VIP guests! Moreover, the state of the accommodations was disappointing. My bedroom had several issues, including a non-functional phone which proved painful in an emergency, air conditioning, a leaking toilet, and loose fittings. I even had to fix the balcony door myself. The cleanliness standards were subpar, with dust, broken plaster, and fixtures evident throughout. The presence of black mold in the bathroom was particularly concerning. The hotel’s hygiene standards were alarming, with plates left out after meals and a noticeable lack of cleanliness, especially concerning food safety. Birds, spiders, and other animals would often crawl over tables, especially as all restaurants have semi - outdoors buffet / restaurant areas, without any efforts made to prevent this. This posed a significant hygiene problem, particularly at the buffet where most dining took place. During the time my children and I became ill due to food poisoning from the hotel after we ate at boma, a number of guests also mentioned they felt unwell after eating there. A real low point for a trip, which meant the last few days were ruined and came with an expensive doctors bill! I think another ‘manager’ called Amar or something like this heard and said he was looking intoit , he seemed a very polite person with an interest in making it right. I was able to show staff in the morning how flies were crawling over pastries / fruit and they simply said they didn’t the covers needed and they were clearly overworked and tired. Additionally, other bar staff and waiters exhibited a poor attitude and would serve the more European looking guests by the pool rather than others, especially when catering to large groups, such as the recent influx of travel agents. It seemed they were more focused on impressing these groups, neglecting other customers who had to wait over two hours for some lunch. Asking for drinks included in my package like a Gordon’s gin or Jamesons whiskey 90% of times was met we ‘we are finished sir’. Drunk groups in the bar and loud music (if you are close to the main Zanzibar) will keep children up late, and it felt like cheesy / cheap euro resort than what I have seen in Mauritius. I say this with one exception, the chef Harjit Singh, food and service at Zafrani were suburb especially from the student staff from India, who are here temporarily, the Heritage group needs to hire these people. Furthermore, the issue with pool towels and the unhelpful attitude of staff members like Manisha added to the frustrations. The towel policy whilst good for the environment was cumbersome, and dealing with staff members like Manisha wasted valuable time and energy, she would argue when we asked for towels despite there being only 2 in our room and a family of 4! Why on earth would one argue about this in a 5 star hotel?! Overall, while the Heritage Awali has lovely surroundings and impressive sports facilities, as the tennis and golf were great! And I personally felt the gym was good despite reviews, it fails to deliver in terms of service, food quality (except Zafrani) and room standards. I would recommend considering alternatives such as the Telfair hotel for a more enjoyable / 5* stay. I would 1000% come pack with a group of guys to play golf and Tennis and enjoy the beers on tap, probably not with my family who prefer the more upmarket environment rather than running around the bar at all hours etc like most did. The hotel needs to rebrand to a 4 star all inclusive boozy experience or put in a new manager.

The service was poor - really really poor. Out of 5 drinks you order, you might get only 2 if you are really lucky. Most of the drinks orders get lost. You better order your drinks at the bar directly - considering there’s always a queue. The place seems well understaffed. On the bright side, the food was good with sufficient variety.

Absolutely loved our very first visit to Mauritius. From the entrance of Heritage Awali one already feels relaxed. Its peaceful and very elegantly decorated. The check in process was really easy and quick. The room itself was big and clean. The robes were a nice touch. The snack bar was replenished daily. I loved the depth of the bathtub and the way its positioned to be able to watch TV whilst soaking in the bath. The food at all the restaurants was great. We did not struggle to make a booking at any of the restaurants. The staff were AMAZING, everyone we encountered. I have nothing but praises for Heritage Awali.
