The room itself was decent for the price, however, there was a leaking faucet and the bed was very squeaky. The main problem was the breakfast. Not much to choose from and it didn't vary in offerings. After three days we had to go somewhere else. It could be nice if they would keep things filled up and offer more choices. People were always asking if they could bring more. Sometimes they did other times not. It also ends at 8:30. Another 30 minutes would help. Probably won't be back.

The Pioneer Lodge is a comfortable motel style accomodation ideally placed for a trip to Zion national park. All the amenities of Springdale were within easy walking distance and there are restaurants close by. Staff were very helpful and we would stay here again

The check in was quick and easy. The rooms are very clean and have a good size. They also have a little kitchen area with a microwave, plates and such. Oddly no silverware.

The decor is log pole including much of the furniture. The location is great for walking along the main road to shops and restaurants. The pool seemed closed, but looked nice. Not sure if the closure was related to the current situation.

We just stayed in this hotel over the Easter weekend. I agreed to a higher price than I would normally pay because is was a holiday and I was told we would have breakfast provided. Breakfast was a tiny frozen burrito that we had to microwave ourselves and the smallest apple I've ever seen. This grab and go service was only available between 8-9, which meant we missed out 2/3 mornings. We stayed here for the close access to the park and hiking and wanted to be on the trails early. There was a total lack of even trying to provide what they promised. All of the images on the website must be years old. This place is run down and the establishment do not seem to be doing anything to fix it up. The panels of the kitchen drawer fell off in my hand. The towel rack had to be put back together several times. They didn't even try to paint over the patches in the wall. The 'picnic area' is one bench and a BBQ in the parking lot- only one parking spot away was the dumpster. The pool... they said it was closed for the season... it was so dirty, I can not imagine that the season will open up any time soon. The washer dryer was out of order, drinks machine in the lobby was out of order, and ash trays were left all over the balcony. The staff at the front desk seemed completely uninterested in being there or helping in any way. I left my jacket in the room when we left. I called and emailed the following day and got no response. I went in and got it back from the cleaning crew, but the front desk were completely unhelpful and unresponsive. I think charging full price and advertising the amenities in this way is completely unethical. DO NOT STAY HERE. There are so many cute places near by.

Last minute reservation here due to canceling a previous reservation at another nearby hotel. Ended up with a two queen bed room with my husband due to the reservation being last minute. Interior design looks like a log cabin. Has everything you need in the room, including coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. Staff was great and very hospitable.

The major issue my husband and I had was the duvet covers werw clearly not replaced prior to our stay. Looked like a bug was killed with the comforter and it was smeared on the duvet. I had called the receptionist to request our bedsheets and specifically the duvet covers to be changed because of the residue. Upon our return to our room after visiting Bryce Canyon, I immediately inspected the duvet covers and the same spots were still there. My husband ended up requesting new duvet covers from a housekeeper cleaning a room near ours and we just decided to replace it ourselves.

I'll start off with the good. The location is great and very close to to Zion's entry. You can even walk to restaurants and the Springdale laundromat.
Now for the rest. Our family was on a road trip. We specifically picked this place because the website advertises laundry on site and breakfast. When we tried to do laundry both machines were broken! The front desk wasn't sure if they worked or not and so had to put our clothes and detergent in before we can determine if they worked. They refunded us and then we ended up walking across the street to do laundry at the laundromat.
The website also advertises breakfast. This is a grab and go breakfast and is only from 8-9am! However, if you want to hike before they shut down the road, you need to be there by 7:30am at the latest (we were there before the shuttles started which means you drive your own car. They shut down the entry once the lots are full).
Also WiFi was weak.

Choose another if you are considering this hotel. Poor customer service, although the woman at the counter earlier in the day was pleasant and helpful, The girl later in the day when we checked in at 5 pm was very, very bad (see detail below). They seem to have trouble staffing the front desk.

Our room was O.K., but in need of repair. A constant drip, drip, drip from a leaking bathtub faucet. A toilet that wouldn't flush unless the handle was held down.

Very narrow parking spaces. So narrow that if the car next to you wasn't exactly even in the space next to you, you couldn't get into your car (see pic.)

On checking in 10/11 around 5 pm, there was no one at the front desk (again) so I called the number shown on the front door. The first time I called, I was disconnected. I called again and someone answered and said someone else would have to check us in, and they would text them.

Some time after, a young girl walked in the lobby carrying an arm full of toilet paper and other things. She walked right past us, completely ignoring us without saying a word, like we didn't exist. She then proceeded to slowly put the things she brought in away.

I said "excuse me, we'd like to check in." She said "can you wait until I finish putting these things away?" and continued this task. I then asked her "can what you are doing wait? we already paid for the 4 nights". She said that "you didn't say anything to me when I walked in, so I started to put the things away." I said "well, we wouldn't be standing in the lobby if we didn't want to check in".

She then got all huffy and rude to us, and started to check us in, slamming the sign in sheet and pen on the counter. She gave us the room key (107), slamming it on the counter and didn't tell us where the room was. I had to ask where it was, and all she said "down there", not even pointing in a general direction.

My boyfriend and I booked the Pioneer Lodge very last minute on a busy weekend so I understand the up charge (it was a lot) but I will say I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the lodge. At first glance, the room was clean enough BUT after removing my shoes and walking around in my brand new socks, my socks were BLACK (see pictures). That is soooo unacceptable and disgusting especially during this time where hygiene and cleanliness matters. I mentioned something to the cleaning staff and nothing was done. The floors were sticky and dirty and after reading other reviews, it looks like this wasn’t the first time this has happened.

The location was great and the parking lot always had spots, but the lack of cleanliness for the price point was not worth it.

Dear 263haleyb, I want to genuinely apologize for the experience you had at our hotel recently. Providing the best service, cleanliness, and value to our guests is our highest priority. I was surprised to read your review because we have a great housekeeping staff and are proud of the work they do. However, there were obviously some mistakes made in the cleaning process in your room, and I definitely understand your frustration. Again, I am very sorry. We have worked hard to make our property a popular stop for travelers in the area, and we hope you will give us another chance. I assure you that this issue has been addressed and we would love another opportunity to not only meet but exceed your expectations. Sincerely, Management

The good: Location is close to Zion shuttle stops. Rooms fairly clean.
The not so good:
1) The office was locked up tight when we arrived to check in at 8:50 am after a long drive. Had to wait for someone to arrive to the property to check us in.
2) Window was not lockable. We were able to place a pole onto the track so that the window could not be opened overnight. Needed to get a window track lock when the office was open the next day so that we were safe at night and our stuff could be secure while gone during the day.
3) The first thing that greeted me when I went to set my stuff on the bedside table was a grubby handwritten tip envelope. I have been travelling the world for over 45 years and never encountered such a rude ask for extra money on arrival.
4) There was no "do not disturb sign" to place on the door. Had to ask for one. and needed tape to secure it on the door.
5) The parking lot is ridiculous with very narrow spaces. Unless you drive a little smart/compact car, the lines will disappear under your vehicle.
6) The water in the shower was difficult to turn on and even more difficult to regulate the temperature.
7) The place is really more like a motel and very overpriced, likely because of proximity to the National Park.
On future trips to Zion, we will find a place further away with better value for money and either drive to the park or find parking in Springdale and take the shuttle to the park.
We were on a 9 day road trip and used several hotels. Interestingly, this was the only lodging that we did not receive a request to review.

The AC was working 3 minutes every 1/2 hour, useless when it is 38 degrees + outside. The breakfast, included in the price, was a real joke and uneatable. The room small and the bathroom needless to say frankly small (don’t be too big). No ice available. Receptionist did not understand what an invoice meant and why it may be useful to the customers.
Overall, no attention or care to the customers. They seem to live on the geography, i.e. by the Zion NP entrance
Do not recommend.

I think you should just all the front desk. The hot tub was open in January. The (small) pool might be open in March, but the temperatures in Springdale are not that warm so early in the spring.
