The Cliffrose Springdale, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, garners praise for its outstanding service, with staff members who are commended for their attentiveness and dedication to guest experiences. Its prime location, a stone's throw from Zion Park and surrounded by breathtaking canyons, is a highlight for many guests. While some find the hotel on the expensive side, others believe the scenic views and resort-like atmosphere—with immaculate grounds and cozy fire pits—offer good value. Rooms are generally celebrated for their spaciousness and cleanliness, though a few minor maintenance issues are noted.

This hotel is in an excellent spot just a few minutes walk from Zion National Park, and it has some lovely rooms. Ours overlooked the river with the mountains opposite, and had a balcony. There were the usual facilities of coffee maker and fridge, and with a camp shop just between the hotel and the park you could buy and store milk and keep your beer cold! We had two meals in the hotel restaurant where there was plenty of choice and were well cooked, but we were disappointed to be told that on one of the evenings of our stay a large bus load staying in the hotel meant we couldn't use the restaurant - even though we were staying there too??!!
This must be one of the best hotels available for those visiting Zion. Despite busy days in the park we felt well rested when it was time to move on.

We stayed two nights on our 12 day Southwest National Parks Road trip. It was a very nice Hilton property. While the room was very clean (a must during the current pandemic) and nicely decorated, it was on the small side and could have used a microwave. There was a microwave and coffee in the lobby that we ended up taking advantage of. Our remote control for the tv didn’t work. We called down and someone came to our room put a battery in it saw that it still didn’t work and he said he’d come back with a new remote; we never saw him again. For a hotel that cost us over $400 a night (luckily we used a free night certificate for one of the nights) I think that’s a bit ridiculous. As Diamond members we received free breakfast, which was some of the best breakfast we had on the trip, but the second day it took a full hour to get our breakfast even though we ordered it right when they opened. They had two pools with spas, (the pools were very warm and our kids went swimming at 8am), a little playground, and it sat on the Virgin River.
The property as a whole was beautiful and clearly you’re paying for the beauty of the land around you, the 5-10 min walk to Zion, and the short drive into town.
We’d stay here again in the future if we could get a better price.

Being off season there is a good chance you won't find many restaurants open. This place has a full kitchen so you can bring your own food and prepare in the suite. We loved the location, as we could walk to food service, the park entrance as well as the race (1/2 marathon) venue and finish line. the views right outside the door are amazing and the river access is steps away as well. This was off season and it was very very peaceful. Across the Virgin River is a large campground and that may create more noise during the summer season. the river can also add a calming sound.
- great views, amenities and access to Zion -

We have stayed at a wide range of different quality level hotels so it is pretty easy for us to compare amenities with pricing. Although the location and the bedroom was really nice, our one bedroom suite was lacking in amenities associated with high-end hotels. These are little things but when you're paying top dollar for a room you expect them to be there. For example, there were no towel racks in the bathroom and there were no hooks to hang the robes on. There were no premium channels on the cable. The shower was tiny, the toilet out in the open, and the lighting over the vanity was very strange. There was no mention that the restaurant was closed due to Covid. The living room was very dark and the furniture uncomfortable. Having said that, the staff was friendly and the grounds were nicely maintained. Save hundreds of dollars and book elsewhere.

So, I, like another recent reviewer, stayed in room 124 during February 2020. This was my first stay in a Curio Collection hotel and i understand this hotel is very new to the Hilton portfolio. I do agree with him, the parking situation is interesting to say the least, but it’s not exactly a deal breaker. Parking spots are less than 100 feet away if the 4 spots directly in front of the room are occupied.

That said, he was dead on about the noise. The noise from upstairs sounds like a herd of elephants. I didn’t sleep well as a result. I’m not sure if it’s just this room, but I don’t see many other complaints about noise in these bottom-level rooms. This room is very dark, even during the day as it has the smallest window space (and patio space) on the property, along with a few maintenance issues such as the wall patch next to the patio switches is horrible with and needs to be addressed. Due to a utility closet, The room lighting is either extremely bright bare bulbs or flickering fluorescent accent lighting in behind the headboards. I could not set the thermostat at a comfortable temperature, it was either way too cold or way too hot, even adjusting by one degree. Unfortunately, the phone also doesn’t work well either until you figure out you need to unplug it and plug it in again before every call, even for calls to the front desk or within the hotel. Dimmers would be extremely welcome. The rooms are very clean and the housekeeping staff superb. Others in the room thought the carpet looked worn, I think it was actually newer but made to look vintage.

The location is ideal and the grounds and views simply stunning, probably better if the window is over two feet wide, though. The hot tub is open 24 hours and I enjoyed it greatly. I would have taken a swim, but the pool needed some cleaning, it had quite a bit of leaves either floating or sunken on the bottom.

The staff at this hotel is excellent and very accommodating. I ate 3 meals at the restaurant and they were all wonderful and the restaurant staff was amazing and personable and the prices are very reasonable. Get the Clifflodge Omelet, if you have breakfast here.

Do not let the front desk assign room 124 to you unless the property is completely full and you only have Blue Honors status.

We stayed in a large river-view room with a large deck, which was perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. The beautiful bathroom was well-equipped with products that were replenished before we ran out. The location was less than a 5-minute walk from the Zion Visitor Center and Zion Outfitters ( if you need to rent the water package for hiking The Narrows). We didn't use our car at all when we arrived as the various free shuttles took us everywhere we needed, but there is a Tesla Charging Station nearby.

The good the bad and the Ugly

My wife and I booked this rather expensive higher end hotel after researching the curio designation for Hilton properties. We stayed for 3 nights during the week to celebrate our anniversary.
The Good:
Very conveniently located with in walking distance of the Zion visitor Center.
Excellent Mountain Views if your were able to see through the very large trees that were obstructing our views.
Friendly/ personable/ helpful front desk folk. ( one exception)
The bad:
We arrived early and a very attentive gentleman took my cell number and told me he was going to phone me when our room was ready, which unfortunately never happened.
We were informed that the restaurant was closed, but that room service was available
For breakfast only.
The staff suggested we could explore the property and gave us a map, it didn’t take long to realize that this property was far from what I would call a “garden”, there were weeds in most all the beds, not just a few weeds but mostly weeds covering them. Trees and shrubs were growing unchecked. Saw several weedy vines growing amongst the scrubs.
Watering hoses just left in plain view, piles of mulch as well
As wheel barrels and shovels left out through our entire stay. We walked along the river only to see what appeared to be pvc pipes, debris and plant material that appeared to have just been dumped behind the pool area.
There were quite a few rooms that had portable gas grills on the balconies and some in the common spaces along with chairs, which seemed out of place. Several spare propane tanks in plain view. I had the feeling I was at a college apartment complex rather than a higher end hotel.
Our room although small, and clean, couldn’t be to a Hilton standard. We could hear the neighboring occupants above us walking and talking.

The Ugly,
No one seemed to care:
We had a nice sitting area that was not only covered with weeds, but had of trash that we cleaned up.
On the day before we departed there were dirty breakfast dishes, napkins, silverware and several beer bottle screw tops when we left for the day, when we returned the dishes still there, the next morning greeting us again. We had to walk by this mess every time we entered and exited our room.
That same day, our room wasn’t made up. We called the front desk, we were informed that housekeeping had left for the day and they must have missed us, the gentleman came to the room while we were at dinner and tidied up abit , left us towels and amenities.
The property would benefit with a purchase of a chain saw, pruning sheers, power washer, leaf blower and someone who cared enough to use them!!

Hello Imlookingforquality, My sincere apologies for the less than 5-star review. I only wish you had spoken to us about these issues before your departure. We don't like for any guest to leave with an unsatisfactory stay especially while celebrating a special occasion. That is true that closer to the front desk area there will be some beautiful trees ( mostly all fruit trees), but the river and lawn area are only a few seconds away from each individual room. We have lots of sitting areas and tables throughout the property for guest use. I will most definitely read your review with all our staff to ensure guest/hospitality satisfaction with each and every guest. Once again my most utmost sincere apologies for your stay and please feel free to reach out to me personally to speak more in detail about your stay. We had a lovely three night stay here. The hotel is clean, beautifully decorated, and offers incredible views of the canyons. The location is also fantastic, just a short walk to the Zion National Park Visitors Center. Staff was friendly and efficient and the property is laid out in a way that makes it wonderfully conducive to relaxation (and COVID social distancing).

My only complaints are as follows:
The pools were very dirty. There were bugs and leaves in all four pools (two pools, two hot tubs). There was also a lot of dust in the pools. I understand that this hotel is in the middle of nature, that's the point, but then the pool should be skimmed more than once a day.
I was also a bit disappointed in their handling of COVID. While the property makes social distancing easy and masks were required indoors (county restrictions) they chose to eliminate all housekeeping. While I certainly want to keep all members of staff safe, there is little evidence that the virus can spread in a room after someone has been there (even Dr Fauci still has his cleaning staff clean his home). On top of that, rooms need to be cleaned once a guest leaves. I wish the hotel would have allowed a more granular approach to housekeeping and provided guests with options that they felt comfortable with.

We were a family of 5 that stayed a single night during our recent trip to the 5 Utah national parks.

1. Recognition of Diamond status and received an upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite.
2. The suite was huge. However the layout is strange in that it is the 1st time I have encountered the bathroom not being attached directly to the master bedroom, whereas it was directly attached to the 2nd bedroom with 2 beds. Although the bathrooms were large, the shower area was too small and water pressure could have been stronger.
3. Close proximity to entrance of Zion so there is no need to drive, so was really convenient. Walk to the park was pleasant with much green areas and a stream.
4. Price of breakfast items at the restaurant were reasonable given the large portions. We wanted to takeaway but it was nice that staff delivered the items to our suite with the same silverware that would have been used had we eaten in the restaurant instead of takeaway boxes.
5. Nice to have coffee and tea, with a selection of milk available in the lobby all hours of the day.
6. Since we had 4 people in the room, it is strange that only 2 bottles of water was provided rather than 4. But this is a small matter.

We redeemed our free night from Hilton Honors Amex card. However, we would not have paid for it given the very hefty 90K points or about US$600+ needed for the entry level room at the time of booking.

Nonetheless great stay and we wished we could have spent more time there.

The location of this hotel cannot be beat. We had a room with a Riverside view and the view was just absolutely stunning beautiful lush green grounds with a flowing river with the mountains in the background. I never wanted to leave. This hotel was great for our family because we were on a road trip and they had self serve washer and dryer at two dollars each which is extremely reasonable. They also provided complementary washing and drying packets. We ordered room delivery from Anthera for breakfast and dinner and it was absolutely amazing. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and caring. Overall our two night stay was just spectacular thank you so much.

GREAT QUESTION! Most of the Cliffrose was built in 1988 with the exception of our Riverside Suites (2013) and our Grand View Villas (2019). We did an entire property renovation in 2019 that included all of our rooms, suites, and common areas. Our room designs are Rustic chic, which can be mistaken for aged/dated. However, most of our in-room furniture, fixtures, and decor are from RH, Anthropology, and pottery Barn with Imported rose-colored wool carpets in all the rooms and suites. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you!
