The Holiday Inn Express Springdale - Zion Natl Park Area earns praise for its clean and spacious rooms, complete with modern amenities, although a few guests note issues with lighting and dated features. Its welcoming atmosphere, enhanced by modern furnishings and well-maintained grounds, is frequently highlighted, as is the friendly and helpful hotel staff.
While the varied amenities, including a commendable breakfast selection, are appreciated, some guests mention the inconvenience of pool renovations and limited dining options. The hotel's location is popular among guests for its easy access to Zion National Park and nearby restaurants, though some find the overall value diminished by the high costs, including parking fees.

Hotel's Favourite
Nice comfortable place to stay while exploring Zion. The rooms are clean, spacious and ours had a great view of the scenery behind the hotel. The outdoor patio and fire pits were a great place to hang out with a drink after dinner. Several restaurants withing an easy walk. A "general store" was close by for basic necessities. Staff was friendly and efficient. There is a free trolley stop #6 in front of the hotel to get to the park entrance. Parking is free and readily available. We have stayed here twice over the last 7 years and the quality has not wavered.

While this was one of the more expensive places we stayed during our Utah road trip, it was TOTALLY worth it (and honestly not THAT much more expensive than some other hotels in less popular areas). The best thing about staying here was the free parking and the free shuttle to Zion's visitor center. We didn't have to drive at all during our two days here, which meant no waiting in line at 4 am to get a parking spot near the park.
The room itself was huge! Lots of space to unpack and get ready for your hikes. The desk staff was SO friendly and helpful, and everything was kept very clean. Breakfast was offered in a COVID-friendly manner, and the outside areas of the property offer great views. We didn't go in the pool, but it looked awesome!

We were greeted with a smile and a friendly front desk employee and delicious chocolate chip cookies! What a wonderful way to start a stay! The reception area is beautiful. There was a large roaring fireplace and plenty of places to sit. There are several fire pits outside and a hot tub. The breakfast buffet was excellent and I have to say we were very impressed with Jerry, the custodian of the buffet. He came by to make sure we had everything we needed each morning and he kept the breakfat area spotless. (Someone please give him a raise, he deserves it!). There were multiple porches to sit outside in rocking chairs on every floor, it was beautiful. The only negative I could mention was our room was a little dated. It could have used a nice bright coat of paint and some new carpet, but we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. The bed was very comfortable. What else could you need? Not a thing. It was lovely. Shopping was scarce in February, bring food and drinks if possible.

We stayed at this Holiday Inn Express in Springdale, UT, while visiting Zion National Park. Springdale, and the hotel are located just outside the park entrance.
We arrived with a large tour group and our bags were delivered to our rooms in short order. I was thoroughly taken by surprise by the incredible scenery this hotel is set in; there are rock cliffs as a backdrop, as well as across the street, providing a setting one will not soon forget. Our room was on the front side of the hotel, and was a large spacious, spotless one that was well appointed with plenty of desk space for a laptop and charging multiple devices. A large refrigerator provided needed space for snacks and drinks we had brought with us. The bathroom was very clean, with plenty of towels and toiletries provided.
There is an area near the front desk that houses an area for snacks and beverages for sale. Near the front lobby is the dining area for the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast had a good variety of cereal, bread for toast, butter, jelly/jam, juices, coffee, tea, waffle machines, and bacon or sausage; plenty to fill up on to anyone’s taste.
In back of the hotel is a fire pit that was very comforting to sit around at night, and a good size pool just beyond that. There is plenty of seating around the back terrace to hang out and enjoy the outstanding scenery.
On the front side of the hotel is a Springdale Shuttle stop that runs through Springdale, although Springdale is easily walked for those able to do so. There are numerous places to eat and shops of all kinds throughout Springdale. The Springdale Shuttle runs to the park entrance where the Zion National Park Shuttle system can be transferred to.
This was one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed at for the scenery and great service for our short stay. I wish we could have stayed longer, and would look forward to staying at this hotel on a return to Zion National Park.

My first step at the hotel this trip was two nights. I was immediately greeted by two front desk staff with such a welcoming attitude. They inquired about how my travels had been, what my trip plan was, and offered recommendations. They clearly explained the facilities and the safety precautions in place. My room was gorgeous and clean, with a comfortable bed. I have a practice of wiping down all surfaces in the room with my own wipes and as I proceeded to do that, each wipe turned up totally clean, even the inside of the Keurig machine! I throughly enjoyed watching the gorgeous sunset on the red rocks behind the hotel sitting by the fire pit. The breakfast selection was exceptional and staff were seen constantly wiping down surfaces. They also checked in on how everything was and whether I needed everything else. It was a quick ride to Zion and easy walking access to everything downtown. My stay was so fantastic that I cancelled my booking at a different hotel for my return through Zion and rebooked here. On my second stay, I was equally blown away. I would stay again in a heartbeat!

I really cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. It is a beautiful property with picturesque canyons right behind it. It is literally located about a mile from the Zion front gate, south entrance (a few minutes by car). From checkin with Chasidy through checkout, we had an awesome experience during our 2 night stay. Because of COVID, they maintain extra safety measures and social distancing. The rooms themselves were great, accommodating for our family, and also our dogs! One of the few pet friendly places in Springdale. The front desk staff were so helpful that they even planned well in advance of our arrival to put our 3 rooms right next to each other, near an exit on the ground level to accommodate a handicapped family member even though they were fully sold out! Full hot breakfast was available, which we just took to go to eat in our room. We had a few rooms including a junior suite to accommodate our larger family, which had a little kitchenette ( full size fridge, microwave, toaster and sink). The double queen rooms also had mini fridge and microwave. There was a place to walk dogs behind the hotel, which included bags to pick up after your dog. We took our kids on a walk on the grounds just behind the hotel as well. Beautiful place and such great memories! Thank you for everything Holiday Inn Express Springdale! We will come back again!

Our hotel room was immaculate as was the rest of the hotel. Our shower was hot with great water pressure. Our mattress and pillows were exceptional and very comfortable; making for a wonderful night's sleep. The breakfast options and quality of food was the same as every other Holiday Inn Express on the planet. So why only two stars? As a long-time Spire Elite and Spire Ambassador, I asked for a late 3pm check-out and was told it was not a problem on check-in. On day of departure, I was told by a different clerk that we could not check out as late as was agreed upon when I checked in two days earlier. We had to cut one of our Zion morning hike's short on the last day as a result of this hotel's lack of consistency in training their people. Incompetence on the general manager's part and nothing less. I will not stay at this IHG property a second time. I recommend finding another hotel in the area.

Responded 7 Mar 2020
Hi Aventyr360, Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for posting a candid review. While I am glad that we were able to provide for your accommodation needs, I was also concerned to read about the issues with your late check out request. I understand your dismay and I am sorry. This is not the frictionless experience that we wanted for all our guests and I will make sure to share your comments with our team for necessary improvements needed on our end. Thanks again and I still hope you would give us another chance in the future. Mike F. Case Manager IHGService

Overall our experience here was good. However, considering other hotel choices, I think it needs updating in their rooms and hallways. I felt squished in the bathroom and the furniture was old. When someone was coming down the hallway with their luggage it sounded like an airplane runway. The elevator ding is loud!
On the good side, the breakfast was very COVID friendly with individually wrapped...everything...cups, utensils, bagels drinks and sandwiches. I enjoyed something different to eat every day while we were there.

This hotel is fabulous. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The hot tub is HOT and the pool area again very clean. Towels by the pool, and jets work great. Beautiful view form the pool area.
The beds are very comfy, and I felt the room was very quiet.
The breakfast had breakfast sandwiches, make your own pancakes, everything you could want.
The front desk staff, very friendly-every one of them.
Great vacation -thank you !!

Exhausted from a full fun day of exploring, the last thing you want is trouble checking into your room.
The lock on our door was broken from the inside. Called front desk, who said never heard of such a thing. Maintenance arrived, spent more time talking than doing, adding theory of how the maids did it.Explained would have to remove the entire lock system to fix but the security bar should hold. Never once offered to move to new room but really who wants to repack everything at 10pm. Shouldn’t a room be in working order before guests arrive? The shower handle was our next problem, as others have pointed out. Because the lock was broke, we automatically assumed the shower was broke too so did not want to force it. Spoke in person to front desk, was informed how to work it. If it is a common question make a sign.
The reception area and breakfast area nice, just update your rooms!
I have stayed at 4 other hotels in the area and as a member of IHG I am sad to say I would not stay here again but choose one of those.

The breakfast is buffet style and available from 6am until 10am. Options include eggs, meat selection, breads, hot & cold cereal, coffee, juice, milk, yogurt, fresh fruit & cinnamon rolls.
I had 2 communicating rooms, with 2 queen beds, there is a microwave and a small refrigerator and a Keurig coffee maker in each room. Each room had a bathroom. Sorry that I can’t tell you the amenities of a Junior suite for this hotel specifically, but I had a junior suite in Miami, and there was a king size bed and a queen size sofa bed with the above mentioned room amenities. Best info will be by contacting direct to the hotel.
Our outdoor pool open's usually in May but is weather dependent. It will most likely be closed in March.
No as far as I can remember there was no contactless check-in.
