One bathroom - 5 showers, 2 toilet cubicals for the men not sure about the women but it's similar. This services 28 rooms on the upper level. I have stayed in plenty of cheap hotels with shared facilities but it is usually 5 to 10 rooms sharing and the price is nothing like what this place charges but more like...

There is no getting around the fact that the place is old! But it has been kept up reasonably well, and fits with such an historic park. Its location is a bit of a "get away" from the throngs up top in Yosemite Valley, at least when we visited in late May. As mentioned in the headline, it has great...

We just spent two nights at Big Trees lodge, and the charm of the old building and quiet grounds are lovely. However, because it is an historic property, be prepared to climb stairs for some rooms, and our room did not have a private bath. We had to use a toilet in the outdoor hallway, and the showers were two...

While the name has unfortunately changed, the stay at this historic hotel was even better than the last. We were warmly received by the desk clerk, Becky, and the outstanding accommodations were consistent during our two night stay there. It was like a step back in time and that is a good thing. No TV. The WiFi is relegated to...

Beautiful location just inside Yosemite on the south side. Well worth a visit. Have stayed here many times, never disappointed. Restaurant very good, too, for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Tom Bopp plays piano in the evenings--great atmosphere. Reasonably priced rooms, especially those with a shared bathroom.

Stayed at Big Trees For the second time in several years. It is like a step back in time. No phone, no tv, only one small lounge to get internet and in my case a shower and W C down the porch way. That being said, being off the grid is not bad when the piano player shows up in...

Antebellum feel, very relaxed and serene surroundings. We arrived in the evening driving straight from SFO airport, and we were given a very comfortable room at the edge of the property. Our room was one of those without an adjacent bathroom, and the communal bathroom is two short flights of stairs. Overall, it wasn't bad - bathrobes and towels were...

Big Trees is the new name for what used to be the Wawona Hotel which is a set of historic wooden buildings in the Yosemite park. This was our second visit, the first was a few years ago when it was still called the Wawona. This is a hotel you have to accept on its own terms, the buildings were...

Would have been nice if when we called to book, we were told it was not in the Valley. We specifically asked for a Hotel located there. Rooms were very nicely appointed, but I would suggest getting a room with your own bathroom. Also, do not have coolers or food in your vehicles as you have to trek it all...
