Our room for the one night was located on the backside above the grassy area where deer came to nibble in the early eve and in the morning. Looking for the stars outside in the evening we could see cliff climbers still working to settle in for the night high above us. Though the room was dated, it and the... More

Upon arrival we were surprised to find that we were being sent to one of the cabins, down a path with no view. I would rate it at the level of a roadside motel, not anything like a $400 per night room. The heater was completely inadequate, the bath had hair on the wall of the tub and in the... More

This place is 90 years old. It's been upgraded a few times since then but still has some work to do. I guess they're trying to keep that rustic feel. It is extremely expensive for what you get. You're paying Ritz Carlton prices for Best Western accommodations. If you're staying in the cottages do not accept #720. It's right next... More

Was thoroughly looking forward to our stay at the Majestic Yosemite Hotel, fka The Ahwahnee. Had been over 22 years since our last visit to the hotel and Yosemite. The grandeur of the hotel is just as you see in photos, spectacular. Afternoon arrival at the hotel was chaotic: valet/bell hops seemed understaffed & overwhelmed. Check-in was a line with... More

After reading some of the previous reviews I was delighted to find the construction all but over. My husband and I found the 2nd floor room, facing Half Dome very comfy and certainly large enough with a comfortable king bed. The pillows sounded a little plastic when we rolled over while sleeping. We arrived at 3:30, half an hour before... More

I booked two Classic Rooms for 3 nights to celebrate a special birthday with 2 friends. Even though pricey, it was worth it to be in such a beautiful hotel and surroundings. The hotel accommodated my request of having adjoining rooms. Our rooms were very comfortable and spacious with a great view. Birthday dinner in the elegant dining room was... More

Been to Yosemite many times but never had the money to stay even one night at the Awahnee now Majestic Hotel. At $504 per night, it's not part of a camper/hiker's budget. So after a lot of budgeting I finally did it for 2 nights. It's a grand old hotel that is no Ritz Carlton or St. Regis. You stay... More

The price and value is all about the hotel's location. Our "Featured Room" provided a jaw-dropping view of Half Dome from the balcony. Dining reservations should be made well in advance of arrival - reservations can be made online from the "Lodging" page of the hotel web site or by calling 209-372-1489. Dining room is magnificent, featuring 2-1/2 story windows... More

Grat hotel with rooms in the main building and some cabins each having 2 rooms. In the cabin you are in the wood, he deer and coyoyes cross your path. The distance to the hotel is max 100 yards, but it feela as if you are in anther world. The rooms are recently refurbished and they kept the character of the... More

This trip was one night only. Wish we could have stayed longer but not this time! Last nights dinner was very good and we had excellent servers that have been here for decades! Our room was excellent and large. Bathroom is pretty small! The view last night was stunning as we could see the moon from our window.
