The place is fantastic and so is the architecture. The rooms are big with insuperable views. They have a nice big chimney to enjoy during the cold weather. We went there between december and january. Superb new year ambience.

We all love the breakfast buffet but it's a bit pricey. The Sunday one is worth the splurge. It's not easy getting a dinner reservation, so call in advance. They seem to reserve a few spots for those staying at the hotel (Yay!). The waterfalls were flowing this past November 2016 - just amazing!!!

We visit this property at least once a year and it never ceases to charm. Established in 1927 the Ahwahnee Hotel now sadly renamed the Majestic glows with history and rustic beauty. Over the years there has been a slow crawl to modernize its amenities whilst still retaining the historical and quaint elements. When pricing lodging one cannot compare The Ahwahnee...

I have always wanted to stay at one of the early Lodges of The National Parks. Up until now the closest thing was an imitation, The Wilderness Lodge, at Disney. We stayed two nights at the Majestic. One in the Main Lodge, and the other in the cottages. They areboth part of The Grand Majestic. To get to the cottages...

This was our 6th winter visit. We keep coming back for the magnificent setting, the gorgeous common rooms with the fireplaces and comfy couches. It feels like home. The staff is friendly, welcoming and unobtrusive. That all being said, it's expensive for the accommodations. Don't expect a Four Seasons, it's a National Park hotel. It's well used, a bit tattered...

For a national parks history nut like myself, the opportunity to spend a night at the Majestic Yosemite Hotel (Awahnee) was a treat. I had a gorgeous view of Yosemite Falls, a quiet room, air conditioned (the weather was over 100 degrees and I'd stayed at Big Trees the night before with only a fan) and with beautiful furnishings. I...

This place is great. We went for the Bracebridge dinner on Dec. 22, 2016 and stayed 2 nights. It was wonderful! We ordered a cheese plate from the kitchen and it was fantastic cheese, highly recommended! The Hotel is true to its original vintage charm and the rooms are clean and accommodating. I am pretty anxious while traveling and picky...

Yosemite Valley was full, so we stayed at a nice hotel 30 minutes away. It would have been MUCH BETTER to stay at the Majestic. It was about 12* at night and difficult to walk on the ice to our car in the dark wearing dress shoes. Then we had to drive very slowly and carefully for 30 minutes. On...

After the needed renovation it has inevitably lost part of it's charm, but it's still a gem. Nice, though small, pool. Great cocktails in an unbeatable setting. Breakfast is great, dinning is not (mediocre food and cheesy piano). High season is too crowed, it feels like a touristy resort sometimes. I will avoid summer in the future.
