We tent camped during July and were pleased with the site; it was sufficiently large to accommodate our family tent and fairly close to the restrooms and water spigot. In our location, we felt we had privacy and enough space from the other sites. The restroom facilities were adequate and similar to other National Parks. Nothing great, but the restrooms... More

Busy site and one of the very few open in October. We had an RV and it cost us $26 for one nights stay. There are no showers and no services, generators off from 8pm-8am so for this I found it to be a pricey parking spot! You are however staying in Yellowstone park and you are free to wander... More

Beautiful setting. Lots of elk grazing along river. Beautiful setting to go fishing (and get skunked!) it was 28 degrees Celsius and the next day it was minus -2 degrees and snowed 4 inches (sept 9/10). Great campground for in park.

True, the grounds do not have showers, but if I wanted that I'd get a motel, which defeats the purpose of CAMPING. It had a heated restroom, which was nice. Some folks complained of generators, but they must be shut down from 10pm to I think 6am. We had no problems with noise. The staff was wonderful. I have no... More

We camped her in September. Convenient spot to base and explore the park. Easy to get to best attractions especially Old Faithful and the Upper Geyser Basin. Campground is great with clean toilets, firepits, excellent Ranger program in the ampitheatre at night.

I've stayed here before and knew what to expect. Advantages: close to the west end entrance; online reservations; sites in amongst the trees; flush toilets; easy driving access to Old Faithful and geyser basins Disadvantages: noisy, noisy, noisy; you are camping next to entrance road into Yellowstone; you are camping in amongst generators; you have no choice on camp site... This campsite does not include showers with your reservation. Nearest showers are 16 miles either direction from here. Bathrooms are heated, outlets inside, dish wash station between mens/womens. Cold running water only. Paper towels in bathrooms at this site. We froze our buns on 9/4. A whopping 32° with rain until 9/5. Good thing we had hand warmers in our... More

We just returned from staying a couple of nights here. We picked this campground because of its close proximity to the Playmill theater in West Yellowstone and its location inside of the park. We really liked where it was located. It wasn't far from West Yellowstone or Old Faithful. I was worried about not being able to pick my campsite... More

Pretty good place to camp when visiting Yellowstone (Aug 2016/4 nights). One of the few campsites that takes reservations. We are tent campers, and the G and H loops are tent only, so you're away from the RVs and generators (although they are allowed in tent only sites). Campsites are pretty close together, and there is little privacy. Most tent... More

My husband's cousin insisted we should not stay out of Yellowstone, and really try hard to stay in Yellowstone. I kept looking at the Xanterra website to book a campsite in advance at Yellowstone to no avail. Finally, I took a shot and called them instead, and immediately had a booking for three days literally one week before going out... More
