The Cincinnatian Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, finds favor among guests for its central location, close to various amenities, though the bustling area can sometimes lead to noise. While the hotel's atmosphere boasts a unique blend of charm and historic elements, opinions on decor and room conditions vary, with some travelers finding the rooms to be spacious and comfortable and others expressing concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. Despite the swift valet service and a selection of amenities like the coffee shop and fitness center, many guests feel the hotel falls short in delivering value for the price point.

Nicer welcome from the front desk. Better service in general. Having more than 1 valet is necessary or at least reduce the $40 valet price to $20 since we have to wait on average 20-30 min to receive our vehicle or have it lost, which happened in my case. When asked about the original balcony room, front desk could have said, I’d be happy to try and get you the room that you reserved instead of telling me that it’s not guaranteed even if the room online said that it was. When asking about valet, instead of front desk calling valet, she just told me to keep waiting and that they would be right back. When the manager arrived and I told her about it, she immediately called to look for the valet employee and then the original front desk worker started making calls. Why didn’t she do so when I asked her without the manager being there. Most of the time the front desk staff was in the office talking and laughing. I paid so much money for a relaxing stay and it just didn’t happen. My floor smelled like cigarette smoke, so I put a towel at the bottom of the door. About 8 pm, someone tried coming in but I had the inside latch turned out to avoid anyone coming in. The door hit it super loud and frightened me, so I naturally yelled, who’s there. The door shut and by the time I got up, no one was there, but the towel had been pushed as a result of the door being opened. With housekeeping being gone for
The day, I found this very scary. I didn’t report it because I had already reported other things with not much success. I’ve never had this happen and I’m grateful that the latch was locked. The purpose of my stay was to rest and work. I was staying alone and didn’t think much about a safety issue while doing so. I have family here from Louisiana because of hurricane IDA and I really needed the break. All i did was break my bank because it was $600 for 2 nights of nonsense. Now I still have work to do and am still tired

Our children gifted an overnight stay at The Cincinnatian. It was easy for us to locate, and even though valet parking is $40, it was such a convenience for us. A gentleman was there to greet us as we pulled up upon arrival, and only took but a few minutes to have our car brought around when we checked out in the morning. Check-in went smoothly after a short wait for the receptionist to finish a phone call.

The hotel was clean and unique to us. Our room on the 7th floor was very clean and inviting. This hotel is definitely different from any other that we have stayed at.

Our room was comfortably warm upon arrival, but we should have turned the thermostat down before leaving for the show at the Aronoff. The room was uncomfortably warm for sleeping that night. The bed and pillows were comfortable for us. Our entry door did leave in quite a bit of light at the bottom as others have mentioned.

We had beers at the Brick and Mortar. The staff were all very friendly conversationalists, and knowledgeable about the beers available.

This is a beautiful, historic hotel in downtown Cincinnati. The hotel has done a great job keeping historic fixtures, while updating to modern amenities. The desk staff were helpful and quickly provided requested items, rooms were clean, and the ventilation system had a continuous fan option (great for white noise while sleeping). Items to be aware of as you book: parking is valet currently at $40 but service was very prompt, there is no onsite restaurant, diamond member breakfast was via a coffee shop with very limited food options, and this IS a historic property. The door on my room had a 1.5” gap on one side due to settling floors, which was not an issue during my stay as I had enough towels to block the gap, and it was very quiet. The internet is fast, and there are lots of convenient plugs and USB plugs throughout the room.

Wonderful staff- from front desk, housekeeping, room service to the valet/door person- all were friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Stored our luggage since we arrived hours before check in and got us into our room before check in time.

Not sure why other folks have had such a bad experience. We loved our stay here. The room was clean and looks like it was remodeled in the last few years. The front desk staff was very attentive. The valet guys were great as well and very helpful with directions to things like gas stations. The service was great. Some of the King Premium rooms come with a whirlpool tub, so be sure to ask for the Whirlpool tub if you are going with a King Premium room. They also had a separate shower that had multiple shower heads, which had lots of great water pressure. TV was a modern Samsung LED TV with about 49 Direct TV channels, including 2x HBO and 1 x Cinemax channels. The wifi was good. They also have a beautiful staircase near the elevators. :)

The only downside was the hotel restaurant and bar were shut down because of COVID-19, but there are so many great eating options in downtown Cincinnati (or on the banks) this is not a problem.

To start, there is no clear sign showing any parking. Along with valet being out front, there are no workers out there so you have no where to go except leave your car in a no parking zone. Then to top it off, they don’t inclose as soon as you check in they charge you another room fee of 50$ just in case for any accidentals in the room....ON TOP of 40$ parking. For a 320$ room. Then we head to the hotel restaurant where one person (the cook) is serving tables. We were served spoiled alcohol drinks, and for us being the only table in the building it still took an hour to receive food. For being such an expensive hotel, I would think they would have themselves probably staffed.

First, we paid extra to stay in a room with a whirlpool tub, but didn’t even want to use it because it was dirty and stained on the bottom and around the jets. Gross!
Second, the hotel as a whole seemed out of sorts. When we got up to our floor we were immediately hit with the smell of mold. They had some sort of industrial ventilator going in the hallway and ‘ caution wet‘ signs in front of several rooms.
Third, again the hotel seeming out of sorts. There were no employees to be found except for the one at the front desk. Which brings me to our fourth and most annoying complaint.
Four, when we checked in on Friday we only had one already half gone toilet paper roll and two towels. When we called down Saturday morning to ask for two more towels a roll of toilet paper and more coffee because they only gave us one regular Kcup, it took TWO hours to get it!!! My husband had to go to the bathroom and we called several times in that time window asking what was going on. I understand if you are understaffed, but that’s just ridiculous!

Last time I stayed here I had a room overlooking the lobby where I was kept awake until past midnight with people laughing and talking g loud in the lobby below me. This time I asked for a room on the other side, facing the street. The room was very nice with a very comfortable bed. This is all good but if it’s so noisy that you can’t sleep it’s all worthless. It as as if they’d forgotten to put the window in the window pane. I was on the second floor and I could hear people’s conversations on the sidewalk as they walked past. I could hear the crosswalk beep beep beeps every time someone crossed. I could also smell weed from 2 guys who stepped out of the Bricks and Mortar Hotel bar and restaurant for a smoke. Incredible!!! I think I’ll skip this hotel next time and try the Hampton In. Down the street as other reviewers recommend.

As the result of a problem on my end, my reservation was not made with my Gold number. When I arrived around midnight, the desk attendant was not able to put it in. But he did give me some breakfast vouchers. I did not mind that I was given a relatively small room (711). When I got the room and asked for ice, I was told that there was not ice on the seventh floor. The desk attend cheerfully offer to move me to room 811 which he said was right across the hall from an ice maker. Unfortunately the ice maker was out of order. So I had to go to the 6th floor for ice.

The next morning the woman at the desk was fantastic. She recognized me as a Gold member and offered to move me to an upgraded room (628). That was great. That should have been the end of story, but it wasn't.

The side jets in the shower in 628, while not necessary, did not work. They only had cold water connected. This one of few times I need to sent cleaning to the hotels laundry vendor, but there was no laundry bag in the room (811). Again the desk attend cheerfully offered to pick up the laundry outside my room saving me from taking to the front desk before 8:00 the next morning.

The shirt was not cleaned when it came back. There was a note that they could not get the spots out, but it was not just one spot that was left, it was everything that was on the shirt when I sent it. To my knowledge the spots were just food from my dinner. I could understand if one spot could not come out, but every spot of various foods and just dirt did not come out. I have yet to launder it my self to see if they come out.

Finally on Saturday I left the room at 8:00 am and returned at 2:30 pm. It had not been made up. Housekeeping did not come until after 5:00 pm and I had to vacate the room when I should have been getting ready for my evening activities.

On other hand, on Sunday when I requested a late check out, I was given only to 1:00 pm and housekeeping was right there waiting for me to leave. That is the day they could have waited to 5:00 pm to clean the room.

As soon as you walk into the revolving door the entry is elegant and classic. The room was inviting and large for a standard room with large screen television and everything you needed for a long stay. The bathroom had two rooms and two sinks along with a large bath tub and shower combo. The large king bed had amazing pillows and super comfortable mattress and heavenly sheets. Includes a nice desk to work on and a nice comfortable chair and ottoman. Over all the hotel was great and I would stay again.

They likely have roll-away beds for a rental fee. Some rooms are large enough to hold several roll-aways. Bear in mind the hotel is under new management, so the situation may be fluid. Call ahead is the best advice.
