We loved this hotel! All the rooms decorated after composers made it quite interesting. Our room did have an ensuite bath (which I had made sure of) and everything was tastefully appointed. It was very quiet, hostess was so helpful, and having safe secure parking (included in the price) was wonderful! Had not seen a garage with crystal chandeliers before! We had both the weekday and weekend breakfast altho we had to leave early on a Saturday. We found the bed quite comfortable and would definitely stay again. We heard some of the jazz but were unable to eat there as we were meeting up with family.
Stayed in the Beach room. So comfortable! The bed was great, all the little decorative touches in the room were great. Continental breakfast was ample and delicious. Service was amazing - special thanks to Lukas for helping me get settled in when I arrived in a flustered state. (Be sure to get detailed instructions about the parking garage on your first stay.) We had dinner listening to jazz on a Friday night and dinner was terrific - the steak was cooked perfectly. The omelet at the full weekend breakfast was also perfect. The location is perfect for walking around the OTR, as Washington Park is just down the block. This is a "will definitely stay again" place!
Room very tastefully furnished. The outside patio was terrific. Wonderful and accommodating check in. Helped carry bags up and then down when we left. Very clean. I only wish we could have dinner here but we were on a night the restaurant was closed.
This hotel sounds quaint and they have a great concept- historic rooms in a small boutique hotel. However the execution needs a lot of work. Mattresses and bedding is in sad shape. We had a very difficult time sleeping on the mattress. Never a good sign when you wake up exhausted... Linens felt low quality and worn. Temperature was an issue. The rooms are heated with radiators, which are imprecise heating methods. They added a wall mounted heating/cooling system. We had the wall AC unit fighting the radiators all night, and could never get the room to a really comfortable temperature. Two of the rooms do not have en-suite bathrooms. They are located down the hall. They are assigned to a individual room, so you don’t have to share with others, but you may have to walk to the end of the hall. Because only 2 of the 9 rooms have this situation, we missed that info when booking. To be fair, it is disclosed on the website when reviewing those 2 particular rooms, but it’s easy to miss. Be sure to review your room choice carefully to ensure you know your bathroom status. Secured parking is provided, but it is a block away, which is inconvenient when it’s raining. Be sure to check to ensure that the restaurant will be open/live jazz provided. The restaurant was closed when we visited for staff holidays. However this wasn’t noted in advance and has that been critical to our stay, we wouldn’t have been able to cancel with their strict cancellation policy. Overall, there are a lot of caveats, things to know, passcodes to use, exceptions, etc that make this a hotel for only experienced travelers to use. My parents would have been confused by the many things that have to be explained and followed for everything to “work.” For the same price they could stay at a full service hotel and not need to figure so much out. I think the hotel has a lot of potential- historic building next to the Music Hall. However, updates are needed and simplification of processes also needed to make it not so much of a chore to be a guest. …
We stayed at the Symphony Hotel during Blink and it was a great experience! The Bach room was very comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. We especially loved the Jazz trio downstairs on Thursday night after an wonderful evening of lights.
We were fortunate to stay at the Symphony Hotel while attending the Cincinnati Blink festival. The Copland room was extremely comfortable and the period furnishings quite nice. Shane checked us in and showed us the room. We ate dinner in the hotel and it was extremely delightful. The location in Over the Rhine was perfect for attending Blink and for getting around the city. I was also impressed with the private and secure parking garage around the corner. Our morning breakfast was delicious and Shane did double-duty as our waiter. Overall we had an excellent time and will definitely be back!
This fully renovated, and completely gorgeous hotel is simply gorgeous. Cute touches throughout the main common areas and dining rooms are very lovely, but the room itself took center stage here! We stayed in the Copland room (all of the rooms are named after composers), and it was stunning. My wife was absolutely enchanted! The layout, fixtures, and finishing touches are absolutely top notch. The room was clean and pleasant, and I loved the bathroom. Our Innkeeper Luka was wonderful and accommodating, but let me just note that if you show up at the same time as other guests please be patient as your Innkeeper gets everyone checked in. The check in process is not as fast as you may be used to at larger hotels, but that doesn't in any way diminish the loveliness of this hotel. The bartender, Buz, is very adept at his job, and funny as well! The chef is also very accommodating, and made me a wonderful vegan meal! They also have a lovely rooftop area where you can sit and enjoy a drink, but note that there is no smoking. You must go outside to smoke in a designated area. There is a secured parking garage across the street, and it (believe it or not) is as charming as the hotel! When you walk out of the entrance of the hotel, you're looking at the North (?) side of Music Hall, so VERY convenient if you're staying to see the Cincinnati Symphony. Washington Park is (basically) right across the street, and often has many fun activities going on. You're also near a station for the streetcar, and a short ride into the main downtown area (and other cool spots). We took it to get to Taft theater for a show. Overall, I think the Symphony is quite a gem and we'll be looking to stay again soon!…
My wife and I stayed at the Symphony Hotel on our wedding night and it was absolutely amazing. Keith worked with me to get the keys in the morning and was very understanding. When we arrived the staff had left a card with everyone signing it congratulating us. The next morning Luka provided a fantastic breakfast service. I highly recommend the hotel for the elite customer service, great rooms, and wonderful location!
The Symphony Hotel is exquisite!!! We were checked in by Keith who was extremely welcoming and nice. He personally showed us the outside patio and our room. It was quite obvious that a lot a time, thought and effort was put into the furnishings in our room. Water and snacks were provided. Everything in our room was meticulous. The bathroom was amazing!!! Breakfast was included in our stay and Lukas was wonderful, as was the food. The parking garage was a short walk from the hotel, but was spotless and had chandelier's !!!!! I know my car loved this!! I can not wait to return to the Symphony Hotel and have dinner. This was a fabulous stay in Cincinnati.
We only had two days in Cincinnati and are so glad we chose this place to stay. Luka, the manager, was amazing. He gave us great tips to make the most of our stay and was kind and helpful. All of the rooms are named for composers and we stayed in the Amy Beach room. I had never heard of her but fortunately there was a biography of her -- kudos to the hotel for educating its guests on this fascinating woman who is one of America's great composers. As for the room, it was clean and lovely. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. All the amenities were available. The hotel is next to the Music Hall and by Washington Park -- near enough to cool shops and restaurants to walk to them but far enough away to have a quiet sleep. Highly recommended.
