Hotel's Favourite
We took 2 nights at this location so we could enjoy some Cincinnati attractions. Generally it was pleasant. Unlike some locations, they seem to have been able to retain sufficient staff. The rooms are made up daily, the front desk has more than one person attending. Staff was friendly. Our suite was comfy. I wish hotels would p0ut in a second desk and office chair since my wife and I both want to use out laptops. Interestingly, the room came with a small wet bar but no coffee maker. My big disappointment--and this has been frequent as I've travelled this year--was the free breakfast. Some of the Choice htoels have resumed offering a full hot breakfast. This one is still offering only frozen breakfast sandwiches and individually packaged yogurt, rolls, and muffins. Can we be real here--if I make my own pancake, there is no way in hell that the covid or any other microbe is going to survive 2 minutes in a hot waffle iron, and I won't gert contamination from the syrup dispenser or individual butter packets unless someone has been licking them. This is why I want everyone to have to study science in high school.

When we booked a room, the website did not say the hotel was under reconstruction. The entryway to the hotel and the elevator were messy with plastic dust, etc. Also, although our room was fairly nice, the carpet and tile floor were dirty, and there were red spots on the bed sheets (maybe nail polish?). There was supposed to be a breakfast, but we were only given a Honey Bun, some fruit, and coffee/juice. We have been in other hotels during COVID, and have been given more of a variety of breakfast items. Also, there were no restaurants around the hotel to eat at except a White Castle, which didn't look too safe. The hotel was close to the Cincinnati Zoo, which was nice, and also it was easy to get on the highway when we left for further travel. Also, the person behind the desk was very pleasant.

I’ve stayed in many hotels of similar quality. The rooms are reasonable, the breakfast fine, and the coffee better than average. What makes this place special is the staff. They are uniformly friendly, outgoing, and competent, and they all like one another. I would stay there again just for the people.

Friendly Staff & nice clean rooms. Complementary breakfast is great. I asked for a later check out time and it was no problem. The bar on 12 is nice and comfortable with a nice menu as well. Nice entry level well kept and clean. I will definitely stay again.

When we arrived at this hotel, there was a very unpleasant odour in the lobby that continued the next day. It was less present on the second floor. My room reservation had been made by my host at the event where I was speaking, and was in her name as she was paying by credit card. The desk clerk was not willing to ensure that my name was recorded on the room registry in case someone tried to reach me. I left a wake-up call for 6:30. The call came shortly after 5:30, and when I tried to call the desk to ask that they call again at 6:30 (in hope that I could fall back to sleep), no one answered. I was glad to be there only one night.

Picked hotel based on location to the arena, but taxi ride through the neighborhood and then up to the front made me very uncomfortable because the area is rough. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, the decor, and the demeanor of the staff. Someone was being trained to check us in, and I appreciated how the manager (owner?) was patient with her while also making sure we didn't wait too long. Room had good wifi connection, cable TV with actual movies, fridge, and microwave. Front desk staff (owner?) came up to personally check if we were satisfied with our room. That was a first! Maid service was punctual and thorough, so leave her a nice tip. The hotel breakfast was better than expected--choice of meat, biscuits & gravy, eggs, waffles, etc. Very quiet in spite of being next to the freeway.

I have never been to a place were the owner is at the front desk and is actively checking the breakfast area to make sure it is well supplied with eggs and coffee. The people here are warm and interactive from the girl from Kenya at the desk in the evening to the night woman setting the breakfast up in the morning. The front desk area and breakfast area has been recently remodeled and the first floor hall carpeting has been replaced and much of the room has been redone. I heard no highway noise. Sure, there are some areas that need addressed but you can tell it will be. Largest tub at a place I have been to under 200 dollars a night. You might be able to find a better room for 40 dollars more a night but If your on a tight budget, you are doing well to stay here. If I am coming to Cincinnati to stay in a hotel room, no. But if you are coming to Cincinatti to see Cincinatti and you are like the most of us living one pay check to the next, then definitely yes.

We stay here every fall due to the close proximity to the zoo. This time we got a handicap room which we really did not like. Hotel was clean and we were not in the room much. The staff is always very friendly. The hotel is non-smoking, but the rooms always smell like smoke and the hallway always smells like marijuana.

No complaints here - well, parking was tight but no other complaints about the hotel. Interior entry rooms. Nice and clean. Nice breakfast area. Would like more real food for breakfast options but it’s your typical continental breakfast and make you own waffles. Was in a King suite on the first floor. Quiet. Small kitchenette. Large bathroom. Only things that needed attention would be: 1) the loveseat as it had stains. 2) dead spider in tub and some water was standing in tub upon arrival. Bed was super comfortable as were the pillows. The TV was nice size and swiveled. Happy there was a small table by the loveseat as we used it to eat on while sitting on the love seat. Had an ottoman as well. Plenty of space were I could dance with my husband. Lots of big mirrors and plenty of lighting. Completely happy with the room other than the two things mentioned. They do have a designated smoking area with an ashtray and a bench out front which is nice for smokers. It also means the parking lot isn’t littered by butts. They have a vending machine next to the ice machine. We were going to the zoo so this location was perfect as it was only minutes away. Used Choice Rewards points for payment and couldn’t have made a better choice, I think. Would recommend this location. No pool but we didn’t need one. Not sure why a reviewer said they make you call to confirm reservation. We didn’t. I made my reservation the night I stayed and had no issues. Walked in, checked in within minutes and no issues or delays. We also didn’t have an issue with noise.

This is obviously an older property, but the room was large, clean, and relatively comfortable. The room layout was very odd with a closet jutting out on the main wall. The TV is on one side of the wall facing the bed; it can't be seen from the desk, and not well from the sitting area. Also, there is an ottoman in front of the sofa instead of the typical coffee table, which is odd. Staff was exceptionally friendly. Overall a good stop.
