The Westin Cincinnati boasts a vibrant atmosphere that's been enhanced by modern updates and live music, with guests often noting the hotel's personal touches. Its central location earns high marks for convenience, situated near numerous attractions and dining options. However, opinions on value and room conditions are mixed; some visitors find the rooms spacious but dated, and others mention concerns about unexpected fees. Cleanliness generally meets expectations, but service receives mixed reviews due to occasional delays. Amenities like dining are appreciated, though some facilities may need updating.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff at the Ingredients cafe, they are so friendly, especially Faika - she makes my stay homely even when I’m travelling for business.
The worst thing about this hotel is the Atrium area and pedestrian entrance to the hotel on Fountain Square - the doors are always filthy with fingerprints and the matts are all wonky. It’s not a warm welcome to the hotel as the reception is then an escalator up to second floor. This means that undesirables hang around this unmonitored entrance which at time makes me feel unsafe.
The check in process is mixed depending on who you get, it can be a long wait at reception sometimes.
The rooms are good - I appreciate that they give you two bottles of water and mini toiletries eg shower gel etc.
For the rooms overlooking Fountain Square, offering a sleep mask would be useful because of the flashing lights that can sometimes light up the whole room from the tv screens.
It’s a very good location, great for walkers in the Center of town.

Room is huge! Bed is comfy. Wifi is reliable. Could use a nitelight in the bathroom for those late night potty breaks. Fitness room is FIRE but needs a trash can near the water cooker for plastic cup covers. Proximity to McCormick and Schmick, on point! Ingredients restaurant in the lobby is the bomb, cook doesn't seem to happy though.

Having been in the hotel industry I am more apt to chalk something up to a bad day or just a one-off experience. However, it is clear that the management team here has no clue how to run a hotel. I was FORCED to sign some BS Covid waiver which I would not care about if any of their hand sanitizer stations worked. NONE of them did and I was there from Thursday and checked out on Sunday!!!! No info on if they have a restaurant or bar or when they are even open. Shower drain was clogged. Sink faucet leaked. With so few people traveling there is no excuse to not have every room absolutely perfect! They couldn't locate my Bonvoy number anywhere. Food under the desk and dresser which makes me think they do not know how to properly clean the rooms. So you make people sign a form saying you're not responsible if someone gets Covid but then do NOTHING to actually help people not get it. Ridiculous! I do NOT recommend staying here!

Due to Covid-19 there have been several changes to the industry at large and especially to us. It’s a new world these days and some services and facility operations have changed, or been discontinued indefinitely and this is true of our valet parking service, the indoor pool and the fitness center where we are not able to provide a safe social distance for you and others. We’re hopeful of their speedy return when the virus is arrested. Meanwhile we have taken extensive measures to keep our guests as well as our employees, safe. Safety, security, cleanliness and guest satisfaction are our top priority. By your comments, we fell short of your expectations on many levels that we normally take great pride on and while an apology at this point in time might seem anticlimactic, I do sincerely offer mine. Thank you for honest input and for bringing these matters to our attention. Sincerely yours, Jon Coleman General Manager

Our recent stay at the Westin in Cincinnati was extremely disappointing. The Marriott website has this hotel listed as a Category 5 hotel and the Westin as a "Premium" hotel. This Westin does not qualify for any of those qualifications.
1. Poor Customer Service - The staff at the check in counter was cold and rude. Did not show any concern in at least trying to accommodate any requests. Even ordering room service felt like I was doing them a favor. Complete lack of customer service everywhere except for the Valet. They earned their tip and at least when we arrived and departed the hotel premises they were nice.
2. Rooms are not maintained - Our bathroom light fixture over the bathtub was hanging and the bathtub had a large crack running across the front of it.
3. Facility Unkept - From the elevators to the pool, the hotel looked run down. The rooms were clean but the rest of the place was very dirty. The tiles around the pool were cracked and missing in large sections.

We rented five rooms at the Westin hotel for the weekend. Everyone was very friendly to us I really liked my room the kids spend We rented 5 rooms for the weekend at the Westin hotel. The staff was friendly and our rooms were nice. The kids spent most of their time at the pool and had a great time. I checked out of the hotel feeling like I had a wonderful weekend.
However when I got home I looked at my bill, they had charged me for valet parking and I did not use valet parking. I contacted two of my other children to see if they had used valet and they had not. I called the hotel. That's what my problems began the girl I spoke too at the desk kind of pushed me off and told me she would check the valet log. And if my car wasn't there she would take it off my bill. I told her that I was going to stay on the phone until it was resolved she then proceeded to put me on hold for 19 minutes. She asked me what kind of a vehicle I drove. I told her a white Sienna van and she said she talked to the valet and they had brought the white van up. I told her I used the parking garage there was no way that could have happened and I wanted to speak to her Superior. I spoke with Josh. I told him what I was upset about and his answer to me was valet parking was not a part of the Westin Hotel it was a different company he offered me no recourse he did not offer to investigate. I explained to him I have spent over $1,000 in rooms and I wasn't going to lie over $40 valet charge. I then proceeded to get hostile and I told him I would come down there and cause a scene and he told me he would have me arrested. Then I told him I wanted to talk to his Superior and he said there was nobody to call back tomorrow. I got very upset and I was leaving to go up to the hotel and show them my ticket where I paid at the City Garage but my other son came and he said I'm the one who used valet. But he had used his own credit card so I don't know how the charge got on my bill and I said well the girl lied to me anyway she told me that a white van and he said yes we used my mother-in-law's white van. So this whole thing could have been straightened out if someone had taken the time to investigate. Josh did not go out of his way to help me I felt abandoned when he replied to me that it wasn't the westons company it was a different company.

What a lovely hotel that is convenient to all sorts of good eats and a few blocks from the ball park and stadium. I wasn’t recognized as an elite member but I am getting used to that upon checking into Marriott properties as of late. I didn’t get a chance to check out the bar but the ingredients restaurant was great each time that I had breakfast there. Also it’s nice to have a McCormicks and Schmidt’s which you can room charge. Felicia Deward and the staff in ingredients definitely surprised me with their southern hospitality even though I was no where in the south. Each morning they took care of making sure I had everything I needed before starting my day. The food is cooked to order and I tell you what I wasn’t expecting much but after the first bite they had to deal with me for the next 4 days. I am very appreciative and you rarely find such a lovely staff as they have at this Westin.

The staff in the checkin area was very polite and friendly and I enjoyed the use of the gym the entire week while visiting Cincinnati. Having to pay for parking each time you left the garage can be a pain so if you are planning on exploring the city come in the warm months when you can walk and don’t have to bother with the car in the garage. Also to have such a large room I wished they would have used some of the space in the bathroom. Having my significant other trying to use the bathroom at the same time would have been a constant battle for space. Of course I would have let her win though. Next time I would like to see more of the sun but I will definitely like to stay at the westin again.

I stayed at the Westin Cincinnati in December 2020, and the stay was ok. Prior to staying here, I did read the reviews and had some questions about parking, noise, and cleanliness, which I will share my experience. As for parking, there is public parking directly under the hotel that is clearly labeled. Upon entering, you receive a ticket. Scattered in various areas are payment machines, which you use the ticket to pay before you leave. You do not pay the hotel for parking. For two nights, I paid $38. As for cleanliness, the hotel has taken proper steps to combat COVID. On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being perfect), I would rate the room 4. As for noise, it was mostly quiet, and I was able to sleep well. There was some noise that included children in the next room and guests occasionally talking in the hallway and slamming doors, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. The employees were quick to check me in and out and were professional and courteous. Overall, the hotel is in a good location for shopping, grocery, food, coffee, and entertainment.

The location of The Westin Cincinnati was a major highlight of my stay at the hotel. It was conveniently situated near the stadiums and downtown area. I walked around the general area of the hotel several times and really enjoyed getting to know Cincinnati.
My room was in need of an update. It was very large, but the bathroom was small relative to the size of the room. The shower drained very slowly to the point where I was standing in a pool of water. I contacted the Front Desk to fix the issue while I was out for the day. I came back and the shower drain issue was fixed.
I ordered room service a few times during my 3 night stay. I found it curious that each time the order was delivered to my room in a large paper bag. Inside, the food was contained in black plastic takeout orders with plastic cutlery. Even the glass of wine that I ordered with my meal came in a plastic cup with a lid. The attendant mentioned this was due to COVID protocols. It seemed surprising that the Westin Cincinnati still maintained COVID protocols for room service even in July 2023?

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and concerns. The condition of our hotel rooms and public spaces is always a top priority, and we are sorry to see that you encountered issues with your room. This is not what we strive for in the product and services we provide to our guests. Our In Room Dining service is a new concept that has been rolled out at various Marriott properties. Orders are delivered in new packaging made of recycled materials. The focus is on presenting premium local products, with and emphasis on quality food that's delivered quickly without hassle. The use of recycled materials is not due to COVID protocols, and we apologize that you were provided incorrect information. We are working with our leadership teams to address these areas of opportunity. It is my sincere hope that we will have the chance to welcome you back in the future for a better visit to our property.

We have stayed in Westin Chattanooga and Westin Atlanta. Both experiences were great, so obviously we chose the Westin when we visited Cincinnati for a wedding. I will start off by saying, the hotel is in a great location. The breakfast restaurant located in the hotel is a convenient perk. There is also a Dunkin Donuts and a Starbucks located inside the hotel, however they are closed.

If you are looking for a hotel with a pool, the Westin has closed their pool due to Covid-19. They do not tell you this upon booking. This is one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. We have small children and needed something to pass the time.

When we got to our room, the carpet has some stains and needs to be cleaned. The beds had no fitted sheets. There was a sheet laid across it. We had two very thin sheets on top...no comforter so we had to turn the air up so we would not freeze. When we went to shower, the water pressure is decent and we had hot water but the tub filled up with water so we were standing in a tub of water while showering. This washed up someone else's body hair. Gross and disappointing for a Westin. I attempted to upload pictures but was unable to.

761kalis, Thank you for your feedback and thank you for being a loyal Westin guest. We pride ourselves on managing a clean and safe environment for our guests and associates, and during the pandemic of COVID-19, like many properties we made the difficult decision to close certain amenities where social distancing presents challenges beyond our control, which for us that means our pool and fitness center. We do have informational signage located at the desk but this was not clearly communicated to you at check-in. Maintenance of our guest rooms is always a priority and it’s unfortunate you had to experience a clogged drain on top of everything else. At this point I’m sure we failed your expectations for which I sincerely apologize. We are an excellent hotel, however in this case we should have done better. It’s my hope, you’ll provide us another the opportunity in the future where we’ll exceed your expectations. Jon Coleman General Manager

My wife and I had won a free night at the Westin a few years ago. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to return for a one night mini-vacation. From the time we arrived at 5:00 we were treated very generously and personally. We got a room on the 14th floor overlooking Fountain Square. It was clean and quiet. One of the nice things about the Westin is that it is connected to so many other buildings that you can walk safely and warmly around vacant shops and other historic hotels without getting cold. The sights of Cincinnati at night are beautiful. I am an early riser and drink a lot of coffee with creamer in the morning. We dropped by the front desk to ask for a bit more coffee and creamer. By the time we went up the elevator to our room, a generous container of creamers and extra coffee was outside our door. The view of the skaters on Fountain Square and the the cars from the enormous picture window so high up seemed like looking down on a miniature toy set. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the room was so quiet that only the loudest sounds penetrated. Sunrise in the city is a sight to behold from up there as the vacant streets slowly fill up. The bathroom was nicely appointed, very clean, with modern fixtures. We didn't have to wait but a couple of seconds for the hot water.
We received a coupon for a complimentary breakfast at Ingredients, just down the escalator from the front desk. Even though there was a long line of people, the chef worked four induction stoves, a brick oven, and a panini press like a conductor at an orchestra. He took each person's order patiently and politely, quickly making omelets, paninis and other orders. We also got a juice and milk, which would have put us over the value of the breakfast coupon, but the cashier waved away my wife's money with a smile.
We took a tour of Rookwood Pottery and went home. We have decided to make this a yearly thing. It was only one night and exactly twenty four hours when we returned home, but it seemed like a delightful vacation. This hotel is so nice in its own right, but where it is located, and the graciousness of the entire staff makes this a winner for us.
