Doubletree by Hilton Alana - Waikiki Beach is a newly renovated chic boutique hotel located at the entrance to Waikiki in Honolulu, HI. The hotel is within a short walk of the beach, shopping and dining and one of the closest hotels to Hawaii Convention Center and Ala Moana Shopping Center. After a multi-million dollar redesign rooms now feature the Sweet Dreams by Doubletree sleep experience, bathrooms offering walk-in glass showers with oversized "rain" showerheads, large state-of-the-art high definition flat screen televisions with side panels for easy laptop connectivity, comfortable ergonomic workstations for our business travelers, and multiple outlets for electronic devices. Both wired and wireless high speed internet is available in all rooms for a charge and complimentary wireless high speed internet is available in the lobby area. During your stay you can also enjoy complimentary in-room coffee makers with coffee service, complimentary safe and movies on demand. Bedding offered is either one king bed or two queen-sized beds and all rooms have a lanai (balcony) and either city/mountain or ocean views.
Very disappointed. This hotel has gone downhill big time. Yes, they are doing some work on the building -- so maybe a turnaround is coming but we found it difficult to navigate with entrance above street level, Then escalators to lobby then elevator to room. Retrofit to accommodate seniors and impaired is not adequate. Check-in: I'll upgrade you to suite with 2 Queen Beds for $XX a night. OK but turned out to be behind maids' closet and the beds were doubles. Then no room available to "downgrade" me. Resort Fee: $XX a night but you have to walk 4 blocks to Hilton Hawaiian Village to use the pool since ours is closed. Is there a shuttle to it? NO

Bld looked unkempt. Room smelled and appeared to ve dirty. Me and my staff checked out immediately after seeing the rooms. We found a Marriott near the beach. A much better location and the cleanliness greatly welcomed.

We stayed here recently, taking up multiple rooms due to the large amount of people we traveled with. The rooms feel outdated and lack lighting, there is no ceiling lights in most of the rooms! In our week long stay, I was not able to have a shower at the temperature that I would normally use, different times of the day would allow for only cold or scorching hot showers, EVERY room on different levels was this way, staff had no answers and after a couple of room swaps due to this to try and fix it, they started saying there was a fault, it was not fixed for any of us and no more room swaps. One of the rooms ended up with ants through their belongings and food. The pool was closed, meaning we had to walk to Hilton Village to go swimming. There was maintenance happening during…

The pool is closed for the entire summer and the only accommodation they offered was use of a pool 5-7 minute walk away. No shuttle, no transportation and you have to check out a pool towel card every time you want to go. The front desk receptionist was rude and unwilling to help. Definitely disappointed and would not book here again.

Nice hotel. I would wait till the hotel fully gets remodeled until you book there. There is construction going on and pool is closed. You are allowed to use another pool at the other hilton property but its ver inconvenient. There cafe only opens from 530p-830p for lunch and dinner with no room service. i know there are discounts for activities but why im always asking myself why am i paying for the $35 a night resort fee again if there is no pool available?

We selected this hotel because it was the cheapest option for a short stay for 6 people since they had a suite option with a pullout couch and most hotels in the Waikiki area didn't. In that sense it was okay and served our purpose. But we couldn't use the balcony because of construction but we saw no construction being worked on. We didn't need to use the pool because it was a short stay but due to the construction the pool is not in use either. It didn't make sense they charge you a daily per day fee for amenities you can't use. And we had trouble with the hot water (twice.) The $30 breakfast is not worth it. What the hotel lacks in desirability, they make up for with the friendliness of the staff. From the restaurant staff to parking staff to the front desk staff, everyone…

Great accommodations, clean, quiet and very friendly. It was fairly close to the beach. Lots of memories made in a short visit. Doubletree was perfect for what we needed. Price was great for proximity to the beach.

I was very pleased with my stay at the DoubleTree. This hotel is conveniently located within 10 mins walking distance from the beach and Waikiki. Jungmin and the team at the front were professional and went above and beyond to assist and make me feel welcome throughout the trip. Note that while the hotel is currently undergoing some repairs around the building affecting pool access and some other facilities, they offer free access to the amenities across the street at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. I would stay here again if work brought me this way.

The staff is courteous, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are kept clean with a great bed and the cleaning service is excellent. The bell hops and valet parking attendants are also friendly, but be aware that the cost for valet parking is high without the option to self park.
