This was such a great experience at the Alohilani Resort. James the presenter/teacher was so kind and friendly and really enjoys sharing his culture and Aloha spirit with the participants. Big thank you to him for his passion.

Our hotel stay was great. We had a partial ocean view room, which felt like an ocean view room. The aquarium was nice and relaxing while having coffee and tea. The renovations were very nicely done, it looked completely different from the old Pacific Beach Hotel. Will be coming in December for my birthday.

My husband and I enjoyed an all-too-brief 2-day staycation at the Alohilani. We had a beautiful Diamond Head/ocean view from our room. The Longboard Club was delightful - staff was welcoming, the food was generous and delicious, quiet, indoor/outdoor. The overall ambiance and experience was fun, relaxing and well worth repeating! Off course, Morimoto Asia and Momosan are standouts AND it was fun to try out the on-property food trucks - Piccola Onda and Double Fat Ice Cream -- both great finds.

I’ll preface this by saying I’m not the type of person to leave reviews but appreciate when others do as the reviews are the first place I go to get the facts. A couple things to be aware of before you book: tl;dr - As most people say, the lobby is the nicest aspect of Alohani. Unfortunately downhill from there - Before Alohani stayed at the Hilton in a beach-facing suite a block away for less and literally everything from experience to room was far superior - (Wish I knew) their advertised “business center” is a table or two off the lobby with a single computer and a printer - If you intend on working from said business center or spend any time in the lobby area, DO NOT leave your belongings even to use the nearby bathroom unless you’re ok with never seeing them again, and the hotel claiming no responsibility — I’m an entrepreneur and my work doesn’t stop — even on vacation with my girlfriend. Several days of the trip I was at the business center well before the sun came up so my girlfriend could sleep. At around 7a I went to use the restroom and stretch my legs. Confirmed with cameras that a bum strolled in, loitered in the lobby for a while, and while I was away he traipsed over to help himself to my bag and strolled out. The only helpful person there was someone in security who reviewed the footage with the police. He followed up with me multiple times in the following days to assure me that management was aware and would be coming to speak with me and make it right. They didn’t. It wasn’t until checking out that I finally had to seek out* a manager. They were apologetic and offered a $200 hotel credit to use at the restaurant or spa (not so useful as I’m checking out), and told me they would be filing a claim with their insurance and would follow up with me. As the months went by with no communication I had to reach out to them multiple times to find out what the status was. Eventually received a letter that my claim was turned down and the resort held no responsibility. Now if this were a Holiday Inn I’d be more understanding, but to expect this from a resort as Alohani advertises (and charges) is ludicrous. Management is welcome to contact me if this was handled in error, but my strong recommendation to other fellow travelers is to book a different resort. Waikiki is beautiful and there are plenty of resorts that you won’t have to worry about having your belongings, and now for me potentially identity from being stolen (bag also contained my girlfriend’s and my passports and vaccine cards).

I was housed at the Alohilani for two months for a work related trip and I can say it was a very enjoyable stay. It is a beautiful hotel, although it can be noisy. Nice gym, pool & grill, and friendly staff. The Swell Bar has great quality food and is legitimately priced. One manager in particular made my stay especially pleasant, Alex Figler. Alex went above and beyond multiple times to accommodate me with any issue I had during my stay. Alex was always extremely professional and pleasant to work with. I would definitely recommend staying at the alohilani, the only reason im giving the hotel 4 star review is because the walls are thin and it can be very loud in the room.
