Queen Kapiolani was perfect for us. The hotel is dated but very comfortable and the reception staff was excellent. I think a lot would depend on which room you were given. We were on the 12th floor in a corner unit, overlooking Diamond Head and the Ocean. The outlook was magnificent. Bed was comfortable, good bathroom and a little balcony...

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights beginning of January. We paid about $100 per night for the basic room and received a free upgrade (woo hoo very lucky) the room was clean, beds comfortable. We had a balcony that over looked the zoo. Staff were very friendly. Happy hour every afternoon where we had a few cocktails....

The Queen Kapiolani is located at the far end of Waikiki with views of the ocean, Diamond Head, and next to the Zoo. It is an older hotel that still has some charm, with some updating, but still showing it's age. The staff was exceptional, and even though the room was somewhat dated it was clean and comfortable. Flat screen...

Rooms are very small and old. We found that with 4 people in one room it was pretty tight quarters. They only had 2 towels in the room and we had to request more. 50 dollars a day for valet parking, plus tipping is quite an extra cost so only have a car there if your really need it. Lots...

Close to the beach but quiet, with nice, clean and big rooms. We had a room with view on Diamond Head which is fine. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet on the terrace is a must! Please don't change!

The hotel is located at the end of Waikiki and away from the noise and construction that's going on in Waikiki. Got upgraded to a diamond head room The rooms are decent sized with up to date furniture and a large flat screen TV. Small lanai, but mine had a direct view of Diamond Head. AC works great, as does...

Just left this hotel yesterday. You get what you pay for. Convenient to Waikiki Beach but old and needs renovated. First room was a handicap room. It had 2 single beds, was very small and bathroom was like a gym bathroom. Don't let the lobby fool you. Hotel is old and dated and needs work. If you just want a...

We booked a "standard" room at this hotel and on checking in our greeting was "you've booked the cheapest room" The perils of on line booking. On being shown to our room we were taken a back at what we were given. It was small having only a 4ft6 double bed, no other furniture apart from a basic table and...

One block from the beach. Plain rooms that could use a bit of updating concerning the decor. Nice pool area and lobby. Good location to beach however you are 3/4 to 1 mile away from main shopping of Waikiki. Directly across the street is the zoo, which I did not visit. You can walk to Diamond Head from the hotel,...

A really great find at such a low price. The staff were, without exception, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel offers a truly gorgeous (if smallish) outdoor pool with a bar and restaurant a few steps away, all offering a very laid-back vibe. These were the exact features I consider important in a 4-star hotel, but...
