Handy to ala moana shopping center. A bit of a homeless hang out area. We had a noisy window air conditioner. Had a coffee maker and one free serving of coffee, the room was a nice size. a bit musty smell. The restaurant had large breakfasts. I ordered toast and it was half cooked. My friend ordered extra toasty English...

Aloha Jimgloria, Mahalo for your review! I apologize for the noisy air conditioner, unfortunately with our window-mounted units, the vibrations are sometimes at higher decibels. I have forwarded your comment about the restaurant to their management, but I believe the team there is continually improving and am happy with their attention to customer comments. As for the area, we are...

All the staff was friendly, helpful. Had a variety of guests from locals to foreigners. Pagoda restaurant was surrounded by coi (sic) canals and waterfals, very picturesque and the food was good. It was off the beaten path, but accessible to all the major tourist places of interest. Pagoda is probably the most economical hotel in Honolulu, yet the room...

Aloha sirhandi, Thank you so much for the positive review! I am very pleased that you found enjoyed your time at our property. The diverse clientele we host here, from local to mainland to international guests, is one of the things that sold me on transferring to the property. Mahalo for seeing the value in our little, picturesque corner of...

The check in took way too long, but not a big deal. Upon receiving my key I went to the Pagoda Terrace room and entered the gate among a group of people lingering at the entrance smoking cigarettes. Upon entering the room it smelled strongly like cigarette smoke. The carpet had many burn marks and stains. The place is outdated...

Aloha e v, Mahalo for taking the time to write about your stay at the Pagoda Hotel. I am very sorry that you decided to move to another hotel for the remainder of your stay and that we could not 'make it right' with you while you were here. You were probably assigned to a smoking room, so I apologize...

We first got a 2 bedroom room, which turned out to be very dated, and rather run down, in a whole different section. When we requested, the staff moved us to 2 rooms in the main hotel, which was decent. Still could use some work, but a nice value for the money in Honolulu.

Aloha StollerBrent, Thank you for taking the time to post your comments! I am happy that we were able to accommodate you in the Tower after being displeased with your original room and appreciate very much that you saw the value of our property. We are working on improving our rooms so that they are not so dated. I hope...

The Pagoda hotel is considered a "local" hotel meaning that many people from the neighboring islands consider it their home away from home. The rooms are clean, large, but spartan. People visiting relatives on Oahu generally stay here. It's near to the Ala Moana Shopping area, Walmart, Don Quijote (a Japanese chain department store) and a host of restaurants in...

Aloha Kona19661948, Thank you for your post! Your comments about our location, staff and clean rooms are very much appreciated. We pride ourselves on catering to kamaʻāina and visitors alike. Since you have stayed several times this year, I hope that you have been able to see the (sometimes slow) improvements that have been in place...ie our brand new elevators,...

Firstly, the reason for our stay in Hawaii was for my parent's 20th anniversary celebration and ceremony. Checking into the hotel went smoothly until we reached our room, we booked the suite that had a king bed and 2 twin beds. The tower they put us in had chained up gates, the slowest elevators ever, and was very run down....

Aloha Krystle S, I very much appreciate your comments about the Pagoda Hotel and apologize for the late response. As a recent transfer to the property, all comments are valuable as I endeavor to improve upon guest experience. I apologize that your parents' 20th anniversary had such a 'dark cloud' over it. The Terrace, where your original room was, does...

This is an old, dated hotel; it is also an institution among islanders with large families staying in Honolulu. I suppose it is possible to stay in the Waikiki Hotels with 6 family members, but not for less than $200 a night. My daughter stayed in a nice hotel, before we arrived and it was almost $200, just for the...

I stayed at the Pagoda twice within the last month, needing an inexpensive night before catching a flight to Asia. My room was decent. The carpeting was kind of worn in spots.
