The OUTRIGGER Waikiki Paradise Hotel is often commended for its prime location near Waikiki Beach and local attractions, with guests frequently praising the hotel's cleanliness and stylish atmosphere. While the noise from ongoing construction has been a point of contention for many, some visitors report that it didn't affect their stay.
The hotel's amenities, including the pool and gym, receive positive remarks, although the value perception is mixed due to the cost of food and parking. Despite this, the hotel's service is consistently highlighted as friendly and helpful.

This was a Westjet vacation package for a couple, which was easy to book and we went mid-January to take advantage of reasonable pricing. l believe a week or two later the price increased about $2000 which would have been too expensive given the cost of things in Waikiki. Generally, living costs such as food was very expensive compared to Canadian costs, about double or more. We probably spent around $125 usd per day on food and drinks, avoiding restaurants and eating snacks from the ABC shops. The Outrigger paradise hotel is close to the beach and conveniently located in Waikiki for the beach and international shopping mall, plus various places for food and drink. The hotel was fine but had no restaurants, our room was okay but the biggest drawback was the shower (l added a photo attached), l’m quite a large man and could barely fit in the shower, its the smallest shower l’ve every tried to get in, like trying to shower in a filing cabinet. The pool is small but well maintained, the hotel staff clean the area regularly, best go there early afternoon as it can get crowded quickly. At the pool you can borrow towels that they don’t mind you taking to the beach. Also, you can use the hotels suncream. We were on the 10th floor, there are no ocean views, just over carparks. When we left we were hit with daily tourist charges of about $50 usd per day, which we knew were coming but l didn’t expect that much! This then became quite an expensive vacation for one full week, we probably won’t be coming back to Hawaii for a good few years. We did book a coach trip which was a full day around 20 or so places around the lsland. The booking guy was down on the street close to the beach; Chuck, a bit of a character. It was $99 a head which l thought was good value, seeing that others charge nearly double that. I’ve been to Waikiki several times, but not for the last several years. Quite a lot had changed, more food outlets, more shops, beach area about the same but dirtier. It was far more noisier than l remember it, at least double the traffic. Which, btw, everywhere on Honolulu was nose to tail traffic if you were thinking of hiring a car.

We stayed here quite a few years ago prior to the renovation. The renovation has been done really well and it all feels so fresh and modern. We arrived early off a flight from NZ and were lucky that our rooms were ready and we were able to check in straight away. We were only on the 5th floor so I was concerned about street noise but it wasn’t an issue at all. It’s a great spot slightly away from the busy Main Street but still close to walk to all the local restaurants, shops and beach. Our daily housekeeper did an awesome job. The pool was good only problem is it’s not in the sun until about 3pm so is a bit chilly which is refreshing if your hot but it would be good if they could heat it so it was a few degrees warmer. We would most definitely stay there again.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
I was aware that there would be construction occurring during my visit. The staff at check in were very friendly. The decor of the hallway was a wave colored carpet against bright white walls. This color scheme carried through the room as well accented by nude wood furnishings. There was a small square sink to accompany the well lit vanity in the bathroom. The shower is wedged into a corner limiting the about of motion to scrub. The balcony overlooked the pool and held a single chair and a decorative cylinder shaped table. The credenza in the room features a safe and a mini fridge. It is topped with a Keurig coffee maker. Coffee snobs should pack their pods. I was awakened the first night at 3:30 AM by the sound of hammering. After several minutes of investigation, I discovered workmen scraping adhesive off the concrete floor on the 1st level. When I asked the desk clerk, she stated that she was unaware of any construction but she offered to allow me to move up two floors. The second night, the fire alarm went off on two separate occasions after 10:30PM. I was anxious because the woman at the desk the previous night did not inspire confidence in her ability to handle an emergency like a fire. Overall, the location is fabulous as it is a block from the beach and the lobby will be stunning when it's finished.

Our housekeeper was Jei Li, and she was great. She greeted us each time she saw us and serviced our room every day; the hotel is very clean. The hotel is newly renovated and was done nicely, but it has some issues. The bathroom is small and the sink is wonky. It is small and narrow so you have to really lean in when brushing your teeth or washing your face, etc. There is no ice machine, so you have to “order” ice from the front desk and housekeeping brings it up. There is also no guest laundry so it was not convenient for an extended stay (although they offer a send out service). The lobby is beautiful with plenty of seating to meet up. It is covered but open to the breeze. It is well-lit with no concerns for safety. If you are looking for ocean views this is not the place for you but it sits just a couple of short, convenient blocks from Waikiki Beach, so all-in-all well worth it.

I had a two double bed room on the 15th floor (tip: use the express elevator around the corner from the three main elevators). The room was larger than expected, although the bathroom was a little cramped. The sink is in the same room as the toilet, which reduces multi-person use. The showerhead effused with plenty of water flow. I'd say the most water flow I've ever seen in a hotel.
Parking with in/out privileges was convenient, although it did require an extra daily fee. Note that the parking garage entrance is on Kuhio Ave. My GPS sent me to the drop-off entrance on Kanekapolei St.
Because the in-house pool was closed we were directed to use the pool at their sister property the Waikiki Beachcomber. While this property seemed to be just around the corner on the map they provided, the actual walk there was a little longer than I expected.
Our stay included breakfast vouchers, redeemable at the Aroma Caffee in the lobby level or the Fire Grill across the street at the Garden Inn. Various breakfast sandwiches were available to select with the voucher, or any entree was available for a $5 upgrade fee. The Fire Grill is a more formal sit down restaurant. There the voucher is good for two eggs plus two sides (meat/potatoes), or the voucher can be redeemed for $12 off any other breakfast entree.
I only have two negatives to say. One is that the A/C only has 4 modes: high, med, low, off. You can't choose a specific temperature. Also there is some sound leakage between rooms as I could hear some talking and faint snoring at times, but nothing loud enough to disturb my sleep.

We arrived on the 31st July, only to find out the hotel is undergoing a renovation. We booked 9+ months ago and had 2 requests: a microwave and a self service laundry. Our room did not have a microwave and the laundry was closed due to the renovations Next disappointment, our room backed onto the lift well. Our sleep quality was very poor. We were offered an alternative room, however the king size bed was the sacrifice (given we had managed in double beds for 3 weeks - we needed some space)
Our room attendant Yeu Wah was amazing, very polite and professional.
We understand the need for progress, however to then be told we had to also pay a day fee for WiFi, pool, and other standard options was offending (especially when the pool was for closed for 2 days due to poor water quality.... noted on our arrival)

We just spent 10 nights at this hotel and we were very impressed. We have been to Hawaii many times and for the price which included breakfast it was 10/10. The room was big and the pictures online didn't do it justice as it was much nicer than we thought it would be. The Gym is brand new with all the latest new machines. The pool area was redone during Covid and it is beautiful. The chap that looked after the pool area was a real stand out for us, he never stopped cleaning and really gave great service. His name was Shandan and definitely made our time more enjoyable. Overall from receptionists to cleaners each day we will definitely go back.

Sadly, we are leaving today… but I wanted to give a big shout out to Kiana for making our stay so special and memorable, Angie for the amazing and welcoming check-in experience, Sasha for her amazing services with keeping our room clean and being so sweet, and Joel from Bell!!! Besides the amazing staff, this property is very well maintained and the renovations look amazing!!! They have a nice fitness center, pool and Jacuzzi with lounge chairs you are able to enjoy without additional fees, and the best part is you are in the middle of the Strip and the beach is a 5 minute walk away. Although the property is in a high traffic location, the rooms are very quiet and cozy. We are happy to say that we will definitely be coming back. Mahalo to the Outrigger Paradise team we will definitely miss you!

We use our own perspective (out of 5). It is mainly a business hotel.
【Location】5 It is located in the middle of Waikiki, close to the bus stop, a supermarket in front of it, and the International Marketplace next door. Across the street from Hasu It has an ABC store and is very convenient to walk relatively safely at night. Is the problem that the parking lot becomes the building next door and that it takes about three minutes to get to the Pink Line trolley stop?
【Room】3 The rooms renovated in November 2024 are beautiful, but they are still a decent hotel. However, from a cost standpoint, I think it's enough. There is also a lanai, so it was done slowly while being blown by the outside wind.
【Outlet・LAN】4 It is easy to charge because it is under my pillow.
【Air conditioning】3 I went there in November and it worked.
【Shower】4 The momentum was moderate and the temperature control was not so difficult. I think you'll be fine if you first understand which handle to turn. Personally, it was nice to come out from above.
【Staff】4 I was able to stay comfortably with all the friendly and witty staff.
【General】4 I was able to stay at a fairly affordable price for Waikiki, probably because I had booked it quite early. The location was very convenient for everything we did. This time, I was concerned about security etc. because I was with children, but I was able to spend it without any problems.
It was renovated so the front desk area was clean, but there was nothing to expect, so it was a simple and clean lobby. The pool was good, but I went there in November, so it was too cold to enter after evening.
I thought I could stay again.

No, there's no entertainment at this property. But Kalakaua Ave is a short walk away and sometimes there's entertainment at the International Market Place next door.
There are more places to choose from in the Honolulu area.
