We booked this hotel based on trip advisor reviews. I would like to say it was clean and the desk staff were very helpful. When we arrived at our room it was dated. The bathroom shower was leaking around the shower head. Our view out the window was of a burned building that looked so bad we had to keep the blinds pulled. It had a balcony but we didn’t use it because of the view.

Hotel's Favourite
This was our second stay at the Ilima Hotel. The room was clean, modern, and spacious. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Watch kayaks and outrigger canoes in the Ala Wai canal. The hotel is close to everything in Waikiki Beach. We bought food and drink from Dukes Lane Market and Mitsuwa Marketplace, kept it in the fridge and enjoyed an in-room meal to save on restaurant bills.

Very pleasant hôtel, with large rooms very well furnished with a lot if use full items (full kitchen, iron board, everything you need). Extremely clean et very friendly and professional staff. Swimming pool and laundry room. Great location. I definitely recommend! Compares very well to a 4 stars hotel. No breakfast service but there is a lot of nice places nearby.

Had a wonderful experience. We were a family group of 19, staying in 5 rooms. Rooms are a bit dated but very clean. All staff members were so friendly and very helpful. Pretty small pool but it was never crowded when we went. I only heard one complaint from our group and that was regarding the 'sofa bed' in the one bedroom suite (our room). Hard as a rock! We asked for extra blankets to act as padding and that helped a little. Kitchenette was a plus. We didn't cook any meals, but others in our group did, which helped save a little $. For us, having full size refrigerator plus a microwave came in very handy. We'd definitely stay here again.

Great bang for the buck. Not the fanciest hotel but great location for the price. The room was clean, employees have all been super friendly, and it’s within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and Waikiki beach. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying at the Ilima Hotel! It’s super cute & clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Location is close to the beach (2 blocks) and restaurant & stores (1 block). Loved morning walks along the canal where we spotted jellyfish & box fish. Room size was large, loved the balcony & the view of the mountains and it was so nice having a kitchen with a full sized refrigerator. Safeway was 5 minutes away. They also have free (limited) parking – we were able to always secure a spot if back to the hotel by around 5pm. Can’t wait to come back! I recommend this hotel to everyone!

The Ilima is pretty dated, but it is quite affordable for Waikiki, the rooms are spacious, and the beds are okay (not great). It’s just two blocks from Waikiki Beach, and within easy walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Also, Lyft/Uber rides are plentiful in the Waikiki area, so you can easily and quickly get where you need to go. My one complaint is that the Wi-Fi was pretty awful. My phone repeatedly lost the connection, and the connection was not secure. I finally gave up and just used my cell signal. Overall, I found this hotel to be satisfactory.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! I wish we would have booked it originally! We stayed at another hotel (Kaimana Beach Hotel) one night and checked out early because it was awful and then booked this hotel. The room is large, has a kitchenette stocked with all needs for cooking and eating, plates, bowls, glasses, flatware and a few pieces of cookware. Has a small cook top stove, microwave and refrigerator. Laundry room on the 3rd floor which is wonderful. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Free parking!! (First come, first served). Close to shopping and a supermarket. They even have a laundry basket in the closet for your use!! If I ever come back to Oahu, I would definitely stay here again!
