This hotel was great. I would give it 4.5 stars but that's not an option. We stayed in the rainbow tower. The have fireworks every Friday night and we were able to watch them from our room. Lots of pools and one with slides. The big slide was great. Easy beach access. Lots of shopping and restaurants right on the premises. All the staff was very courteous. The view from our room was amazing. Why I couldn't give it 5 stars. The elevators had lots of problems in this tower. They were down for almost 2 hours one night. They use an interesting system to manage people using them and many times it assigned to many people to an elevator. Then we couldn't all fit in so we had to put our floor # in and wait for another. I saw people miss 2 in a row. None of the pools are heated. The pools were colder than the ocean. The grandchildren used them more than once but we didn't. No microwave in the room. There was a refrigerator but if you brought food back from a restaurant you couldn't reheat it.

We stayed one night in the rainbow tower full ocean view and 6 nights in the grand Waikikian. The rainbow tower had an amazing view and it was just breath taking. We then moved to a time share room on the 27th floor with partial ocean view. The view was more city view but the room itself was high , spacious and well kept. The appliances in the 2 bedroom suite was modern and having a kitchen was very beneficial for us having breakfast before we leave for the day. The staff at the village was very courteous and friendly and we never had a problem. The lagoon was perfect for the kids and for novice scuba divers who are afraid of sharks in the real ocean (Like me) the lagoon gets crowed during the day so we usually go early. The beach was a little rough with a lot of rocks It was pretty good though. There are 5 pools an the property with some being adults only but we basically used the one near the gran Waikikian (3 levels with slides ) and the super pool. There are many restaurants nearby and prices are higher at the resort as expected but for the convenience and service it was worth it. We went to tropics twice and tried a few of the other cheaper take away places in the village. We mainly ate at Ala Moana mall food court and bought groceries at the foodland there

This was our first hotel on a 3 island vacation. We have stayed here many times and come to Hawaii annually. this trip however was a little disappointing. Pros; Check in was super easy and quick, a huge improvement verses our previous stays. We stayed the tapas tower. The room was nice and newly remodeled. Location great, village feel and close to shopping. As a Hyatt diamond member we got a daily $ to spend at the restaurant and bars. Great surprise was they brought back Friday night fireworks. Cons: there are tons of people at this resort. I’m mean Disney world busy! Staff is very limited. Even last year with covid it was better. Also we lost water twice during our stay. Once we received a note about the time it was to be turned off . Other time no note and it happened while we were getting ready. Tried to call but was not able to speak with anyone. Also for Two days there was no pool service at the main pool. Not a big deal we can get our own drinks, but there's were cups and food everywhere nobody was cleaning up! Other days there was a little pool service but they only picked up after the guests they were waiting on. Grosss…We didn’t stay long, instead we went to the pool by the spa, much better. Also restaurants and food at the bar ends at 9:30. No where to eat. They told us to go offsite. Really !?!?? Not a horrible experience but would probably not stay again.

It's terrific to know you enjoyed your room in the Tapa Tower, and we are glad our location and fireworks were bright spots during your time with us. That said, we are sorry for the aspects of your stay that disappointed you. Your feedback is gratefully received, and we will discuss your comments with the respective teams to determine where we can improve our guest experience. While we failed to hit the mark this time, we hope you'll give us another chance someday to provide you with the stay you expect and deserve. Sincerely, Guest Services Manager

Do not stay here! AC does not work properly, rooms smell of mold/smoke. Trying to deal with customor service is a nightmare as staff do not know how to use a computer/poorly trained. Management did not help either (even as a diamond member). Stayed in 4 different rooms at two different hotels in 5 nights! Not worth the stress on your vacation. Stay at the Embassey suites if staying at a Hilton property in Waikiki.

We were at a hotel down the road that we didn’t like, so we moved here mid week. What a great idea! The village provided everything you could need. Valet parking was convenient. There is a pool around every corner. Fireworks on Friday night. A luau on site. The beach is literally right there. Our room was huge and air-conditioned! Yes, it’s busy, but this hotel (village) has everything. Walk up bars to grab a drink on your way upstairs. Hallways and corridors were open with seating. The balcony was a great place to watch the sunrise, the luau, the fireworks, and we were high enough to not hear much traffic.

This hotel is old and extremely noisy. The staff is limited and the lines are long. Elevators in the Rainbow tower are ancient and take forever. The rooms are in need of updating and the carpet is dirty. There is a charge for all beach chairs and umbrellas even if you are a Diamond member. The food on property is outrageous and not all that great. The property is overrun with screaming children and people having parties in their room.

Our goal is to provide a comfortable stay and helpful service, so we assure you that we'll discuss your remarks and seize any opportunities for improvement. Please know for the future that a private company rents chairs and umbrellas on the beach and that the pool chairs on the property are free of charge. Hilton Hawaiian Village is awesome. Everything you could want in one area. The large beach with soft sand made it easy to find a place to relax close to the beautiful beach. Most everything we wanted to eat was close, including the ABC Stores. We stayed two weeks in 2021 in September and came back in October 2022 for another two weeks. Our Ocean View room in Rainbow Tower gave us a breathtaking view from Diamond Head to our beach and the Surfers in the waves. All this close to the hustle of Waikiki but far enough away to have privacy. If you are deciding on an Oahu hotel, you can't go wrong staying at Hilton Hilton Village.

We were booked here through NCL. It was a nightmarish experience. The hotel is a confusing jumbled mess of buildings. There are minimal amenities. We had a 4th floor room where all the entertainment noise was audible. The NCL bus dropped us off at the bus terminal 1/2 mile away and we had to walk under a covered walkway in the rain dragging our heavy 50 lb luggage . We are senior citizens and no staff was available to help us. Of note, there is a dropoff point right at the outside reservation desk, but hotel policy does not permit busses to drop guests off there. We also enocuntered some incredibly rude staff there. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CRAPPY HOTEL.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over a number of years. I was there for 5 nights in November and was very disappointed. We were part of a large group and I was told that my Diamond Status didn't apply for an upgraded room (and an upgrade was unavailable even when I offered to pay). I did receive the Diamond benefit of $18/day each for me and my guest (which unfortunately I wasn't able to use every day as I was there on business with catered breakfasts/lunches and the $ is not cumulative unlike at other Hiltons where it is). Still miss the old gold/diamond lounge in the morning, which has disappeared along with the flamingos, penguins, etc. The hotel obviously has deferred maintenance, likely due to Covid. There are dead plants on the balcony of the Convention Center; the lobby entrance was being repaired and was under construction; rooms were dated; and my bedding was moldy, etc. The property was extremely crowded--my overall impression is that Hilton has overbuilt the time share properties with the result being there is insufficient room in pools, restaurants, etc. for the many thousands of guests. The kicker, though, was no power in the Tapa Tower on my day of departure and limited/nonexistent elevator service. Checking out with luggage and a handicapped companion and thus needing the service of a bellman was extremely frustrating and took hours--barely made our flight despite leaving ourselves plenty of time! HHV still has some pluses--nice beach, great location, an oasis away from the crowds of Waiikiki, and as always friendly/helpful staff (although many long-term employees have left). During Covid many facilities at the Hilton were closed and rates were high so I stayed at the Sheraton PK where I was stunned to learn I could reserve Tommy Bahama chairs for the beach. Seems like Hilton's $50 resort fee should cover the fee for Hilton beach chairs (despite these being provided by a private enterprise and the beach being a public one). I'm contrasting HHV experience with the Hilton San Juan, Hilton Copacabana, etc. where the beaches too are public access but where the Hilton provides complimentary chairs for its guests (either negotiating with the vendor or rolling the rental chair cost into the resort fee). Anyway, we had such a wonderful experience with the portable beach chairs from the Sheraton PK I called a local vendor and arranged a 5 day chair rental for a very reasonable fee and they even delivered the chairs to the HHV.
