We stayed three nights during the 4th of July week to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Since we were married near this hotel (Diamond Head Beach Park), and stayed there for our honeymoon, we have a special attachment. We have returned to Hawaii at least...More

Had I walked into this hotel and looked at the lobby and smelled the public areas, I might have just turned and walked away. However, when I got to my room and found it newly redone, elegant and quiet, it made everything much better. I...More

It is called boutique hotel, virtually. The rooms are tiny, but clean. Reception staff is very helpful but the beach towel guy does not like his job. The beach in front of the hotel is clean and convenient. Not to suffer with public transportation better...More

Like many hotels on Waikiki, this hotel suffers from being a refreshed version of a hotel built 50 years ago during Waikiki beach's heyday. Given that we paid almost 300 bucks a night, we were disappointed by (1) the very noisy room (could hear every...More

i believe the deluxe is larger. it appears that the website is currently using the same photo for both room types. i know the larger room has space for bed, small table with 2 chairs, small couch and bureau with TV on top

We stayed at this hitel at the same time as you. As a white woman an an East Indian man we felt we were treated not as well as the other guests who wee predominantly Japanese. We had several happy hours and lunches at the bar over our ten day stay. The first time we sat at a table Lori appeared to be there alone and looked very tired and unenthusiastic. Yet she could never do enough for us. What we saw over several days was that she was run off her feet making all the drinks, while three waiters would stand there doing nothing, just watching. The volume of drinks for the restauraunt and the bar was too much for one person. So the fact that you went to the bar meant it was going to be her responsibility. Also people wanting lunch food to then take to the beach went to the bar as we did. Lori as very cooperative, giving us a box to put it in when it was ready. The first day Lori was off duty my husband went to the bar to order lunch. They told him he could not take it to the beach. He asked for the manager saying he felt he was being treated differently as I had no problem getting food for the beach. We were hotel guests and other restaurants were a mile away. We did not want to change to come in for lunch. We also were told the manager would get back to us.....never heard. We had no knots and the housekeeping and bell hop staff were great.

I would suggest another room with a better view. That building is low and separated from the rest of the hotel.
