This hotel is very comfortable and in an excellent location, with easy access to public transportation. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable, though the partial ocean view was very limited. I had an upgrade, but in my opinion, it wouldn't be worth paying extra for it. The bathroom was relatively small compared to other rooms I stayed in, but fine for a solo traveller. The fridge and microwave were an added bonus, however I would seriously question the safety of the placement of the microwave; in a cupboard above head height, impossible to see inside and thus potentially very dangerous when retrieving hot items. The wardrobe was tiny and positioned in a corner with no lighting, hard to see with my poor eyesight. Housekeeping was provided, but was dependent on length of stay - I stayed 8 nights, otherwise you would need to order replacement towels and coffee etc. I requested a quiet room, but unfortunately my room was never quiet. I am used to city traffic noise, but the sheer volume of traffic, garbage trucks, heavy vehicles all through the night meant there was no respite. Add to that the aircon that sounded like a jet plane, after several days I was really struggling to find respite from it. The staff at the hotel were always friendly and available. I had issues with internet, but after reporting the issue, staff responded in a timely fashion and it was eventually resolved. This Waikiki hotel represents extremely good value. I came to Waikiki for an event and booked Aqua Palms as an alternative to the hotel across the street saving almost 50% of the cost. For that reason alone I would recommend.

Aqua Palms Waikiki is in a pretty good location with a public bus stop very close by as well as the Waikiki Shuttle bus (Pink line) directly out the front.
ABC store next door and across the road. IHOP next door, fast court at the Ala Moana centre 1 bus stop away.
Close to the beach and Lagoon.
Room was small, bathroom tine but was sufficient enough. TV remote didn’t work for some reason. We used the swimming pool everyday which was wonderful. Staff lovely & helpful.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
We have stayed at the hotel on at least ten occasions - mainly on basis of location - regarding the hotel facilities that of a 2 star plus property, used only for sleeping. On this occasion, the impact of the Hotel Room Service policy limiting the occasions on which the room is cleaned, resulted in the carpet being very dirty. Walking barefoot created very dirty feet and was quickly avoided. The state of cleanliness was reported to front desk on checkout, with a request for the message to be relayed to senior management. The lack of cleanliness is not a problem created by the maids, who do their best in the circumstances, but is the consequence of the policy to remove daily cleaning - and vacuuming of carpets. The deterioration in cleanliness from previous visits was disturbing and disappointing, and should be addressed if return visits and recommendations are not to be adversely affected.

The hotel is really nice - the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are nice and perfectly clean. The hotel is located conveniently to everything you want - stores, restaurants, the beach and there is a bus stop right in front to take you to Pearl Harbor for example. I would definitely recommend staying here! Thank you for the awesome time we spend at the Aqua Palms.

This hotel is absolutely AWFUL!!! I booked 2 rooms for my parents, and my family to stay from 06/10/2024 to 06/17/2024. On the day of check in we discovered the AC unit was not working in my parents room or my room. We informed the hotel staff and they sent maintenance personal shortly to make repairs. My parents room had a faulty sensor, and was able to be repaired right away. Repairs were attempted in my room, and I was told to give it an hour to cool down. I left for dinner and returned to a room that was 2 degrees warmer than before repairs were made. I informed hotel management, and was told the only option they had available was to put me in a room that was different than what I booked. They put me in a room with 1 queen bed and 1 sofa bed. I booked a room with 2 queen beds. They said they were fully booked due to a Hawaiian holiday during the week of my stay, but they would "try" to get me in a room with the beds I booked the next day, but no promises. The next day I waited until just before 3pm to find out a room was available, even though I was told I needed to be out of the existing room by noon. No refund or consolation was offered. Upon moving to the 3rd room in 2 days time I discovered 2 live roaches in the bathroom. Again the staff was notified, and I was told no other rooms were available, but they would "try" to get maintenance to come spray for bugs sometime the next day. On the 3rd night of our stay my parents were startled to find live roaches in their room as well. On the 4th night of our stay the AC stopped working in my parents room at 2AM. It was repaired by 5AM, but by that time a night of sleep was lost yet again. We also requested to be assigned rooms on the same floor because my parents are older than 80 and both are wheelchair bound. That was not possible due to not having any rooms with working AC and no roaches available. They ended up on the 3rd floor while I was on the 10th. On top of everything this hotel charged me $40 per night to park my rental car in their garage, only for me to discover that most of the spaces, and all of the most convenient spaces are reserved for residents of the building. Oh, I forgot to mention Aqua Palms does not control all of the rooms in this building. They have some rooms on some floors. The rest are occupied by local residents who go out of their way to let tourists know they are not welcome in the building. Please do yourself a favor and book your Hawaii hotel stay anywhere other than this awful hotel.

Great location! Short walking distance to the beach, close to restaurants, bus stop, car rental, even pick up for our activities. We appreciate the availability of towels and beach chairs anytime we need them. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, there were enough towels of all sizes, big bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash; there's a coffee maker, fridge, microwave which are all great for a family trip. We also did not have issues asking for fresh towels, they came as soon as we needed them. The one and only issue we had (which we totally understand being in a tropical climate) was the small roaches in the room. I told the receptionist and I know she seriously noted it and was very apologetic.

We wanted to like this hotel but it missed the mark on several levels. 1. We stayed in one of the rooms with a full kitchen. There is no balcony and none of the windows open. So when u cook the smoke builds up and the exhaust fan is old and ineffective. Thus leaving the entire place smelling like food. The scent is in your clothes etc. 2. Dirty! The room upon entry has a high level of dust behind the bed, the floors look to not have been mopped recently. We are still in a pandemic and the hotel doesn’t clean well. In addition our refrigerator came with an ice maker. I got sick using the ice!! Apparently they don’t change the filters and before I realized it I consumed ice water with large white particles of mold in it. 3. Service. The service here is poor. When you ask for something you’re instructed to come down to the front desk to retrieve it. They seldom bring anything to your room. 4. Housekeeping. We stayed here for a week and housekeeping only came once to service the room on day 2 or 4. 5. Deferred maintenance. This hotel has a laundry list of deferred maintenance. The bathroom sink backs up when you use it. The kitchen sink has a foul odor coming from the drain, the dishwasher needs to be cleaned internally, the overall decor looks like something from the 1970s. The shower water pressure is AWFUL! Feels like a light sprinkler opposed to a shower. The hot water doesn’t get hot. Rather it gets luke warm at best.
Thing we did like. …….it’s hard to say because the issues overshadowed anything positive we may have experienced. The elevatorss were in working order while I was there.
Overall I would not stay here again and I do not recommend this hotel to future guests.

Aloha X4724VOkristenr: Mahalo for taking the time to share your recent experience at the Aqua Palms Waikiki. I'm disappointed to hear of your concerns and challenges during your stay. Unfortunately, in reviewing your account I don't see any notes of concern that were voiced during your stay so that we may have been able to address them. We have a very limited number of units with full kitchen facilities and yes, the unit you stayed in does not have a lanai or windows that open. Since COVID we have limited our housekeeping services for the safety of our guests and employees. Housekeeping service is provided on the 4th day of a seven night stay. During your stay all other amenities are available at the front desk. Your feedback is being provided to our team to ensure that these items are addressed moving forward and will use it as a training tool for our staff. Our staff and the properties location are two of the biggest selling points of the property and we hope that you were able to enjoy both. All of the staff and management hope you were able to take home fond memories of your stay in Waikiki and will afford us the opportunity to regain your valued patronage. This hotel was an unexpected gem. We arrived Saturday around lunchtime, and we were told that our room was not ready yet, but we were offered a different room, with only a double bed or we could wait and our room would be ready around 3pm. We opted to wait for our room, and glad we did. We booked a Diamond Head view room, and not only did we get a room with a view of Diamond Head, but we also got a view of the ocean. To say we were pleasantly suprised would be an understatement. The room was clean, and well maintained, the bathroom was a little small, but manageable, with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash all supplied and mounted in the shower for ease of use. Because we were only staying 6 nights, room cleaning was not provided, but we knew this when we booked, and were prepared for it. If we needed more towels, toilet paper, tissues etc, all we had do was ask. Nothing was a problem. The staff were friendly and helpful. Kasey, Christian and Guy were all lovely. Guy took our bags up to our room for us, and took the time to explain to us where everything was in the hotel, right down to where the laundry was. Kasey organised our parking pass, and finalised our bill for us the night before we checked out, even apologising for the power outage we experienced, even though it was not within her control to do anything about it, and Christian got us all checked in.. everyone was super helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend Aqua Palms to anyone who is looking for a place to stay that is affordable, and just a little outside of the main drag of Waikiki.. the bonus of this hotel is that Hilton Hawaiian Village is across the road, and you can swim in the lagoon over there or go straight through there to the beach.. and you only pay half the price of the Hilton.. the hotel is also walking distance to Ala Moana Shopping Centre.. We cannot thank the team enough and cannot wait to come back, we will definitely stay at Aqua Palms again.. Mahalo to all the team there, you made our stay memorable..

This hotel is very clean and convenient if you are hopping around Honolulu. It is not a resort hotel if you are searching for that relaxing beach vacation. There is an IHOP next door, Wikiki Brewing is down the street, and an ABC store is around the corner. We did not go to the pool but it looked very basic. There is easy access to Wikiki Beach via the Hilton Resort which is extremely busy. Most of the staff was friendly. The water pressure in the shower was incredible and the water heated up quickly! The bathroom is not big and the room was an average size. There is a coffee maker and a mini fridge and microwave. They only clean the rooms once every seven days, but you can request more towels. They had Hawaiian Tropic shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. The concierge, Claude, was very friendly and helpful. He was not pushy. He was there to help. We did not rent a car, so I do not know what the daily parking rate is. The area of the hotel is the start of Wikiki Beach and it is more urban vs. Resort like.
