We stayed at Vive Hotel at a Queen Cosmopolitan room for five nights last week. The location is very convenient, a short walk to Waikiki beach and shops around. There are bus stops on both sides of the road, we were able to visits many places in Honolulu with buses. The hotel customer service was more than excellent, concierge opened 24 hours, room service everyday. The staff members were very nice and diligent. We had all we needed in the room but the air-conditioner was noisy at night, we switched that off before sleep, the room remained cool enough for a good sleep. The bathroom is small, shower over bathtub, the shower head is high and not adjustable. I would consider a King room with a larger bathroom if I book the Hotel again. The lounge downstairs is self-served where we could have coffee, tea or drinking water anytime. There are two yummy seafood take away shops opposite to the Hotel, one is few blocks away. We bought our meals there and enjoyed the food at the air-conditioned lounge of the Hotel comfortably. Free breakfast was also offered at the lounge every morning. We loved the fresh cut fruits of the breakfast. Next to the lounge is a room for free beach facilities loan. We could access the room with our own room passkey anytime we liked and then just dropped the towels and mat used in the big buckets near Reception for cleaning, very easy and convenient. The Hotel also provided us an exercise mat and exercise gadgets for free. We have saved lots of money by staying at Vive, they charge at much cheaper rates and charge no amenity fees as most hotels do. We had received very good services at Vive. We are very happy with the hospitality that the Hotel has shown to their guests.

My wife an I decided to visit Oahu for our bleated honeymoon (married in 2020 during covid so no travel then) and after some research we came across the VIVE Waikiki hotel and we are glad we did.
Our first introduction to the hotel was through the valet service. We decided to rent a car to give us the freedom to explore the island on our own time. We dealt with several team members at the valet service during our stay, and from the first encounter to the last was always a pleasant experience. We were always warmly greeted, made sure we had what we needed for the day and had the car ready to go in no time. Without having to worry about parking downtown, this was a great option for us.
Down the elevator, we entered the beautiful lobby and had an easy-as-can-be check-in. We were even greeted with fresh pineapple juice and a lei greeting (add-on service option). As I said, check in was super easy and we were off to our room in no time, and they even gave us some documents and tips for places to visit in the are and events like live music and fireworks around the area.
Our hotel room was perfect for what we needed including A/C, tv, fridge, desk space, safe, quick wifi, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer and a bathroom with a hanger for wet clothes after a day at the beach. The turn down service when requested was always ready when we got back to the hotel and they even left us some treats on check in as well as one to celebrate our honeymoon. A wonderful welcoming touch to the experience.
One of the highlights of the stay was the complimentary breakfast each morning. They always consisted of a selection of delicious pastries/breads and fresh fruit like pineapple, melon, strawberries, mango and oranges. They also had eggs (omelette or hard boiled) and a protein (bacon or sausage). I can't forget to mention the star of breakfast, the fresh ice cold pineapple juice. We tried to get as much of this as we could as it was so good.
The hotel also offered anything you might need for a day out on the beach. They have a room dedicated to beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and even a bin that had a pair of goggles and snorkels (saved us a rental when we visited Hanauma Bay. They also have water refill stations near breakfast, the lobby and one on the valet service floor.
Overall, we are both so happy that we chose to stat at VIVE. It had everything we needed for our trip and was so close to amenities like corner stores and too many restaurants to count. Make sure to sign up for their membership to get some great deals.
You won't be dissapointed stay here. Thank you VIVE.

The service at the VIVE Waikiki hotel was outstanding, with everyone going out of their way to be helpful and friendly. It's very welcoming with filtered water, lemon water, iced tea and coffee available in the lobby full of comfy chairs. There's a room full of towels, beach towels, folding chairs, sand toys, boogie boards, waterproof bags, and sunscreen that you are welcome to use and return. The beach is just two short blocks away - and you avoid the noise and crowds (not to mention the high prices) of the beachfront "resort" hotels.
The rooms are on the small side but comfortable and clean. Decor is modern and attractive. Microwave is not inside the room but there is one (and a toaster, too) in the lobby that is available to use. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase in your room or in the lobby. A small safe and refrigerator are provided in the room, which was expected, but the robes were an extra nice touch. Included buffet breakfast was described as continental, but was much, much more, with eggs, fresh fruit, hot oatmeal, bacon, etc. Coffee was plentiful and very good.
This Waikiki hotel was unusual in that it had real front doors that were locked after 9pm, so you need your card key to get in. Most Waikiki hotels seemed to be open to the street. Front doors have a few steps down to enter. There is a side door that is handicap-accessible, but you need a card key to open, so presumably you would need to have someone let you in order to check-in and get your key.

For the past five years, I have been a loyal guest at Vive Hotel Waikiki, always impressed by its cleanliness, excellent location, and friendly staff. However, my recent visit was a stark departure from my previous experiences. It appears that the hotel is no longer maintaining its high cleaning standards or basic upkeep.
During my stay, I had the misfortune of staying in four different rooms, all of which were disappointingly similar in their lack of cleanliness and maintenance. The first room I checked into, a Cosmopolitan Queen along the 09 line, was particularly grim. The walls were marked with dingy stains, dust collected in the corners, water stains marred the area behind the toilets, and there was a mysterious black footprint-like stain in the bathtub. The shower head was covered in green stains, indicating water buildup and mold, while the toilet rack was rusty. To make matters worse, the bed sheets had not been changed and bore a large footprint. The water stain on the wall appeared untouched by cleaning efforts.
After switching rooms, I found only marginal improvement. It seemed that the cleaning staff only superficially vacuumed, as evidenced by the untouched bathroom vent. This lack of attention to detail was frustrating, as I had to worry about the cleanliness and hygiene of my room during what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation.
One of the most concerning issues was the tubs filling with water between the floor and the tub itself. This created a moving, uneven, and slippery surface that felt like a waterbed underfoot while showering. Despite a maintenance worker attempting to address the problem, it recurred after each shower, posing a safety hazard as I nearly slipped multiple times. The shower curtains allow water to go outside and flood the floors. Half the shower curtain is mesh and water gets out.
When I brought these issues to the attention of the staff, they offered to have someone look into the problems, though their lack of surprise suggested that these issues were not new. This disappointing experience during what was meant to be a birthday celebration has led me to the decision that this will be my final stay at Vive Hotel Waikiki. The high price I paid for such subpar accommodations was truly disheartening.

Vive Hotel was wonderful. Both the front desk and the valet attendants were so nice and welcoming. There are cold water filter stations in the lobby and at the valet (which was so nice to fill up on the way out/on the way back to the room). There is an entire room filled with Beach stuff for your to borrow - just incredible - chairs, towels, Beach bags, umbrellas, kids toys, etc. It was so nice to have that available to us. The breakfast was awesome - an egg and a protein every day and tons of fruit and pastry and oatmeal. The location was fantastic - we could walk three short blocks to Waikiki beach - and as we walked, we passed so many hotels with cars four/five deep waiting for their valet (we never had a wait at Vive). It was just far away from the action that the traffic wasn't bad, but you still felt the vibe. We originally booked a Cosmopolitan queen room with an ocean view (small window that looked out on the ocean side of the hotel). But the room was too small for us. I check with the desk and was able to upgrade for our next few nights to a Junior Suite (non-ocean view) for a minimal price increase. I highly recommend this room category. Both room and bathroom were large. And - we had to pack up/leave our bags with the desk, and when we returned for the day to get our new keys, they had moved our bags to the new room for us! So nice, I've never had a hotel do that before. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again if visiting Ohau.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Vive, and it all started with the friendly staff who helped book us at the last minute after our unfortunate experiences at another vacation rental. We were given the suite special, which was a direct offer available through their hotel website for 30% off their suite rooms. This made the pricing quite competitive, and the suite turned out to be spacious, clean and had a modern feel. The location of course was fantastic with a short walk to the beach, and many beach supplies (including body boards!) were readily available for guests.
The included breakfast is rare for hotels in Waikiki, and was particularly helpful on days when we were on a run (I still recommend checking out some of the many enjoyable breakfast places in the area). The lobby, although under temporary construction, was a great place to unwind and was always stocked with coffee and other drinks. We also really appreciated the filtered water dispenser in the lobby, much more convenient than having to buy water - more hotels should offer this! Finally, they stored our luggage all day in a secure room when we had a late flight. I'd definitely recommend giving Vive a shot, and checking out their direct offers when you do!

This was our second visit to Vive Hotel Waikiki. There are a number of positives. Great location, reasonably priced (by Waikiki standards), a decent breakfast, clean rooms and professional staff, who gave us great advice around accessing Sim Cards. But there is room for improvement. We were in a Cosmopolitan room. It was well kept, but the air conditioning unit was noisy, and the shower was in a bathtub. I think older people would struggle with that. Although the breakfast was adequate, some more protein options would be good, as would access to milk (rather than just cream or half-and-half). We arrived at 11am and had to wait about 3.5 hours for a room. I think more could have been done to help us as we'd traveled over night from New Zealand and were exhausted. Overall, a good hotel, with a few improvements required.

This is our second time staying at Vive Waikiki. Location is great - walking to the beach is quick and easy and having the beach equipment is great. A long walk to Leonard’s Bakery and back was worth it and we did it a few times. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of fresh fruit (lots of flies too) and having flavoured water, tea and coffee available 24/7 is really nice. Staff very friendly. Unfortunately the A/C unit in our room was noisy and unreliable for temperature so we had poor sleep for 17 nights. Our room could have been cleaner - the carpet behind the chair was very dirty/dusty, and the daily cleaning in the bathroom was not very thorough. Not impressed that after our long stay, when we asked for a late check-out, the only offer was to rent another room for $200.

We really appreciate how the staff took care of us. We arrived early, around 9am and had nowhere to go. The reception offered us a card to access the bathroom in case we needed to use or even freshen up. The room was available hours earlier than the checkin time, the staff went above and beyond to make it ready before time at no extra charge. This makes Vive Hotel exeptional at prioritising their guests needs, which made us know we would be staying here again. The service was more than we expected. Most hotels in Australia service your room at request, or at a price. Our room was serviced daily, and whenever we asked for something the staff were very happy and ready to assist.
The room was spacious enough for us two, and the staff made it beautiful with chocolate and a card for our anniversary on the second day, once they learned we were there to celebrate our 20th anniversary. This made our stay even more special. The mini-fridge, the extra amenities, the bathroom, all were wonderful and sufficient to our needs.
Vive is located at the heart of everything. Shops, restuarants, buses, all at a walking distance! We felt at home from day one! Not to mention the less three minutes walk to the beach! Vive hotel makes it even more convenient if one wants to spend time at the beach without buying or carrying bulky staff. They are very friendly and accomodating to the guests! The always available flavoured water and tea/coffee facilities, highspeed wifi, 24hr reception, walking distance to whatever you need.
We liked how well we were taken care of and made to feel special from our arrival. The friendly staff who were ready and willing to assist and they way they made us feel appreciated. We didn't like that we had such a short time to stay at Vive. That's why we plan to come back soon for a longer stay, which Vive makes possible. Thank you for such a memorable time!

Service: - Front desk staff are so sweet and friendly. We were there to celebrate an anniversary and they left us a kind gift and note in our room, which we were not expecting. - Housekeeping staff are average, but not too attentive. We were lacking conditioner and body wash for the 2nd half of the stay in the attached bottles, but they weren't refilled, even after multiple days. Wasn't a huge issue, but it was something I noted. - Water and hot tea/coffee available 24/7, which is very convenient!
Breakfast: - Complimentary breakfast, which is always great! - Good selection of fruit, breads, pastries, hot items (e.g., eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc.) - Lots of staff refilling items, cleaning, and generally ensuring that the breakfast area is tidy - Seating is sometimes challenging because there are so many guests eating breakfast
Room: - Elevator can take some time given the volume of guests vs. number of elevators (2) - Room is small but practical - Bathtub did not seem clean (I would never have taken a bath in it) - AC unit in the room is extremely loud, and you need to have it running in order to deal with the high humidity in the room (it can feel stuffy very quickly).
Overall, my experience at this hotel was above average (I will emphasize that the service was excellent), though I will say that one might expect more for a hotel at this price point.

Aloha, Yes, the valet parking is complimentary daily. However, please make sure that the military/government promotion is selected. If any other promotion aside from this is selected, valet parking will be $40.
Upon check in, this type of ID will be asked for to verify, whatever department it may be: DoD, army, navy, etc.
An exceptional value as valet costs are expensive in the entire Waikiki area. Thank you.

While the Living Room area is open for vaccinated guests to eat breakfast, at this time (12/1) because of the local mandates breakfast is still in take out containers.
We are hoping in the coming weeks that we can start to revert back to buffet style but many of this will depend on tourism in the weeks to come.

Assuming you made the reservation on our own website, we process the first nights room and tax as a deposit. This deposit is applied to your bill.
We need this deposit to secure your reservation due to the cancellation policy. In the event of a late cancellation, the one night deposit is forfeited. If its cancelled outside the policy, the deposit is refunded in full. The hotel needs to have some sort of recourse to take in the event of a late cancel as we are holding the room.
