We had the most wonderful family staycation at Renaissance Honolulu Hotel and Spa. We decided to spend 1 night to try this new hotel. Check-in went swiftly and the ambassador named Tim was so nice to take his time to explain about all the amenities provided at the hotel. You get a special wristband for being Marriott Elite member. When we walked into the room, we were mesmerized by the room that came with sub-zero fridge, Nespresso Coffee machines with 6 pods, nice fluffy robes and slippers! Floor to ceiling window also gave so much natural light and wonderful view of the city and ocean. Kids loved the oversize tub in the bathroom! After checking-in, we decided to try the restaurant in the lobby called MARA. Server Alex was very welcoming and attentive. He gave a couple different recommendations, and they were all so delicious. You MUST TRY tasting trio, Ahi crudo, and mushroom pizza. We also took the complimentary shuttle to Waikiki so we didn't have to deal with parking. You felt like a celebrity riding on this Mercedes sprinter. We ended the night by having a family BBQ time on one of the BBQ pavilions. We made the reservation through Spa and they were able to reserve the space for 4 hours. Kids were able to go in and out of the pool while the adults were grilling BBQ and drinking local beer!
Next morning, we were so excited to try the club lounge as this is the ONLY hotel in Oahu offering lounge access for Elite Marriott Bonvoy members. We enjoyed the continental breakfast overlooking the magic island ocean view to start the day. We've been to many luxury hotels but none of them came even close to the experience we had at Renaissance!

Biggest pros: The room is the most spacious I've seen in Honolulu, and I've stayed at more than a dozen. If you have more than two people, you'll appreciate the extra space.
Biggest con: It's also farther from Waikiki beach than any other Waikiki-area hotel, about a 40-minute walk. It's about 15 minutes' walk from Ala Moana beach.

The hotel doesn't have the hurley burley of Waikiki, which is either a pro or con depending on what you're looking for. I appreciated the calm, serene atmosphere. Spacious bathroom and tub felt plus heated toilet seat with bidet felt luxurious, but the water pressure was low.

Strongly recommend Oasis Foot Spa across the street in the Bank of Hawaii building. They're highly trained Japanese therapists who practice Taiwanese foot reflexology, a niche therapy that's above the typical foot spas around.

Aloha Kyalin, Thank you for taking the time to write us a wonderful review. We're thrilled to hear that you found our rooms to be the most spacious in Honolulu! We understand that our distance from Waikiki beach may be a concern for some guests, but we're glad you appreciated the serene atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle. We do offer complimentary shuttle services into Waikiki by the hour. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with the water pressure and assure you that we'll look into addressing this promptly. Thank you for the recommendation of Oasis Foot Spa. We always value local insights and will be sure to pass this along to future guest! We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future. Mahalo, The Renaissance Honolulu Team

In my 28 years of leisure and business travels, I’ve stayed at my fair share of truly amazing g hotels but have never felt the urge to write a review. This is my first hotel review ever.

Before arriving, I called to adjust my arrival and was accommodated immediately.

When I arrived at 11 a.m., they invited me to move into the room early.

The entire staff is friendly, polite, and extremely accommodating.

The hotel amenities are out of this world: indoor/outdoor gym, pool, cold plunge, hot pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and more! I used them all daily!

The room is beautifully decorated with soft linens and a great bed and pillows. Housekeeping did a great job keeping the room tidy and would greet me every time we crossed paths in the hallway.

I can keep going but what made the difference is the people. Every single staff I encountered at this hotel was positive, warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful.

Great job, Renaissance! The only place I will stay in when I visit Oahu!

Thank you for an excellent experience and exquisite stay!

Mahalo!

I don’t recommend this hotel for any of the ambassador elite members that would spend their nightly upgrade. It isn’t worth it. I’ve used my last night upgrade reward for this stay and have put in my request MONTHS ago yet my “upgrade” was possibly one of the worse that I wanted to take back the upgrade as again wasn’t worth it. The representative who helped me told me I was upgraded 3 days before checking in only to find out that most of the “upgrade” suites were sold out. I think there is so much disconnect here. The views of this hotel is not pleasant and so is the location. I don’t recommend this hotel for experience, location and service.

After a horrible trip, we arrived at the hotel where we were first greeted by the parking attendant, who was incredibly nice and respectful. Mindy, one of the best friendly and helpful ambassador staff, assisted us throughout our stay, guiding us from the moment we arrived. Despite arriving early, the staff kindly accommodated us by storing our luggage until our room was ready, giving us time to explore the nearby mall.

Location, staff and amenities were all amazing! My husband and I spend a week here and were in the perfect place to get some peace and quiet but only a 15 min bike ride to the bustle of Waikiki! Spending a day at the hotel spa was just we needed after days of exploring the island.
Thank you so much to the staff for their kindness along with suggestions/recommendations. Jogi was our bartender most of the trip and was full of recommendations for activities/restaurants to check out around the island. Plus a fabulous bartender! Joseph, pool attendant, was also very friendly and cheerful making us feel so at home! We truly did not want to leave! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The hotel is brand new and everything was very nice and clean! The front desk and all of the staff were very friendly and genuinely welcoming. The pool is beautiful and there are two hot tubs.

I personally didn’t love the location, but my friend did. The hotel is between the Walmart and the mall. This is very convenient, I just prefer to be closer to Waikiki. They do offer a shuttle to Waikiki and Ala Moana Beach - so that is nice.

Our room did not have a balcony. There was a sliding glass door that opened, but it was really more like a window. It was cool, but I do like to sit on the balcony. We had an ocean view.

Food and beverages were pricey - but not any more than any of the other Hawaii Hotels.

The Renaissance Honolulu hotel is a true gem! The entire staff is truly amazing! Everyone greets you from the moment you arrive at valet to the front desk. I was upgraded upon arrival to a spacious corner suite and received a warm welcome gift upon arrival. Patrice and Trang were very accommodating and extremely helpful with all my inquiries throughout my 6 day stay.

While the Renaissance hotel is not oceanfront, it is not far from Waikiki with shuttle service available on the hour. It is an excellent business hotel located next to the Ala Moana hotel and a few blocks to the Hawaii Convention Center.

It happens to be the only Marriott hotel in Oahu with an executive lounge offering complimentary breakfast with a view for elite members. There was also complimentary use of the Japanese spa which has a sauna and cold plunge pool.

I happened to be staying there during the Grand Opening event which was held at the Mara restaurant onsite. It was definitely a vibe! I am still thinking about the delicious seafood!

I have already booked a room block for my group attending a conference in October. I can’t wait for my colleagues to experience this top notch hotel, service and all the amenities offered.

Thank you to the Renaissance Honolulu for a memorable stay! I will definitely be back! :)

Perfect location, especially for extended stay. Removed from the touristy hustle and bustle of Honolulu hotels, situated on the equally beautiful Ala Moana Beach. They also offer a shuttle to Waikiki when you prefer that vibe. Amazing pool, spa, and amenities on sky deck. Restaurant was delicious and convent as well. Reserve a BBQ cabana and pick out some delicious local fresh seafood to bbq pool side.
