We really enjoyed 3 nights at this relaxing and comfortable B&B on a quiet street under Diamond Head. Joanne is a wonderful host. We really enjoyed hearing stories about Hawaii's plantation history and raising her family on the islands; she truly embodied the aloha spirit we were hoping for. The Princess Ruth suite was quite large, as was the en... More

The Diamond Head Bed and Breakfast in Honolulu was quiet, beautiful, and interesting. Close to a nice public beach. Accommodating and informative hostess. We loved the highly vegetative grounds and neighborhood.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at this lovely B & B. Owner Joanne was gracious and helpful and the breakfasts were terrific. The second morning we were treated to some very delicious dim sum -- after another guest had requested it and my husband and I expressed our enthusiasm for the idea. Our room -- the Makai Suite... Sure...this place has seen better days, however, our room was huge with two double beds - an amazing view from our full length veranda. It overlooked Waikiki night lights. Bus transportation was around the corner - # 2 or 23/24 were good. Back gate will get you to main road or walk down thru the park towards the beach -... More

If you prefer the comfort and clinical sameness of chain restaurants and hotels, then this place is not for you. But if you travel for new experiences and appreciate the quirks and eccentricities of local culture, then a stay at the Diamond Head Bed and Breakfast is the kind of authentic Hawaiian adventure you'll enjoy. The proprietress, Joanne, is an... More

The bad: no A/C. No breeze for our 2 nights. Birds awakened us with beautiful song. The bad: A bit disheveled outside of rooms, but rooms were clean and neat. The good: Great cook and conversationalist; Joanne was a delightful older lady. The good: Lots of room for a party of 8-10; big living room, dining room, bedrooms. The good:... More

Old Hawaiian Charm. Located on one of the best streets in Diamond Head. This multimillion dollar property experience will not be here in the years to come. It is not perfect, but what a fabulous time we had here. JoAnn the owner is 84 and runs the place. Breakfast was unending sitting around a larger table listening to old stories... More

This b and b is in a very convenient location, the hostess is very friendly and will answer your travel questions and give you tips on things not to miss, etc. However, the house has fallen into serious neglect and is sadly pretty dirty and disorganized. While eating breakfast we saw a mouse climbing on the screen door (outside)- then... More

We stayed in the Makai suite for 2 nights, and left this Friday before Hurricane Ana. The view of Waikiki from our lanai was terrific..The lack of a/c was not a problem since the tradewinds come though at night, and there is a fan by the bed. The house is located on a lush acre of trees and bushes. The... More

I put a lot of trust in tripadvisor reviews, but I have never been so perplexed as now when I read recent Diamond Head B&B reviews and compare it to our own 3 night experience. We agree with other reviewers that describe Joanne as "gracious, having a sweet smile-like a favorite aunt", and the atmosphere as "quirky & bohemian." However,... More
