It's been 4 yrs since my last stay here and HR Waikiki continues to deliver. Staff were very helpful and obliging. The hotel cannot be beat for location to all things Waikiki. There is also a car rental place in the hotel if you want to tour the island for the day! The Regency club staff are always a pleasure to see as they continue to deliver excellent hospitality. The water bottles provided in the room were very handy and eco-friendly!
We had booked this through Costco Travel. After years of pandemic isolation, we needed this getaway. The bell desk checked our luggage even though we were four hours early. We explored the immediate surrounding area during that time. The location is unbelievable. The first impression from the lobby balcony does NOT do it justice. The check-in line had several impatient guests in front of us, but we are on vacation so just chilled while others complained vehemently. We are right across the street from the beach and the ocean. After receiving our keys, we headed up to the 32nd floor of the Diamond Head Tower for the ocean view. The floor to ceiling balcony door opened up to the Pacific Ocean, along with the sights and sounds of Waikiki. Each day we went down to the pool area to check out chairs and towels for the short trek across the street. The convenience cannot be overstated. While others schlep their coolers, chairs, towels and toys across blocks of busy Waikiki traffic to get to "our beach," we just wait for the elevator and crosswalk sign before floating in the water. Note to everyone. The blue umbrellas and chairs on the beach are NOT a part of this hotel. They are available from the tents on the beach for $30/2 hours; $50/4 hours; $60/all day. You can find other vendors away from the beach for cheaper options. We discovered there is a small, but thriving, farmer's market Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fresh cut fruits, vegetables, crafts, jewelry, snacks are all available. Having three ABC stores within this property is very convenient. We didn't realize the third store in the back of the Ewa Tower until the end of our trip.…
This was our 5th time staying at this hotel, and all of them have been great. Our experience begins at check in. Grace Kahuna at the front desk has been great to us. She has been very helpful to us during our visits. On this past visit we had trouble with the tv, called maintenance and they were there within minutes and took care of the problem. As in the past the Regency Club was well run and the food was very good. We intend to come back to the hotel as often as possible. Mahalo and Aloha
On arrival, poor service from the outset. No one to help with the luggage. After a v long flight you are left to drag your bags up an elevator to reception. After the usual ‘ we are going to take a huge deposit on your card, for what?’., you are directed to the lifts. TOO FEW LIFTS for such a huge hotel, not uncommon for 20 people + queuing . Restaurant is poor in quality and choice, and relatively expensive even for Hawaii, the breakfast in particular was terrible. The only positive I can really give this hotel is the fantastic location to the beach. I will return to Hawaii but will give this property a wide berth.
We paid good money to stay in a very noisy, old and dated hotel. I would never stay here again. The hotel plays lound music all day and all night long that can be heard from the bedrooms. The staff were very rude when I complained at 3am about the music and refused to turn it off. The hotel needs significant investment made in updating its rooms and facilities. Poor value for money, go and stay across the road for similar price at the Outrigger.
I am a Hyatt Globalist. This hotel and staff provided a great experience. Management even emailed me prior to my visit to welcome me and acknowledge my Globalist status. They upgraded our room to a wonderful ocean front view and left me and my girlfriend a nice note and box of Hawaiin chocolates to celebrate our anniversary. The property shows its age and wear, but that is understandable due to the humidity of a tropical climate and ocean front hotel. One drawback was the pool was crowded most of the week we visited, but the wonderful beach across the street was a great alternative. When I called for housekeeping services, the housekeeper showed up promptly and did an amazingly great job freshening up the room. We tipped her before we left, but I think she would have done a great job anyway. We especially loved how comfortable sleeping in the bed was. I don't usually encounter or know how to use a bidet type toilet seat, but my girlfriend used it and thought it was impressive and useful. The staff from the management, front desk, to the pool, and club lounge were so kind and friendly, we felt that it wasn't just great customer service, but a genuinely kind and friendly Hawaiian Aloha spirit to make our vacation the best it could be. I hope they are compensated well and appreciated! Mahalo!…
If you are looking for a hotel with great service and the perfect location, then the Hyatt Regency is for you. The staff provides incredible customer service. The hotel room was perfectly cleaned and I really loved the view of the beach from my room balcony. There are plenty of options for food in and around the hotel. The hotel provides towels and chairs for the beach, which was really convenient. The hotel has shops that are easily accessible if you want to buy souvenirs or snacks/drinks. Whenever we needed anything the response was rapid and professional. i stayed for a week and I am very happy with my experience.
The staff was very professional and welcoming. The housekeeping staff worked above and beyond my expectations. The facility is a little dated but well maintained. The food was well prepared with great presentation.
Ocean front views are beautiful to see sunsets and ocean activity. This hotel location is so convenient for strolling the main avenue. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. they had good bands playing in lobby some nights.
Superb location & access to beaches. Very close proximity to differing food outlets depending on tastes & what wanting to spend. Shopping on doorstep either way. Rooms excellent size & 100% clean always.
