This trip was to celebrate my mother's birthday (she is in her 70's). The morning of May 15th we were walking from breakfast at Quiora, and I slipped on the wet floor and fell. While there was a runner, it did not cover the entire area- there were no signs etc. I fell in front of the spa and someone came out to check on me, she called the 'medic' type person who gave me a few ice packs and asked if I wanted to go to the hospital. I was shocked, sore, and embarrassed, and just wanted to go to our room. I kept thinking- what if my mom was ahead of me, what if she fell instead of me? I planned this vacation for months and it turned into a stay in an expensive hotel. This impacted more than just me.. my mother's birthday was significantly impacted. I cannot ignore the fact that my 7 day vacation is not what I planned, expected or paid for. It is upsetting that what had to be a known issue - is impacting me even today. I had to cancel all my excursions and to make matters worse, The Ritz team claimed that allowing me to cancel my excursions was sufficient accommodation. The front desk staff did express concern. I still have yet to receive even a ‘are you ok?’ from the hotel manager. I tried to work through their process to no avail. I would not stay at this property again if it was the only accommodation in Wakikki. There are several excellent hotels for significantly less cost- and I believe would offer significantly more care and concern for their guests, I stayed in hotels across the world and have never been treated in such a disrespectful manner. I hope this review helps someone.…
