Hmmm - it was once so grand, but now it's simply "just ok." Nothing beautiful and breathtaking - lobby is not vibrant or even welcoming - it's just "a lobby." The rooms were fine, the bed was absolutely horribly stiff and uncomfortable - the cleaning staff did a great job. The pools. Truly odd and not worthy of spending time...

After reading other reviews, I opted to pay an extra $50 a night for an ocean facing updated jr. suite, I thought it was worth it. Spacious bathrooms, necessary kitchen amenities, big bed and huge sliding doors overlooking ocean made it very relaxing. Front desk staff/reception could be improved upon. I had contacted the hotel weeks in advance about an...

The location was perfect for my family (4 Adults and 2 children). Photos are exactly the same as on the website. The property manager was available straight away to let us into the condo when we arrived in Honolulu. Great views of the ocean and marina. Walking distance to everything such as shops, restaurants, Waikiki beach, Ala Moana shopping centre...

Nice room with good functioning full kitchen. Short walk to anywhere. Clean room, friendly helpful maids Pools were clean main pool a bit dated. Newer pool is more of a shallow water sit down type. Beautiful beach but you may want water shoes at this end. Overall good place to stay and budget friendly!

The Ilikai has been still a landmark of the area, though nowadays it's been surrounded by upscale condos and hotels. The front fellow informed us that the room we were assigned had just been renovated; however, the hotel was build in 1964 and the bathroom door, window lock, and many other features suggest its "history." Free...

Our room was renovated and clean. It also had a nice kitchen so if we had stayed longer, it would have come to good use. The hotel had a super market inside too. It had everything you needed and it was also situated in a good location next to the Hilton where there were many restaurants, cafes and bars. Across...

Some apartments are better than others. We stayed in both 08 and 24 versions. 08 has a marina view. 24 has a lagoon and toward diamond head view. Apartments vary because some are privately owned and some are managed by the hotel. Originally built over 50 years ago, condos vary in renovation standard depending on ownership. Check photos for the...

Unfortunately we were only here a night but everything was great. The location is right on the water with an excellent view. Very clean and updated with a full kitchen. I would recommend staying here if you are here for a few days so you can go to the local markets and utilize the kitchen. The restaurant downstairs has a...

The Ilikai is fine, nothing more. It suffers in comparison to its Waikiki neighbors, which have seemingly managed to remain contemporary and up-to-date. The Ilikai's open-air balconies are a plus, however. But the dated carpeting and furnishings knock this hotel down several rungs. The rooms are outfitted for pre-laptop and cellphone days -- outlets are inconveniently located. This hotel needs...

Aloha bigband5309! Thank you for your comments. I suspect you may have stayed in a Vacation Rental By Owner (VRBO) and not in one of our newly renovated Luxury Suites.
