I was so excited to kick off my vacation after the covid lockdown. Picking the right hotel is a big part of the process. This was a big mistake. If you’re looking for Ritz service you won’t find it here. From the moment you walk in, there’s nothing special about this place. I’ve stayed at Ritz Carlton’s in many parts of the world and I can honestly say this place is lacking in so many ways. What happened to the real Ritz? Pros: 1. Housekeeping rocked it. I notice the small details and they did a great job. 2. David with the concierge team! He found out we weren’t given lays the first day and gave us a couple and had that Ritz quality service we missed during our trip. Cons: 1. Upon entering the valet just waited by the car, no hello, we didn’t know if he even worked for the hotel. 2. A women greets us nothing special and we later found out we were supposed to get lays. No water, no excitement. Lame 3. You go up a level to the lobby that looked super unorganized. The staff looked really inefficient, again no water or hello until you get in a long line and you finally chat with an unenthusiastic person at the reception desk. 3. The next day we go to the pool at 7am. We’re told the staff doesn’t start until 8 but the pool is open and people are swimming. A couple of us looked for towels. Finally we find someone to get another front desk person to give us a towel and we set everything up. The impression that I got was that we were bothering them. Not good. 4. When I booked we were told the beach was very close. Not true. We arrive and the front deck rep tells us 15 min. Wait, really? We love walking but gosh, we didn’t want to stay this far from the beach. 5. Restaurant: we waited for more than five minutes just standing in front of two women at the check in for a table one morning. It’s ok to say hi, give us a moment we will seat you shortly. Nope nothing! So finally we asked, do we need to seat ourselves? This was really odd at at Ritz. Can’t wait to leave, waste of money for sure. I bet we would’ve had a much better stay at the Westin or heck Marriot. There really is nothing special about this place. The staff needs a boost, this place is lackluster to say the least.…
We had a great stay complete with a super sized king bed, well stocked kitchen and, a beautiful view of the beach. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. It’s right in the heart of of Waikiki with shops and the beach in close proximity. Superb!
Friends from california in town for a weekend and we had the best, most relaxing time. It was our first time in this location and we had big expectations since we used to stay at the Ritz suites and residences on Maui. We loved the suite, the service, and the convenience of the location. We had so much fun, we didn't even leave Waikiki.Highly recommend!
