Stayed here while TDY to Ft Shafter. Base lodging was full due to RIMPAC, which worked out well for us as this is the best place to stay on the island. While we encountered traffic during the daily commute, it didn't make our stay at the Hale Koa any less desirable. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was...

Location, location, location! Oh, the price is nice to, too. Front desk staff friendly and efficient, but, check in can take a while. This is more a result of the airline arrivals than anything the hotel can control. Relax, you are in paradise. Not crazy about the restaurants at the hotel; they were fair but nothing to get excited about....

The Hale Koa is a family friendly resort. There is a mini post exchange inside the resort with friendly staff and very good operating hours. The rooms are large and beds were comfortable and the Luau was amazing!. There is a car rental company onsite so we rented a car for a few days and ventured out to areas not...

My husband described the hotel perfectly, "It might not be a 5-star resort, but for the price, this place is perfect!!" Very affordable, clean, fun, relaxing, ocean front, good for all ages, great location, and we loved the onsite exchange. We had a partial oceanfront room. Loved using the in-room coffee maker and sitting out on the balcony in the...

The location is awesome and the price can't be beat. No, it's not a luxury resort, but we certainly got more than our money's worth. We loved being so close to the beach and having a BX right at the hotel. You can walk next door to the Hilton to hang out at their bar, or go to Starbucks, etc....

Excellent beach front property with a wonderful pool for toddlers. The rooms are small but well equipped. We did eat at the breakfast buffet onsite and I would not recommend it. Overall I don't recommend Honolulu for families. It is very crowded and commercialized. But if this where you are going the Hale Koa is a great place for military...

Just staying a 8 days at Hale Koa - I will do a review in the classic AAR format. What went well: 1. Location was awesome. Right in the heart of Waikiki. 2. Price. When I booked it was about half the price of the Hilton Hawaiian Village next door, 3 Separate Adult pool. Very nice not to have to...

Our family of five stayed here in late June. The resort offered everything we needed at the best prices around. We had to reserve our rooms a full year in advance to ensure we got in when we wanted to travel. Because we are five people, we were required to book two rooms. I was a little disappointed that we...

We spent 10 days here back in April and had an absolute blast. The location is off the chain, the customer service was great, and the tours and tickets office was very helpful with getting tours set up for us. There are a few places to eat onsite and a Luau that you can purchase tickets for as well. The...

The location and price, but don't expect anything else. The service provided by the staff is poor and border line rude as if though they did not want to be there. I am retired and disabled military which this resort caters to mostly. The rooms have not been updated in a long time as the bed sheets look extremely outdated....
