Wonderful experience at Hale Koa hotel! Eat at Happy snack bar for breakfast on the go and don't forget to try all the alcoholic drinks at the barefoot bar they are delish! Also get the special for $10 at Happy's, they have Kahula pork plate and baked mahi mahi was awesome. My hubby and I loved that they had an...

First the good. Check in was easy. Line as long but moved quickly. Everyone was friendly which is odd for MWR lodging. The beach is literally out the back door as well as a park. The food in the take out shop, Happy Store, is pretty good and cheap by Waikiki standards. Everyone was nice and getting through the shop...

Eligible military/DOD employees, and retirees are allowed to make room reservations here. I've been coming here for over 30 years since my father was on active duty. Back then, they only had one tower (not two). You can't beat the price, and the location. Next door is the Hilton Hawaiian Village … sure, you can get the military rate at...

You would never know that this was a military sponsored hotel located on the beach. The registration was quick and easy. Refreshments are available in the lobby. Registration lobby is open-air. The environment was very Hawaiian oriented. We had a room with a balcony with 2 chairs overlooking the ocean and it was spectacular. The room itself was large with...

so, the deal here is the best. it's so below market price in every way, given the location - on a very nice stretch of beach and central to everything - it's a win win win. so if you're eligible, and this is the only way you can get to hawaii, then come here and you will love it. that...

This was our second visit to the Hale Koa. We again travelled with our two grandsons, 8 and 10. We were really pleased to see that things were improved from our last visit, which wasn't all that bad. The rooms were quiet, beds very comfortable. As a handicapped person, my accessible room was fine. This hotel is over 50 years...

As a DOD civilian employee I am honored to be able to stay at the Hale Koa among many of our current active duty soldiers and family members and veterans and retirees. The Hale Koa is a beautiful hotel in a great location in the Waikiki area, but away from the vast majority of tourist traffic. The room rates are...

Truly, this is the most affordable hotel in Waikiki. But let's be absolutely clear on this, the place is only for military and DOD personnel. That said, the people who serve in our military deserve this place. It is clean and well maintained considering it's age. Not that it is super old, but the Hale Koa was already showing it's...

For military active, retired, and family, as well as DoD this is a great choice. The prices can't be beat if you want to stay on the beach. Room rates, parking fees, meals, and sundries are all cheaper here. There is a huge pool, several bars including a poolside bar, snack bars, souvenir shop, and frequent night entertainment. Within walking...

Following a 10-day stay on Kaua'i, I was privileged to be invited to stay at the Hale Koa Hotel in Fort De Russey; a resort for active and retired military. This was the perfect ending for my Hawaii trip. I will cherish the memories of the beautiful gardens, friendly staff, and beach views from the comfortable room. The men and...
