For our 1st stay, it was great. Great location, price, food places...I can not complain. Room decor needs to be updated but one can't have it all. Hale Koa is in a good central location for Honolulu landmark places. Parking could be improved as it was very full with banquet & wedding attendees. Hotel guests had to park on the...

First time in Hawaii, we were a party of 7, Hale Koa right on the beach, everything within walking distance, airport shuttle to and from Hale Koa excellent, town bus service only way to go, streets are very crowded, friendly people, food, room and service were great. The rooms might be a little out dated, but your not going to...

Loved staying here because of the commissary shopping on site, the buffet style restaurant and the small but convenient gym. The pool and beach access are great too. The rooms are a little outdated but overall it was great.

This was the first time I stayed at the Hale Koa. In a word, the best. While it might not be the most modern hotel, it had everything I wanted. The one thing that I really enjoyed was that you don't feel crowded on the hotel grounds. There was space. I enjoyed waking up and walking down to the beach...

The room was dated and the bed had a polyester cover that would best be avoided. The front desk service is slow at best and the bellmen just don't understand the customer service concept. They are building a hotel next door so if you don't get the right room you will be stuck listening to construction all day long. The...

I was very impressed with the grounds and the beautifully kept hotel. True, it's an older hotel- but compared to the Hilton Hawaiian village next door you would rather stay here. Bar drinks are between 5-7 dollars, breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet is 13 dollars and there is a Starbucks coffee cart that opens up early! The rooms are dated,...

My first time here and in a "standard room" which had a much nicer view than expected. The room was very large, clean and comfortable, albeit a bit dated. They still use blankets and bedspreads which most better hotel abandoned a decade ago in favor of clean white comforters. You might also want to pack an extension cord or two...

This place is amazing. A military hotel on Waikiki Beach. Very inexpensive, considering the location! Restaurants and shops in hotel are great. Snorkeling directly outside of the hotel is amazing. Sea Turtles everywhere! A must go to kind of place!!

We are fortunate enough to stay here as Hotel Guests of my brother in law who is retired military. Hotel is beautifully decorated for Christmas in the open air lobby! Everyone here is extremely friendly! Walking distance to Beach and all of Waikki! Highly recommend.. Ask for Beach Front. Rooms are compact... But certainly comfortable!!!

This gets you to Hawaii in a basic way. Check in and out is laborious. I skipped the breakfast buffet and went next door to Ocean House - good. Spa service - reflexology - cheap but not worth it. Bed basic but still has the polyester coverlet that is best avoided. Shower pressure weak. Easy beach access and good beach...
