The Hilton is a 5 star resort in Waikiki. The amenities of pool and work out facility are excellent. The one bedroom unit we had was large and having a full kitchen was great so we could cook our own meals. The resort is near the bus stop and walkable to lots of dining and shopping. Staff is wonderful and attentive to all our needs!

Part of our days, we stayed at Royal Hawaiian also. I find it better than the Hilton (FYI I am an owner). Their rentals are definitely cheaper $62 for umbrella and 2 chairs ALL DAY vs. $22 per hour (if I remember it right). The staff at Royal were friendlier. When you ask questions, they’ll tell you to scan a QR code, I just wanted them to tell me where the pools where. We asked for late check out but not allowed, Royal Hawaiian accommodated us. The beach at Royal Hawaiian is nicer than the one by Hilton. But if you want lodging where you can cook and do laundry due to extended stay then Hilton might work out for you. But Hilton overall is getting so big as far as ownership that I feel like you don’t get the attention as you should as owners. They use to give bottled water and when I asked and was told only renters not owners because they “pay” (and we don’t?). If you planning on a luau go to Paradise Cove. Their luaus location is much nicer than the Hilton also (by the seaside), but the food is banquet food as I assume all luaus with big crowd would be.

Our stay was OK. Navigating through the hotel and trying to find the ins and outs was very difficult. We felt that the addition signs would help solve this. All of the Hilton hotels are together, but hard to see what is what. The staff and cleanliness was great. Everyone is very vigilant about keeping the area clean and safe. We were unlucky to have a room that had an AC that was making a lot of noise. If you like coffee in the morning and hoping to buy starbucks from the hotel, just know that the prices are way higher than at a different location that is not in the hotel. All in all, it was nice but didn’t quite feel as relaxed or calm as we’d hope.

Have owned 4 annual weeks in the HGVC system since 1995 and this stay has by far been the worst. Stayed in a 1-bedroom which is advertised as suitable for 4 people - no way. It is so tiny as a couple we struggled to find floor space for our 2 standard sized suitcases. Resort caters to Japanese which is fine but more than once got stuck in lines where the guest didn't speak English and the staff member didn't speak Japanese?!?. When we checked in we were not told about the "owners lounge", only found out about it on day 5 of 7 when we asked a staff member what is the "arrival/departure lounge", turns out it is code for the "owners lounge". Too few pools that are overcrowded and under cared for, there is a designated "adults only" pool but it is at the far end of the resort and has ZERO amenities. Went to the Japanese steakhouse onsite where the food and drinks were below average, we asked for the HGVC advertised 15% discount and after some back and forth with the server got 10%?!? Bottom line is room is clean and a 10 minute walk to Waikiki beach, you can't do any worst and obviously can do better. Mahalo.

1. Check in for the penthouse was 45 minutes long! Unacceptable. Regardless of the time of year.
2. Elevator wait to check in on 35th floor: 32 minutes!
3. Check-in hostesses for the penthouse did not speak fluent English and it took another 15 minutes for them to check us in because of this. My husband's name is listed after mine, & they had the audacity to tell him he wasn't on the ownership list, and when they did see it they told him he was listed second! how dare they say that? It should not matter whether I'm listed first or he's listed first. We are a couple with different last names, and alphabetically mine is first. So very rude! We were very offended as was our VIP guest, who is the CEO of many companies.
4. The amenities in the penthouses should be of higher quality, not the cheap lotions and shampoos that you can get in any other room or at any other hotel! The penthouse experience should be top-notch and VIP from check-in to amenities all the way to check out. it felt very cheap and there was no distinguishing between penthouse and regular hotel room, other than size. Definitely NOT experience.
5. Owners and those that rent The penthouse, especially owners who rent The penthouse, should not have to pay the $50 parking fee. If anything, it should be at a discount. We are already paying for VIP.... Why not extend that to the parking and have us pay less?
6. 35th floor lounge breakfast: Mei Ling was the only person who treated us, and every other customer there, as special and VIP! She was the most gracious, friendly, warm person from the entire hotel!
7. One night we had to pick up our car at 11:30 p.m. and it took us 30 minutes to find someone to find our car keys from the valet and get our car. we called the valet desk no less than eight times and no one answered! We finally had to have the front desk call. They said we might have caught the valets in a shift change. That should not matter, somebody should be manning that desk.
This was definitely the worst, most insulting experience we've had as owners, and as penthouse renters. We rented the penthouse for two days for our CEO friend who is very VIP, and we stayed in at the third night. He was insulted and offended by the lack of service of Hilton and the Grand Waikikian, and he will never purchase nor stay at a Hilton property here in Hawaii again! That is how poorly Hilton reflected upon our friend. It was so embarrassing for us.

Room was not cleaned as promised. Even after calling guest services multiple times there was no response. For the amount they charge, it is ridiculous that they won’t come an clean the trash and vacuum the floors twice in a week. Don’t recommend this place if you have small kids.

We chose this Grand Waikikian tower at the Hilton Hawaiian Village because it was closest to the pool with the water slides. Little did we know, 2 of the 3 slides were not in use all week. If you want to get a chair at the pool, you need to line up an hour before it opens. There was always a sign at the pool saying it was at capacity when we arrived because they don't monitor their pools. They have no problem charging you a $50 per day resort fee for a pool with only one open slide and no one monitoring people coming in off the street. We witnessed teenagers jumping the gate or just walking behind other guests to get in. The resort pools were always so packed as well as Waikiki beach, so we left almost every day just to get away from the madness. I realize it's summer but that is all the more reason to be checking every person who comes into your pool area to make sure they are truly a paying guest. I was just at the Disney Aulani before here and everyone had a wristband. How hard is that?

Need a beach towel for your day at the beach? You will need to wait for the pool to open to get one. We got up early because we were still on CA time and asked the front desk for a beach towel but apparently you can't get them anywhere but the pool. We have always been able to get them at the front desk of other resorts.

We will never recommend this place to anyone even though the grounds were beautiful and the rooms were huge. We had a two bedroom villa with a partial ocean view. It was really a street view with a marina view in the distance.
We will only stay at Marriott KoOlina from now on because it's a slower pace and way less crowded.

Don't forget you also get to pay $50 parking per day in addition to your $50 per day resort fee. Marriott Ko Olina doesn't charge parking fees. Enjoy!

We needed to use some Delta vouchers and wanted a beach vacation in the US (so no Covid test to get back in and Florida was NOT an option) and decided to head to Oahu bc it seemed to have more things open compared to other islands. We normally book Airbnb’s and Vrbos bc we like to cook and live among locals. However, we also didn’t want to risk having to cancel at the last minute if we had positive Covid tests, hence the hotel booking. We chose this hotel bc of the kitchen and washer/dryer and ate in our room most days. The pools and hotel beaches were not as crowded as expected (we went off property a lot). Our room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel supplied us with a lot of supplies for dishes and laundry. They came in once during our stay to tidy up which was enough for us.

Yes there were long lines to get into the elevator and I couldn’t bear the thought of climbing 27 floors up, but it really was not that bad.

There are a lot of people complaining about the condition of their rooms, how busy the resort was or that there was not restaurants open. Those things did not bother us at all. You’re in Hawaii. Relax. Also the restrictions were imposed by the government so if you don’t like it, go to Florida or Texas and don’t wear a mask. Also, the poor staff likely has been downsized and you get what you get bc the hotel didn’t realize that there would be so much demand.

Rooms were excellent, very clean. Almost none of the hotel amenities were included with the very expensive room rates. Every activity required spending more, including beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. There was only one pool on the resort that we were able to swim in; the other two were freezing. Stores on-site (other than the ABC stores) are designer level stores. Restaurants were very expensive, to the point of price gouging.
Overall we had a decent vacation, but it was hard for a young family to participate in a lot of activities due to the cost

We stayed for 5 nights at Hilton Grand Vacation Club. We had the two-bedroom suite with a nice view of the pool and the marina. The room was quite, spacious, clean and comfortable. However, the amenities are not so much. The toiletries (shampoo/body wash/conditioner/soaps) are in such small bottles that a family of 4 will finish in 1 day. They are not very high quality either. Then the toilet paper is the thinnest I have ever encountered. The public restrooms in the mall have better toilet paper than what you will get from Hilton Grand Vacation Club. Parking is a little bit of walk from our building, it is costly for $60/day before tax. The pools are all very nice but also very crowded. There are no umbrellas or chairs if you don't line up to reserve them before 8am. There's a lot to do in Hilton Village like shopping, food and other activities, so we really enjoyed that. The staffs are friendly and helpful. My husband lost his credit card while swimming, and someone called up our room after it was found. Overall, we had a good time.
