I stayed at the Yankee Peddler on August 13th with my wife and daughter. We stayed in room 9 which was the suite with two bedrooms. All three of us really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was a couple...More
Two couple booked rooms for mid week during the summer. Newport is a popular place to be in the summer. We all found the rooms to be basic and small. They did have bathrooms in all the rooms but some were the size of closets....More
Very unfortunate but typical example of an old, historic home that has been renovated on the cheap and turned into a B&B with the frustrating result that it feels moldy, vaguely dirty, and overpriced. Our double room on the third floor was serviceable but nothing...More
We went to Newport for the first time and we're lucky enough to book the Yankee Peddler Inn. It is centrally located and we walked everywhere. This is a quaint place with lovely flower arrangements and a nice breakfast.
We booked two nights the "suite" for four people. Parking IS AN ISSUE if you have more than two cars (we had three) so my relative had to park on the street which is not easy. The streets are narrow and parking is Very Restricted....More

Hi there. I'm the inn manager at the Yankee Peddler, so I thought I'd do my best to answer your questions. We opened for the 2015 season on April 10 and already have had many happy guests. One Trip Advisor review has been posted since the reopening -- it is titled "A Hidden Gem." It was posted a few days ago, so you should see it there at this point. In terms of room choices, it really depends on your priorities! The Carriage House is most economical, whereas the Superior 1Q rooms and 2Q suites have four-poster beds and decorative fireplaces. Standard rooms are one notch up from Carriage House but in the Main House, on the second and third floors. All guests in all rooms are free to enjoy the rooftop deck, accessed from the third floor. For meals, we offer a self-serve complimentary continental breakfast which is simple but hearty. Fact is, with our location in central historic Newport, there are SO many restaurants at all price ranges within easy walking distance that experience tells us our guests prefer to be out and about for meals other than breakfast or that first cup of coffee. In the afternoons, we do offer fresh-baked cookies, and coffee/tea is available throughout the day. Parking and wifi are complimentary at the Yankee Peddler as well. In short, we are a truly great value with fine, clean, comfortable rooms in an authentic setting in the heart of historic Newport (if I do say so myself). Please let us know if we can help with further information or if you'd like to discuss specific room availability on the dates you might be visiting. We are always here at 401-846-1323 or, of course, you can contact us by email. Thanks for your inquiry, and have a nice day! Laura
