My husband and I travel constantly for work. The accommodations at the Guest Ranch were awesome. The rooms are very large and have two queen sized beds and a set of bunk beds with plenty of room to walk around still. Our dog just loves the ranch. There is plenty of open space for him. Ollie and Cecil are the... More

We're from The Netherlands and every year we make a trip to the US with our dogs. Searching the internet last year for a good location to stay, I stumbled onto the Buffalo Gap Ranch. It just looked perfect for us. A remote area, dog friendly and back to basic. That's how we like it. We liked it so much,... More

Our family reunion was held here & everyone enjoyed the large deck, lawn, fire pit, & easy access to Medora. The rooms are simple yet comfortable. There is a bar/restaurant on site & the staff was very accommodating to those with food allergies.

We stopped here for dinner last night after calling ahead to make sure they were still serving. We were assured the restaurant would be open for at least another hour and a half. Five minutes after calling, we were sitting in the restaurant/bar. There was a band playing outside, and a few people sitting outside listening. There were several people... More

This guest ranch and restaurant was the best experience ever! We stayed in a rustic cabin that was clean and spacious. We were able to bring our lab because no other place near Medora would accept animals. The guest ranch is about a mile off the main road and at the foot of the Badlands offering a fabulous view. The... More

The negatives: Not being familiar with Medura and the attractions, one is not told the place is 7-8 miles from Medura, it's not in the town, like the other lodging spots. There were flies all over the place, but perhaps that's the Badlands in August. There's a 3-4 percent added charge paying by credit card, that you're not told about... More

Another great visit at the Buffalo Gap and this time we ate breakfast there too yumm So sad when Medora hotels became dog unfriendly, but than we found the B Gap where even the own says it's a great places for the pups (dogs). Very peaceful place, you don't even hear the people in the other rooms. Everyone who works... More

When we arrived we checked in at the bar as others have mentioned they have. We payed cash for our 2 night stay and were given directions from barmaid on how to get to our site. When we got to our site we were taken back by all of the workers who were staying next to us. We went back... More

I really enjoyed my two nights here. It is very much a Mom-and-Pop outfit but in a good way, I enjoyed the down-home personal attention. You are in the Little Missouri Grasslands and have a nice, quiet view of the prairie. The Roosevelt N.P. south entrance is just ten minutes east. I was expecting the worst with the rooms but... We took horses here to ride and the facilities like other riders have mentioned are POOR, much like coming across a lonnnnggggg deserted sale barn (you also get charged per horse, per night). Pens have old manure or are overgrown with weeds. I was nearly hurt twice from slipping on boards that broke from being rotted. The dusty old bales... More
