Arrived Sept. 12. Fished Sept. 13-15. Left Sept. 16, the day the lodge closed for the season. This was my first AK fishing trip. I have memories for a lifetime. We had unusually fair weather for the whole stay. Awesome Coho fishing. The lodge is comfortable, clean and well run. W

I would never risk another venue on a return trip after the time spent at the Kingfisher Lodge. They are the best at what they do from top to bottom. I was astounded by their efficiency on all aspects of their operation. The fishing was fantastic with the best captain I have ever

OUTSTANDING. This was our first family gathering in several years and Kingfisher did a great job of taking care of my families needs on this trip. My dad (mid 70s), myself and my sons (13 and 17) went on the Mist with Capt Don for four days of great fishing. We told Capt Don t

what type of fishing package do you recommend for 1st timers and how many days. Would like to go en of June next year 2017.
First timers will love the 3 day package. You'll be impressed with the lodge, accomodations, efficiency of the entire staff, quality of food and service, and you'll be totally wiped out!! I have to start pumping iron months before I go to reel in those big halibut, but it is so worth it. The lodge flash freezes all fish after filleting them, and the heavy plastic vacuum seal keeps your fish fresh for a year! Bonus! They package fish in 45 lb. boxes for airline check-in, and all you have to do is be ready to store them in a freezer once you get home. Happy eating!!!

What are the rooms like? What is in the rooms? Others have mentioned some people might have to stay in town at the Westin. How do you know where you are staying?
It's Alaska, not the Holiday Inn, but we stayed in a great elevated cabin which had a living room w/tv, (not much time to look at it!) and 2 bedrooms, one had a king size bed for me and my hubby, the other had 2 singles for the 2 other guys with whom we fished. They serve appetizers in your cabin before dinner-awesome touch! You can get a "booze stop" and pick up a bottle of wine or some beer or spirits after fishing before going back to the cabin. Nice pain killer for those aching arms as you look at the fabulous scenery and view your photos of the day!

When you say a small group may have to share a room, what do you mean? I'm going with my husband. We are in a room to ourselves. Right?
Not necessarily. You had better check. Most rooms are 2 br 2 bath.
