Took my husband here for his birthday this weekend. The hotel and the staff more than came up to expectation. We had a Blue Ridge room which was very comfortable with a nice sitting area. The bed linens were superb. Jetted tub was nice touch. We had wine tasting in the Speakeasy on Friday evening and the bar maid was...

I often drive from Arlington VA through the Shenandoah Mountains to destinations near I-81 for breakfast. I stop at The Mimslyn for breakfast on occasion. I appreciate the old southern charm of the place. The dining room looks especially charming, but breakfast fare is rather pedestrian. Breakfast food at Cracker Barrel is higher quality, but The Mimslyn has the ambiance...

The Mimslyn Inn was a nice place to stay but could have been better. The above average price for the room and the advertizing online make it seem like an old southern mansion. It does not live up to the antique charm it promises. Much of the furnishings are reproductions. While the room is furnished with quality soaps, emery boards,...

The Mimslyn Inn did not up to its billing. The food was, at best, pedestrian; restaurant service was unprofessional--even bumbling. At the luncheon buffet, the waitress intruded more than a dozen times, interrupting conversations to ask "if everything was okay." Supper in the basement lounge was even worse. It appears that most of the patrons were locals, with no room...

We had our wedding at the Mimslyn at the end of June. From the first time we visited there to check the place out we were treated very well. The manager Jim took the time to go over the history of the hotel as well as help us narrow down some of the options we had. When we left we...

I loved the Mimslyn Inn! I went with a group of girlfriends, and we had a wonderful time. The staff, including the doorman and the bartender were extremely attentive and kept us entertained with stories of an...interesting...bridal party that was staying at the Inn while we were there. We did the wine tasting which was wonderful. We ate at the...

We recently stayed at the Mimslyn Inn using a Living Social voucher. What a wonderful and relaxing hotel. It had a wonderful genteel, country feel to it. All staff were extremely nice and helpful, especially the doorman, an older gentleman. The circa 31 restaurant was closed while we were there (open on weekends) but the Speakeasy Bar offered outdoor dining...

We stayed one night here as part of our 3 week road trip along the eastern USA. Huge ground floor room with a similar sized bathroom, very comfortable bed, plus a couple of very good sized windows with a view over the pool. Dissappointingly the "fine dining" restaurant was not open for our one night stay - I think it...

This was a lovely historic hotel. The staff was great, eager to help. Our room was quaint and charming. We loved it. Dining on the front porch was very relaxing and watching the sunset was a sight to see.

A nice historic hotel, friendly staff, decent food and a nice bar. A few disappointments though - while we had a nice suite, the view of the loading dock and staff smoking area detracted significantly, so be sure to know what your view is before booking a room here. Also, the continental breakfast and coffee that are offered for free...
