Turn of the (last) century inn with a really special lobby and staircase. Rooms on the small side. Very nice resto downstairs (not the upstairs fancy one) which is reasonably priced. Half price bottles of wine on some evenings.

Hubby and I stayed here overnight on our visit to Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive! Great location! This gem was a beauty! Charming well maintained inn, with great views in the Shenandoah Valley. 4 minutes from Luray Caverns, and 15 minutes from Skyline Drive. Will come again !

We stayed here to get away from the election hubub. We usually go somewhere every 4 years. My wife's parents stayed here in 1943 for their honeymoon and we still had a quote given them in 1943 for lodging. Staying here had always been on her "bucket list". It is a quaint inn- beautiful wood- nice staff . Food in... More

We stayed in the Hawksbill Cottage behind the Inn. It gave us access to the amenities of the Inn with added privacy and extra space. We enjoyed the hot tub on our deck and the hammocks and fire pit near our cottage. We enjoyed afternoon tea, Sunday brunch in the Circa 31 restaurant, dinner at The Speakeasy and a couples... More

This place was really beautiful, although it is an older hotel. The service, and the restaurant are both excellent. Old wood floors, and beautiful windows. There are a few spots where the maintenance/housekeeping isn't on top of things - cracked molding, damage to the flooring, and dirt stains on the bathroom walls. Staff did take care of the floor issue... More

I was attending the 90th Annual Chamber of Commerce awards event last week and decided to stay at the venue hosting it. The Hotel far exceeded my expectations in terms of amenities, staff and location. Strongly recommended- if you are working or relaxing in some of the nearby attractions, it is a gem of a place.

I think my husband and I just got unlucky when we stayed here for the last night of our honeymoon as a halfway point back home. Our room itself was spacious, but we were right off of the front porch. You could hear everything going on out on the porch. And we had to immediately close all of the blinds... More

Traveling down Shenandoah Valley to do a little leaf peeping we stopped in Luray to eat lunch at a Restaurant we had eaten at years ago, closed. Viola, up on hill was the Mimslyn Inn, so we took a chance to see if we could get something to eat there. What a stroke of luck!! We were seated in a... More

We stayed one night in this hotel after the drive in Shenandoah valley. It has a nice chemistry of bygone times. Rooms are standard with nothing special (no fridge) but beds are very comfortable. Breakfast was very modest included only coffee, juice and muffin. And the worse was that you had to take it ina lobby, which was pretty uncomfortable.... More

Beautiful property. Maintained the historic design and feel, but has updated amenities. The spiral staircase in the lobby is very nice and during our stay it was the focal point for the local high school students and parents as the location to take pictures. Loved the hammocks at the back of the property - very relaxing for two. The furniture... More
