As a near local, I've been to the Mimslyn for Sunday brunch and a "quick bite" at the downstairs "Speak Easy" restaurant (both were delightful experiences) I have a soft spot for historic/restored hotels and always wanted to check out the Mimslyn. Our stay was a special week-end celebration and noted this when I reserved online. We decided to splurge...

My husband and I stayed at the Mimslyn Inn for a wedding. Our room was beautifully furnished, just like the pictures online. The space in each room runs small, due to it being historic property. We had breakfast at the restaurant on-site - the food and service was wonderful!

It is advertised as a luxury hotel, and perhaps in Luray it is. From our perspective the only thing luxury was the room rate. To be fair it is an historic inn (1930's) with a lot of character, antiques grand entrance and lobby. We chose the lowest price rooms, perhaps that is where we went wrong? Too much furniture for...

We are sorry to hear that your stay at our Historic Inn failed to meet your expectations. As noted in our room descriptions, our Historic Rooms are modest sized guest rooms with maximized living space and efficient furniture arrangement. We do offer more spacious suites for guests who prefer a larger area. It is never easy to hear that a...

From the pictures I expected the Inn to be much better maintained. The room was adequate but with worn carpets and chipped paint. It was awkwardly laid out with an armoire that faced sideways from the bed which made it hard to watch; a single chair faced it and was too close to the screen. The main entrance had no...

We enjoyed our 1-night stay here on a recent road trip. The hotel is elegant, tastefully decorated, and clean with small but well-appointed rooms. We were tired from driving, so we were happy to find the Speakeasy downstairs. Service was a bit slow, but the food was good (I had a burger), and there was live entertainment. Check-in and check-out...

The buffets at the Mimslyn Inn are very special and awesomely presented in an elegant historic "Old Country Virginia Inn" style....you know it will be special from the classic curved driveway through the charming old lobby and tall ceiling dining room. Real tablecloths and real napkins and tasteful decorations give the Mimslyn Inn its charm and well deserved reputation as...

My husband and I spent our second year in a row on New Years Eve celebrating with friends at the Mimslyn's wonderful overnight dinner and dance package. We were not disappointed. The hotel is beautiful and historic and the rooms well maintained. The food, drink and dancing made for a memorable night. We will definitely be back.

The Mimslyn Inn is a nicely appointed older hotel with the right amount of modern updates. We stayed there for my boyfriend's birthday and we enjoyed our weekend stay there including the restaurant, bar and spa.

Lovely historic hotel sits on a small hill overlooking the valley. Interesting restaurant in the basement with good food and nightlife. Room was nicely decorated. Friendly staff. We were here in the off-season and had the run of the place. There is an upstairs lounge that serves as a solarium. Nice place to read or have coffee.

We visited this charming hotel as part of their annual "Oysterfest" weekend package. Oysters in Luray?? Absolutely and some of the best we've had! The gracious staff was warm and accommodations wonderful. The room was a tad on the small side, but the great view, efficient layout, really comfortable bed and beautiful mountain view more than made up for that....
